My old cottage nest door and an old chippy white box that I had the hubby attach to the door for a flower box. I love the old chippy architectural elements in the garden. |
I love birdhouses everywhere and this cutie I found at Home Goods and attached it to an old stair column. |
This is that old chippy barn door table I got at the flea market a few weeks ago. I am making this into a potting table in the garden. |
I love my old painted birdhouse out by the tree this year. |
My bike is ready to go!!!! In about a month the baskets will be overflowing with pretty vines and flowers. I will love when the over flow starts to hang down over the bike tires. |
Loving my bike. |
Well there you have it the summer house is beginning to bloom FINALLY!!!!! Oh it was so nice to get out in the yard and play in the dirt. My back and muscles are so feeling it but it was totally worth it. Hope you had a great week end where you are. Kris :) Sneak Peak at some of the backyard planting. This is a work in progress still lots to do back here. |
Started some of the decorating on the deck with an architectural piece. The old garden gate that I had hanging in my guest room is now part of the garden decor. I have to paint that rusty bird feeder. Ignore that in the picture!!!! |
Got all my old vintage watering cans lined up and ready for use. |
Gotta have a little romance in the garden. This candle chandelier is perfect. As you can see my bushes are just starting to bud with the icky spring and long winter we have had here. Hopefully in the next month they will be full and green and full of flowers. |
I love to have birdhouses through out the yard. My birdie friends like the B&B too. |
Starting to get my space ready for summer. Got the chair out and my table. I have a pretty chandelier I am going to have the hubby hang over the table for romantic reading on the deck.n |
Got the hubby's firetruck out by his shed. I need to find a pretty plant to put in it. |
These my friends are the greatest chippy posts ever. I got these a year ago at Elkhorn Flea Market. The hubby is going to make something special with those babies later on for the back gardens. Stay tuned for that upcoming feature. Well still a big work in progress for the backyard. That might take some time to get it where I want it. Glad you had patience to get through this post. It was a long one. Thanks for coming by. Kris :) |

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...everything looks beautiful, Kris! I really love the yellow petunias, I've only used them in baskets before but you have them everywhere! I also love the billowy baskets of pink petunias in your backyard. So many elements and accessories make for a cute and interesting garden. As you know, I have no lawn so I'm seriously envious!!

This is like walking around a garden Museum - had to keep scrolling back to make sure I didn't miss anything Kris!
ReplyDeleteIt's spectacular - and I agree with Danielle - this should be featured in a magazine - I've seen features that don't come
close to yours!
AND I had no idea about the " mold " - wonder if that's in Canada too?
Have to check into that - because I just love impatiens..............
Big hugs,
Suzan
Everything is so very beautiful - your yard is perfect! Love the blue and yellow flowers and all your chippy items.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were very productive this weekend.

ReplyDeleteYour outdoor decorating is just beautiful! I love all the petunias. I love the flower bag--I want one of those! I have never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteKris, are you kidding me?! Your yard/garden is seriously stunning!! I need you to come do your magic on my humble yard/flowers :) I'm sure your pics will be pinned/featured many times!

WOW!!! What a transformation already, I love it all! I can't wait to see all those beautiful flowers flowing down that bike. And I love the hanging bags...aren't they just the sweetest?! I too went with petunias. So excited about seeing the back yard...so hurry, hurry, hurry.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of work you got done, but beautiful work, at that. The petunias are already such show offs. I can only imagine how things will look once they get to growing even more. That door on door with the hanging flowers is just beautiful and I'm loving what's coming together in your backyard. I hope you get plenty of time to enjoy being out there!
ReplyDeleteLiz
Oh Kris, it's just magazine worthy perfection. I adore that little red fire engine! I had no idea there is a problem with impatiens and I just planted all mine! Oh dear! I know last year mine did not do very well. The didn't die but they didn't grow much either. HMMMM.......Have a wonderful week! P.S. I used my very chic emergency tote last week three times. I am just lovin' it! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
DeleteThanks so much. It is finally getting nice here. I do have to have something in this cottage ruffle house for the fire chief hubby so I put the fire truck by his shed. He just laughs when I tell him I decorated his shed too. He said ok as long as I do not try to do the interior of the shed that is his man cave!!!!!
Yeah it is crazy about the impatiens. I was really bummed to find that out. I just would be sick to plant all my beds with those and then have the mold hit us this summer. I guess there is not prevention and it wipes them out completely. So I will deal with the petunias. They love the sun but they are high maintenance with having to pluck the flowers all the time to get new ones to come through.
I am such a summer girl so I am so happy for this nice weather finally. We are leaving for vacation on the 18th. Taking the family to Disney!!! I am excited to get away to Florida see my mom and have fun at Disney with my granddaughter. I think I like going there more than she does!!!!!!! She will turn 3 the day we leave to go there and she is excited to see Mickey and Minnie. I remember doing this when my girls were little so it is fun now with my granddaughter.
Have a great week.
Kris

So many pretty things to look at in your yard, it's hard to pick a favourite!! I am in love with the scalloped concrete edging... it looks perfect there; may have to 'borrow' that idea!! Love those pink petunias on the deck with the gate too... I'd be sitting out there all day! Happy Spring Kris!!
ReplyDeleteA-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I wish I had a green thumb. Oh well, at least I can look at your post and dream. I thank you for that.

Feel free to leave suggestions as well, I need the help!!!
ReplyDeletehi chris love your yard, but I was looking at your tanning louger on the deck and wondering if you made a slip cover for it or if it's just a trow slip. The reason I ask is I'm hoping to finally get some of my deck together this week and I have a old lounger, I usually paint it each year whatever color I'm in the mood for but I want to go for a more romantic feel on the deck this year, any tips you have would help as you have such talent and I love your outdoor style xo Elle@sweetpeaschicnshabbies
