My husband hung a chandelier that I found in the shed now I am looking for some cute shades to dress it up. It is romantic lighting to sit outside on a beautiful evening. |
I plan on planting myself on this chair quite a bit this summer. |
The Chandelier is so plain that I am going to try and find some crystals and some flowers and do something cute with some shades. |
My vintage tea cart ready for action. Can't wait to have a party on the deck and load that cart up with fun summer drinks. |
My little cottage garden gate motif is coming together. A little more do here but almost done. |
I added a bird cage to the mix. I am thinking about putting a small plant up inside the bird cage. |
Love that sweet garden gate. The flowers already seem to love growing around it. |
I love petunia's they are so hardy and sun lovers so they do well on my south exposure deck all summer. |
My little watering can water feature. I love the trickle of the water it is so relaxing to listen too. The birds love to drink from there too! |
One of my old chippy ladders needed a plant. I need to find a cute pot or bucket or something fun and unique for the geranium. I am on the hunt. |
Pretty soon that little rose bush area will be blooming and all the flowers in the beds filling in and popping with color. |
It is hard to see but I love this old painted "stop and smell the roses" bed frame that I love to have in the garden. |
All the old vintage watering cans that I have collected and my pink garden boots. |

Hello Kris,
ReplyDeleteLoving how you used that old garden gate...looks GREAT! Oh my...you have some HUGE hanging baskets...did you plant them or buy like that? Well...everything looks outstanding my friend.
Blessings,
Linda
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. They actually come like this and then I feed them once a week and they really will get huge by the middle of summer. I love petunia's they are so hardy and love all the sun they get out there.
Kris
Just lovely, Kris! All your petunias look great; I'm convinced ~ I think I will get a hanging basket of them. : ) I still need to get some colorful foliage plants. I like to plant them by the garage door and front door. This way I get the color but don't need to deal with bees being so close to the doors that open.
ReplyDeleteYour deck and flowers are gorgeous! What a lovely spot to sit and relax. Can't wait to be able to plant flowers, we have a week or two before it's really safe.
ReplyDeleteRelax and enjoy,
Deb
Big garden envy over here. How beautiful is your outdoor space. I want to plop with some sweet tea and never move.
ReplyDeleteThe petunias are beyond awesome!! The chandelier idea as well.
Coming over in a few :-)
Hugs, Gee
Your garden is just gorgeous.. love all the petunias! take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ! Did you make the watering can fountain? I would love to see a diy post on how to make it.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
DeleteI did not make the fountain. I found this already made. It is not hard though it is just a aquarium pump that brings the water up through the spiket. I have replaced the pump a few times over the years. I do not think it would be too difficult to make.
Kris
Hellooo Kris...
ReplyDeleteI like that you're going to **PLANT YOURSELF** On The Chaise Lounger!!! and LoVe the ChiPPy Wooden Board on the wall best...

ReplyDeleteHAPPY NURSES WEEK...I am also a RN..I love love love your outdoor areas..we have the same taste, style, I so enjoy getting your blog post, and see what you have came up with..I have a few? questions if you do not mind..Did you make your cover for your lounger? If you did was it difficult? ..and love the white? pale grey? paint on your deck..any certain brand? I have had our's cedar, or a brown-ish(not like that)and it is due this year for a spruce up...and had been thinking of a white,,we have white vinyl siding...love your little garden gate..your flowers are way ahead of us...it so wet, cool, snow, frost and rainy today. Not planted any thing, but pansies, and I am about beside myself, with the URGE to put things in the dirt!!. my garden is too wet too. I go over and over your blogs..and file away some of your ideas... LOVE IT
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThanks so much for all your sweet comments. The deck (which needs to be painted!!!) is a Dutch Boy deck paint in a cream/ivory color. I do not have the paint anymore or I would tell you the color. I need to find something similar to paint the deck this fall. I am not painting this summer because of all the watering I do it would just not be worth it. I will repaint in the fall. Home Depot has a new product for painting decks that is suppose to really seal and makes it less likely to chip so I am looking into that.
