Here is the before pictures of my laundry/mud room redo. It is hard to take good pictures in this room with all the angles. |
Very hard to let light in with these in front of the window. |
Yuky water heater sitting in the room and no place to move that so the husband had some good ideas on what to do about that as you will see. |
yuk floor |
After moving the washer and dryer down away from the window. Ohhh how I love the light that is coming in that room now. |
I had a hard time getting a good picture of this window area with the way the light was coming in. Again I wish I had a better camera to do justice to this room!!!!! |
Re hung the old ladder that held all my vintage baskets down and over the washer and dryer |
Old wash bucket with ringer still working. Threw in some flowers to bling her up some!!! |
Cute laundry room sign I found at Home Goods. |
You can see the beautiful closet my husband put around the water heater. I used old door knobs to give the newer doors a more vintage look |
Found this chippy little chandelier with the cherub at a cute shop called Soulful Sparrow near my home. |
I love that this little cherub is keeping watch in the laundry room. |

You Husband did a fantastic job with hiding the water heater and other things! And of course, you have done a beautiful job decorating this space! LOVE IT! I am going to be painting my laundry room this winter so this has inspired me! The ironing board on the door is DARLING!! From one sweetie to another~~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteHi Roxie Thanks so much. I am loving the nice bright room now. Got rid of the green for creams and white. I hate doing laundry but now it is nice and sunny and warm in there. Thanks so much. I can't wait to see what you do with your laundry room.

WOW, I cannot get over the change in this room. Your hubby did a fantastic job on the change-up. those doors make a great closet and love how you have the window all framed out, with that adorable settee under it. It's just a perfect room, love all your little touches of vintage goodness!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra coming from you that is so nice and a great compliment. I do love the room with the creams and white instead of the green. Have a great week end. Loved your little Holiday Cupboard so much. You have inspired me to fine one and start it up. So cute.

You can even make a laundry room look desirable! You're going to have to start sharing "Cash and carry Terry". He is too talented to keep to yourself! Beautiful room, beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Ha Ha Julie you crack me up. Do you want him!!!!! I may have to start renting him out. I have to say I am so lucky to have this handy man. I would and could not afford to hire this stuff out so I feel lucky to have him. Have a great week end.

Love your laundry room redo!! We have pipes showing in our laundry room...it is an unfinished room off of our family room downstairs. Now I'm wondering if there is a way that my hubby can hide the pipes and wires in there.
ReplyDelete~Cindy
Absoulutely!!!! Using stock doors from Home Depot for $22 dollars each was a great and inexpensive way to make the closet and the build out under the window for the ugly pipes and dryer vent. I thought it looked nicer than just trying to do it with drywall or beadboard. Gives a better finish. Thanks Cindy have a great week end.

This may well be the cutest laundry room ever! I thought it was wonderful before, but this, this is amazing. I could just take my coffee in there and relax, lol, laundry or no, it is such a sweet space.
ReplyDeleteSandra you are welcome anytime to kick back and have a cup of coffee in there. Maybe throw a load or two in for me!!!!!! I do love the warm sunshine that comes in most of the day. Gosh just opening up a window can make a big difference. Thanks for coming by.

I need to borrow your husband...I have one myself (30 years now) but he wouldn't know how to do all those things (or any of them actually). I love what you did to your laundry room. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have had mine for 32 years and he is pretty good about redo's which I like to do alot!!!!! I am so glad he is handy and can do alot of this work. I could not afford to be fixing up this cottage lake home if I did not have his talents so I feel blessed to have him.

This is absolutely fabulous! I love the difference moving the machines and exposing the window made! Totally changed the look of the room! Your husband is so talented - the water heater door and door/shelf are fantastic! I've always wanted a mud room. Not sure why, they just appeal to me. I have a laundry room but it's very small and not very pretty right now. Maybe I'll give it some love soon! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteI love Mud rooms too. We come in and out through ours so I am so happy it is a happy place to come into now. I do love the machines moved down and that window now accessable and open to the light. Let that Sunshine In!!!!!!

Linda
Hi Linda thanks for coming by because I found your blog . I took your home tour love love love your home. That entry way so beautiful!!!! Yep those 20 dollar doors from Home Depot made a beautiful closet to hide the ugly water heater. He used magnet closure for the doors so I could still put my old vintage door knobs on the doors for decoration to give the vintage vibe.

Did you staple the lace valance behind the burlap for the curtains? Just trying to figure out the logistics, I'd love to do those in my living room. Thanks for the inspiration!
