We are getting bad storms here in Chicago tonight so I figured I would bake these cookies since I have the air on. My hubby is watching his beloved Black Hawks tonight going for the Stanley Cup. So I thought I would treat him to some yummo cookies while he watches the game.
Here is the recipe:
Cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, vanilla and salt together. Add Flour, Cornstarch, baking soda to the mix. |
Add your chocolate chips and cherries or nuts or what ever you want to add. |
Bake at 350 degree oven. I used my convection oven so I set it at 320. Bake until they are golden brown. |
The secret ingredient of corn starch is what keeps them crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. The cornstarch keeps them from flattening out. So you get this perfect looking cookie. |
Here's the hubby enjoying the chocolate chip cookies while reclining in his fav chair and wearing his lucky jersey. |
There you have it. Yummy tasting cookies. Hope you are having a wonderful week. I have a decor post in the next day or so on something I have been working on in my Laundry Room so stay tuned. Kris :) |
Sounds delish.. But, sigh, there isn't a Gee proof cookie recipe. I follow the recipe closely, they come out like pucks!!! I promise. Will ass on to my DIL... now that girl can bake me cookies anytime!!! Perfection.

Kris
They sure do make ones mouth water looking at them! I live an hour NW of Chicago in IN and so far all we have gotten is rain, thunder, lightning and a little wind. Sure hope we don't get any worse than that. Hate storms. Nancy
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect night to bake some cookies!!!! We had some pretty fierce thunder and lightning but no wind damage as some towns got. Wooooo so glad.
DeleteKris

Also, thank you so much for the info on the curtains....they are adorable! I'm getting VERY confused on what to go with...There is so much to choose from and so pretty!! This is the hard part! Blessings and a wonderful weekend ahead~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteHi Roxie,
DeleteWhat ever you do with that cutie it will be great. Take your time to figure it all out. Remember I am living vicariously through you with this wonderful treasure you have. Ohhhhhhh I want one so much. Someday hopefully I will score one. They are just really hard to come by in my neck of the woods or they are really $$$$$$. Good luck.
Kris
Kris..you are so doing what I am...I made dinner for the kids and we had an eye out for the storms. That didn't keep them from watching and cheering for the Hawks. Yay! It's still in overtime as I write. Your guy is so cute in his jersey. I have to try your recipe...Yum!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Hi Jane,
DeleteWow they finally won in triple over time. I finally went to bed before they got the goal. My hubby was pretty happy with them winning. Now only 3 more to go!!!!!!!
Our storms were mostly thunder storms and some wicked lightning but no wind like they were saying so was glad for that.
Try these yummy cookies they are so so good. You can put in any ingredients you like and they come out so yummy.
Kris
The cookies sure do look yummy! It is late here and the storms are just now getting to us. Looks like it will be a long night...we have strong wind warnings until 6:30am. We have a lot of trees in our yard, so that really worries me. Heard my niece had a tree come down that hit their house and car. Hope everyone affected by these storms stay safe.
ReplyDeletehugs, Cindy
Hi Cindy,
DeleteOh my you are having worse storms than we had. Ours were some wicked thunder storms but no wind damage. I hope all is ok and you did not get too much damage.

We had a lot of thunder and lightning but no wind damage as some towns got. So happy that did not happen. Happy too that our cable did not go out as my hubby was on the edge of his seat with the Hawks game last night!!! Wooo Hooo they won finally after 3 periods of overtime.
DeleteKris
This sounds like a very yummy recipe! I'm sure your husband enjoyed them...and he must have enjoyed the game as well. It sure was a good one, and a long one too! His lucky shirt obviously worked!
ReplyDeleteThe rain has moved to NJ today and it is coming down in buckets. The thunder is here too. These cookies sound great. I am going have to make these for sure. Your husband looks so happy eating the cookies in is jersey. We don't watch hockey, just baseball and football. My husband and I are huge fans. Hope the game went well!

Love these cookies. I first found them at the Ocean Sray website but haven't used the cherry flavored craisins yet. Had to cover my eyes at your hubby's shirt, tho. Congrats on the win last night. Hope it's the last one :-)
ReplyDeleteBorn and bred Bostonians......we're waving from the other side of the stadium.....hahaha.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I had no idea that cornstarch would do that. I'll have to try it. My cookies are often flat and crunchy. Your cookies looked good! Your hubby is so cute sitting there eating away with his jersey on (like a kid). LOL! Men really never grow up do they?
ReplyDeleteI miss baking, but Steve doesn't eat sweets and I do. They would all end up in my tummy.
ReplyDeleteDid the lucky shirt work?
Looks like they were a hit, Kris! Hope his team won too!
