| I got this chippy cabinet with old wash boards for doors at the flea market this past week end. It had 4 washboard doors but it was too long to go over the washer and dryer in the laundry room so my husband cut it down and remade the cabinet to fit and then we painted it with white paint and now I have some storage cabinets over my washer and dryer. Plus it hides a very ugly fuse box. I just took the left over washboard door and put it above the cabinet for now. |

| Found some old vintage laundry baskets to hang on the walls. I am not sure what I am going to do yet with putting something in these baskets. I was thinking some old vintage laundry theme pillows or old vintage linens to lay in there. What do you think? |

| I love the old laundry baskets hanging above on the walls. Fills the walls in with some vintage decor. I still am playing with this laundry room redo but I feel pretty good about it being almost done. Just a few touches of vintage color here and there and I think it will be complete. I am open for suggestions on what do put in the vintage laundry basket above the door. |

Such a sweet place to do the "dirty work!" As for those 3 baskets over the doors and "what to do"...I'm seein'...some vintage socks, a petticoat and some vintage linen, kitchen towels :)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning. I am loving this room for doing laundry. It is bright sunny and nice in there now. Great idea of the vintage socks and linen. I was thinking maybe a clothes line across the basket to hang some vintage socks. Kind of like the lost socks area!!!! Thanks for the great ideas.

Kris...I am in love with your laundry room!! Love, love, love the cabinet with the washboard doors. I'm so hoping to work on our laundry room when we get the kitchen done...got to get all our ugly pipes and stuff hidden. I really like the idea of vintage socks and linen too.

Hi Cindy I wish I lived closer I would come over and do your laundry room with you. I loved doing this room. It is funny how you can decorate your whole house and then one room like a laundry room is your fav!!!!! Use the door idea to hide those ugly pipes like we did. It works great and is cheaper than drywalling etc. I think I might try the clothes line across the basket and then clip on some vintage socks with the vintage clothes pins and then maybe lay some folded vintage linen in the bottom of the basket. It is funny how one little detail like that can make me crazy on what to do!!! Have a great week.

Hi Roxie. I love this piece. My husband had to do some adjustments to it to make it fit above the washer and dryer but I love the way it came out. It is nice to do laundry in there now. Bright, sunny love it.
