It was small enough to fit in the space but roomy enough so he could recline and be comfortable in it. |

It arrived yesterday and the hubby is loving his new chair. As you know when we did the flip of rooms to give us more seating in our home I wanted to get a new recliner for the hubby. So the hunt was on to find one that would go with the cottage and white decor but still be "manly" enough for the hubby. Well we found one and I am loving it. My husband watch his hockey game last night and said it was really nice to have his own chair to relax in. That book decor on the little chippy stool is for pictures only!!!!! That is where his frosty beverage sits when he is reclining and watching TV. Ha Ha!!
I started this blog to share my cottage home and how I re love junk chic items into my home decor.

I think you found the "just right" chair for your room and your hubby. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacey. I think it is perfect. :) Hubbs loves it so that is what counts.

I like it a lot, Kris. It looks soft and well worn, like an old family piece and it ties in with your room very well. Good choice, I'm glad hubby likes it! Have you ever been to one of the Walter E. Smithe home furnishing stores in the Chicago suburbs? My daughter is a designer at one and they have (and have access to) the most beautiful furniture in every shape, style and size. Most of my furniture is from them, even before Emily started working there. Keep it in mind the next time you are looking! :)
ReplyDeleteHow about these freezing temps? brrrrr....
XO,
Jane
Thanks Jane. Walter E Smithe was a stop we were headed too when we found this one at Carsons and just fell in love with it. I have a few pieces in my home from WalterE. Smithe they have beautiful things.
DeleteThese temps are crazy!!! I guess when you live in Chicago this is what winter is like!!!! I liked the spring temps we had back in December better!!! Have a great week end
Kris
It looks very similar to my husband's recliner. My husband isn't too keen on me putting a quilt or throw on his chair though I often try.
ReplyDeleteIt just wears with age and looks better and better.
Ha Ha !!! Again for pictures only! Husbands are fussy about those kinds of things!

It looks great. I am also on the look out for a new recliner for my husband. He has one now but it is so beat up the leather is starting to disintegrate! It has holes all over the place. We keep looking for a new one (he doesn't want to recover it) to no avail. He is so picky! Thank goodness he does let my put shabby blankets on it to cover up the embarrassment!
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of yours, it fits well with your shabby, white decor.

Hi Shannon,
DeleteYou make me smile. I can tell you have a "mans man" too for a husband. I am glad I could find this chair so my hubby could feel like a guy in my white ruffle world!!!!! I was surprised we could find this one quickly and we both liked it. That is a miracle in itself!!!! Have a great rest of the week end.
Kris
love it! I think a worn leather chair goes with just about any decor!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteI am so lovin this chair. It is soft and comfy and fits so well in this room. Plus as I know you know our hubby's are special and I was really happy to give him a nice comfy chair of his own in my white ruffle world!!!! My husband like yours is there to help me with all my crazy ideas and decor changes without fussy so I am so happy to give him this gift. Hope your week end is good.
Kris
It looks great, and so sweet of you to care that he is comfy in a very feminine room :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I need to give him some "guy" space. He is so good about my decor and helping me with my crazy visions of decor sometimes so I am happy he has his space in that room!!
DeleteHave a great rest of the week end.
Kris
I love this chair! My husband has been wanting a recliner for a loong time but I've been putting it off because I thought it would not go with the rest of my decor but I love this one!! I will have to show him and try to find something similar for our house. The color is amazing...great buy!
ReplyDeleteIve been waiting to see to see how you were going to incorporate the chair into your white mix. It looks fab, it's not oversized like I was expecting a mans chair to be. I think you accomplished the right look:)
ReplyDeleteKris I think it looks perfect! You were lucky to find something that fast! It takes me forever to find furniture.Especially when I am looking for something specific.Looks comfy too!

Kris It is so important to keep that man happy. Terry is a terrific guy. It looks like the perfect chair. Once again your style shines.
ReplyDeleteNancy
It's the perfect chair for your hubby and your room! Love it!!

Oh I think it's fabulous! I love leather club chairs and this one has a nice, soft look to it.
ReplyDeleteLooks and fits perfectly in the room! LOVE the warmness-worn look! You did GOOD GIRL!! Have a wonderful and blessed week! Roxie
ReplyDeleteYou found a great chair. Love the color and style for your house, and I am so glad your husband has his own place to sit and relax.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice compliment, and you gotta keep your man happy! I like that you also considered us for your photo shoot and included the books on the table. Good work all around. :)

Liz,
DeleteYou make me smile always with your comments. I did have to sneak in some cottage decor to the "man" picture!!!!! It all went away after the photo shoot!
I just could not resist. Thanks for coming by.
Kris
love the soft color, kris:) and it does fit perfectly into your pretty room! have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou did GREAT! It's hard to find that balance; masculine vs. feminine, design vs. function. When I picked out my furniture last time I went a little too masculine as my poor hubby had a rose colored leather recliner first time round and never, ever complained. So next time my furniture has to have better balance...like yours!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pendra
Pendra,
DeleteOMG!!! a pink rose colored recliner!!!! Your husband must be a real trooper and he is definitely a keeper to sit in a pink recliner and not complain!!!!! Ha Ha!!! My husband is a fire chief and as man's man as they come and never complains about the white cottage slip covered decor so I really wanted to find him a nice chair to watch his sports in. So happy I found this new vintage looking recliner and it fit him and fit the room. Usually it takes me forever to find something like this so I was happy when we found it pretty quickly. Thanks for coming by and your nice comments. Have a great week.
Kris
So glad that you finally found a chair for your hubby! I think that when you start adding some touches of browns (as on your gorgeous, header pic) the room will be magnificent...am enjoying following you. I hope you'll have a moment to stop by my place and see what's new, too!
ReplyDeleteThat is really nice and my hubby has to have his recliner, too.
ReplyDeletelooks great! we need a new recliner too.been thinking leather. you might have clinched it.
ReplyDeletelove it here, as always.

I love it! This is exactly what I had in mind! I love the aged, vintage look of brown leather and the club shape! Perfect! I'm glad that you both found a chair that fits the room as you wanted. The whole room looks so beautiful! Glad you're enjoying it! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I'm thinking about getting a new chair for Jim. We got him one last year through Craigslist, but found out it's not real leather, and the cat is poking holes and scratching it when he jumps up on the back of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat brand is the one you got?