My slipcover was made by a company called Springgardn. Here is her website. http://www.springgardn.com/ She is pricey but I usually get 2 to 3 years out of one cover. I cover my chair with a plastic outdoor furniture cover when I am not planted on it. That helps with it fading and getting wet if it rains. These are washable and I usually do that a couple of times in the summer. I wish I knew how to sew and could make these myself. I do not so I am at the Mercy of this lady that makes them.
I will post this comment on my blog so I hope you will see it. You are a noreply comment blogger so I don't think when I reply by email you would get this. Good luck hope you find a nice cover for yourself.
Kris
Beautiful day, Kris! Oh my!Those petunias are fabulous! So big and lush and the colors are wonderful! They look so nice with the little gate, bird cage and other goodies! Love your little bench area too where the roses are coming back.Looks so inviting and peaceful with lovely things to look at. I want to get out and play but it's been raining this week. The sun did peek out a little bit ago, but we are supposed to get t-storms this afternoon. Maybe that won't happen and we can have some nice sunshine back! Have a great day! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteSigh......such beauty. Love everything. Looking forward to see what you do with the chandy. I thought I might try petunias this year. We will see how long they survive - ;)
ReplyDelete*Smiles*
What a beautiful space Kris!! I love all the flowers and the different things you used to display them! That tea cart is wonderful and that chair looks like the perfect spot to curl up with a book on a gorgeous summer day!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris - those petunias are just gorgeous! How do you make them grow that full? They are just breath taking. I would like to spend an afternoon on your porch. Everything is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!
Judy
Hi Judy,
DeleteThanks so much. I hop them up on Miracle Grow once a week and they are like body builders on steroids!!!! Ha Ha!!! Love that Miracle Grow. I get the kind that come in the liquid bottle you hook right onto the hose and it does the trick. They will be full and lovely color all summer long. Petunia's are pretty hardy and like sun so they get big fast and if you feed them they really get big fast!!!
Have a great Mom's Day.
Kris
Can I be jealous? What a gorgeous yard...and I love all the vintage touches....man, I cannot believe your petunias. Mine were pretty....but not the AZ heat is coming in, and they are heading out!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful. It is amazing how quickly it has gotten lush. Right before my retirement party, I am going to look at this post for ideas for staging my garden for the party.
ReplyDeleteHello Kris, I love your pretty garden and all your special touches. The garden bench with the watering cans and the pink boots are just so cute! Your chaise is lovely. I can imagine spending a lovely afternoon there. xx
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful! I am a big petunia fan, I have lots of luck with them BUT for sure today I am going to get me some miracle grow for them, your's look amazing!
ReplyDeleteso charming, kris! the pickets on the bench would be adorable.
ReplyDeletefyi-our deck is done, and lowes told us to use a solid stain instead of paint, which always peels and chips. (not a bad look to me, but the stain helps the decking last longer)
we used it on our fence at the old house, and after 15 years, the stain still looked great.
Hi again Kris,
ReplyDeleteWow your backyard garden is really looking so beautiful. love the garden gate with all those
beautiful pink petunias, what a vision of lovliness, and the bench with the watering can and the pink rubber boots, so darling..........I would be sitting out on that sweet looking
lounger a whole lot too......lol
Blessings, Nellie
Absolutely beautiful! For cushions that are quick/cheap/easy I buy cute (and cheap) plastic tablecloths and wrap them around dollar store pillows and duct tape them on the bottom. Pretty weatherproof!
ReplyDeleteKris your garden looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteok, those pics are truly magical, but I cannot get those pink boots out of my mind.....did you paint them or are they sold that way in that color?? Please tell me, I need a pair.....blessings, lady
ReplyDeletewell thank you so much for a speedy response here! I was still online googling pale pink boots etc, and for pruners, looking for a sharp pair. I loved your watering cans and am inspired to decoupage mine, thanks to your magicaland here! thanks for the inspirations! lady
