Here is one of the laundry room off my kitchen. I love this room to do laundry in it is bright and sunny with a big window. |
My husband made this cabinet over the washer and dryer for me and used old vintage washboards for cabinet doors. Lot's of storage. |
I took an old sewing spool and added an old crystal door knob to the end and hung my old vintage laundry hangers on it. My friend had given me this old magnetic wash board for my birthday. |
My new folding table that the hubby built for me and then I added the skirt. I do not sew so I was thrilled when I could use these drape panels for a skirt. |
This door hides my ugly water heater and provides some storage. |
A close up of the no sew burlap window treatment. |
Old vintage ironing board I got at the flea market for $20. I love that it still has the directions on how to use the ironing board still on it. |
Up close shot of the old wooden sewing spool made into a hanger rack. |
I added old vintage and newer baskets to the walls and put in my old vintage pillows made out of old pillow cases inside for some soft bling to the walls. |
I got this old wash bucket ringer awhile back at a flea market and just love it up on the shelf. |
Now I can add whimsy to the laundry room too!!! |

I luv your laundry room. Mine is still in it's original state after almost 8 years in this home. Sad I know.. A small mudroom/pass through from the garage... windowless... MUST do it up. It has n=been 'next' on the list for some time...
ReplyDeleteHugs, Gee
What a beautiful space you've created! Prettiest laundry room I've ever seen. So many great ideas and so much inspiration. Thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat room to do laundry in, Kris! I might even sneak in there without laundry if it was mine! : ) Love, love your table skirt and your window treatment. Great ways to get these results without sewing.
ReplyDeleteKris- I just love it. That is one room I really need to work on here- my laundry room. It looks so pretty and wonderful-a great place to do laundry. I LOVE that old door...good thing to have a handy hubby! I got a reprieve today- I am not helping my friend- but I do have a grandbaby here that isn't feeling well-poor little tyke-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh, Kris...you did a beautiful job with your laundry room! I wouldn't even want to mess it up with dirty clothes! lol! The chalkboard with the "missing socks" is just too cute! The valance is beyond creative, I have a stash of bleached burlap and I wanted to create something like this for my 2nd bath. I don't think I will bunch it up as well as yours, but I'll try!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are getting by with this humid weather we are having. it's like living in a jungle!
XO,
Jane
You've done a fantastic job here! I'm inspired! Love all the vintage additions and seeing how you re-purposed items. Love it all - happy laundry day! :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Kim @ Curtain Queen
Fantastic! And BUSTED! :))) I never tire looking at it, Kris. And I didn't remember that the washboards are actually doors!! Or that the light fixture was from Lowe's - I thought it was a Pinterest pin in play!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week!
Rita
Absolutely beautiful....gives me inspiration and desire to re-do my small laundry space (not even a room)...Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI love your laundry room - I would be doing laundry every day. I hate mine it's in the garage and it's like a junk, dark space. Need to come up with a plan and make it exciting. Thanks so much for this post. You are so lucky to have such a talented hubby.
ReplyDeleteMary
KRIS ALL I CAN SAY IS I AM JEALOUS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ROOM. I MAY HAVE TO USE THIS FOR INSPIRATION FOR MY UTILITY ROOM. IT'S SO DRAB. THIS LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF A MAGAZINE.

Kris,
ReplyDeleteI love your laundry room!! I wish mine wasn't in the unfinished area of our basement. It can't be dry walled, because there are pipes running along the low ceilings and walls. You know that I love your light fixture and have the same one in my dining room. I just put blue mason jars on mine today and it looks great. Going to share about it on my next post on my blog.
hugs,
Cindy

I wish you happy Summer weekend!
Carola
Yep, making work into play makes all the difference. Who wouldn't want to do laundry with a smile in that room! Isn't it nice too that you have such a spot that you can fill with your chippy finds! Happy laundering!
ReplyDeleteLiz
Hi Kris
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the ruffled curtain that you have below the work surface in your laundry room, and wondered if you could tell me, is the top layer cut and then stitched on in a curved shape, as I would love to try and copy this style in my new kitchen once they've finally finished the remodel of our home?
Love the whole look! The burlap curtains and the light fixture especially caught my fancy! Amazing! I am a new follower!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! I always love looking at your laundry room! It's so filled with one of a kind creations and vintage goodies and doesn't look like a utilitarian room at all! That flowering bush out of the window is gorgeous and I really am smitten with your Department of Lost Socks clothesline black board on your new door - so clever! Now I know where to find all those missing socks! Maybe Midge can make herself some new friends! LOL Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Leena,
DeleteYou crack me up. I never thought that maybe those missing socks could become a new friend for Midge!!!!!!!
Kris
Hi Kris - I just came over for a visit from SYC and am smitten with your laundry room! I've pinned a few pictures to my Laundry Room Dreamin' board for the day that I can do a makeover of my own nasty space! I also took a tour of your home and it is amazing. Everything is perfect down to the very last detail. I am your newest follower on Bloglovin' and look forward to getting to know you. Blessings to you, Patti
ReplyDeleteI love the sign you have on the shelf with the old wringer bucket that lists how to do the wash. Where did you get that? Is it a printable, by chance?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn,
DeleteI got that sign from HomeGoods or TJ Maxx I can't remember but if you need me to take a picture of it I can and then email it to you to blow up to copy. Let me know. You are a no reply comment blogger so I will leave this with your comment to me and hopefully you will come back to see it. You will have to give me an email so I can send it to you if you want me to do that.
Kris
I LOVE this room!! It is so gorgeous! Love all the perfect special touches. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Wow - this is the cutest laundry room I've ever seen! Absolutely love the washboard cabinet doors! I came over from Ivy and Elephants link party.
ReplyDeleteKris, I am really in awe of your laundry room. I would hang out there all day long! It is so soft and warm. It must be nice to do laundry in that room, which by the way never goes away for some reason laundry is always around.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Love your laundry room! Especially ....everything! I do love your table skirt, I remember when you first posted it. and your washboards are so great...I have one of my mother's, she used to wash MY socks on it!
ReplyDeleteHearts to you!
Betsy
Ha Ha, Kris.
ReplyDeleteThe doggie bowls were the first thing I spotted. I didn't even know you had a pet. You will have to show us your little friend some time.
Love your laundry room. I really need to do something with my little laundry closet. I think I will start collecting ideas on Pinterest. Thanks for the inspiration again.
*Smiles*
Hello Kris,

Blessings,
Linda
Kris,
ReplyDeleteI just had to share a few of your pics on my facebook page...hop over and check them out:)
Blessings,
Linda
This looks like a place where I would bring my knitting and a cup of tea, and I would spend a delightful afternoon knitting socks, drinking tea, chatting, and NOT doing laundry. But then again, I'm always looking for an excuse to not do laundry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, lovely room!
Everything looks darling - love your creativity!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love all of the details! Your laundry room is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless Kris - doesn't happen to often - but there you have it

ReplyDeleteKelly
Wow I love all of it. It just looks amazing. You did such a gorgeous job decorating your laundry room. I agree with you, we have
ReplyDeleteto do laundry so why not make it a pretty place. Right now my laundry room...that I love...is filled with boxes of little chicks
that were just delivered from the post office. Lots of little chirping in there!
I always love to come by for a visit and see more decorating and ideas. You never cease to amaze me. Just gorgeous.
Blessings,
Debbie

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I missed your blog since we appear to party at the same places. I had a great time poking around last night and went back through all your archives. Love the flipping room idea and both rooms look fabulous. I adore your laundry room and agree that they should be pretty. I'm a new follower. I can't wait to see what else you cook up.

Let's Add Sprinkles
Kris, I am so crazy for that laundry room. I love the window...you did a fine job of the curtains adornment. I do laundry in the basement...you know , wee windows that little light could ever come in. Boring. I have added things to try and cheer it up. I love the idea of throwing in a load of landry while you may be in the kitchen. Wish I could have met you in Tipton. Hope you went to the French Flea too. On Saturday, my husband was set up at the farmer's market, just east of the peddler's and french flea. Take care. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYou two are a wonderful team! This has to be the cheeriest laundry room ever. I just love all the warmth the vintage touches bring. You obviously have endless original ideas. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy laundry room! I hope you don't mind, but I may borrow a few of your cute ideas!
ReplyDeleteBlessings from Still Woods Farmhouse
Cute, cute, cute...love every detail!! So jealous...you should see my dreary basement laundry room...lucky you :)
ReplyDeleteENVY <3
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to create a Pin board for this laundry room - so much to love. Your post will be featured in this week's Home and Garden Party - I do appreciate you sharing!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Kris, your laundry room is simply darling, just simply darling! Love every thing about it. I have a room very similar that I have decorated all in vintage, but is not nearly as cute as yours. I need more white! lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC. Will be featuring you this week.

Obsessed!!!! What a gem of a room! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you attach a link of the Lowe's chandelier? I can't seem to find it on their website and I want to put this up in one of my farmhouse rooms.
ReplyDeleteMeghan I hope you come back to read this since you are a no reply blogger. I have now way to email you back. I got the chandelier in the laundry room from the Lowes Store not on line so maybe they only carry it in the store. I got that about 2 years ago too so not sure if they still have it in stock. You can always check ebay to see if someone is selling it there. Hope you come back and see this. Hope that helps.
DeleteKris
Thanks for the quick response! I don't usually follow blogs but I just submitted my email to follow you! :-) LOVE your style and need to spend the time to go through your blog for more ideas. We live in a circa 1830s farmhouse so I'm always fishing around for eclectic, cottage, farm style ideas. It's too bad about not being able to locate the chandelier...if you happen to find a style or model number on it please post. I will check my local store. If you also have a link to the sink curtain that would be great! I could make something like this for around my mudroom utility sink. :-)) I am soooo in love with this room. I already told me hubby we are doing the chalkboard idea to our door! haaahaa!
DeleteGlad you came back to see the reply. The ruffle curtain is from curtain I had and just cut them down to use as a skirt around my laundry table. A repurpose. I hope you can find the chandy somewhere. It was black and I painted it and the jars were plain and I just added the burlap around the jars. Good luck. Your farmhouse sounds wonderful.
DeleteKris
I used your window treatment idea in my newly redecorated laundry room & LOVE it!!!!! I can not find rosettes/fabric flowers, though. Any ideas/hints??? TIA
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find the sink curtain, please??? I absolutely love this laundry room - creative genius at work!!
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteIt is actually a pair of curtain panels I had and I just shortened to make the skirt. There is a lady on Etsy that makes these drapes and she probably could make them to fit for you. If you are interested let me know and I can go back and find her site link for you.
Have a great day.
Kris
Yes, please! I would love to find her. I need two sets to do under my sink cabinets!! MANY THANKS!! :)
