Susan from Must Love Junk, and myself (Kris) Junk Chic Cottage wanted to do a regular feature on our blogs, something unique that hasn't been done before. So we came up with an idea to 'spotlight the real life behind the blogger' in a more personal way.
There is so much talent and inspiration in blogland, and we thought it would be fun to bring you a closer look at the person behind the blog.
Every week on Saturday we will spotlight a blogger and have them tell us a little bit about themselves and their blogs. You will be able to see and read about each of the bloggers on both Susan's and my blog.
I am so happy to introduce you to this next Saturday Spotlight Blogger. Today's feature is Anne from White Lace Cottage. I am excited to introduce you to her because I have actually met Anne and we have become friends outside of blog world. Anne is so sweet and talented and I am so happy to call her friend. Please sit back and enjoy reading about this beautiful and very talented blogger.
Having a blog you may think that I am comfortable
talking about myself.
The truth is I am really not.
When I was asked to be a part of this I was a bit
hesitant but thought I should get out of my comfort zone a bit and talk about
me.
Oh yes I love sharing decorating ideas and
inspiration that is easy.
But talking about me well that's another
story.
I have been married to my wonderful, handsome and
amazing husband for 24 years. We have been together for 30 years...we dated for
6 years before we were married.
He is my best friend and my true confindant! I
am blessed and truly lucky!
We have a beautiful, smart and caring daughter.I am so proud of her!
And she loves going junking with me....what could
be better!
And our baby...well our furbaby....tabby.
Don't let her sweet demeanor fool you.Oh yes she is
very friendly...but is very mischievous!
But how can you resist that sweet innocent
face.....we can't!
Tabby is my daughters best buddy.
Something you may not know is that we are huge
Disney fans....well more like Disney freaks!
If we could we would go ever year,it is our
happy place.
Our family is very close we spend lots of time
together even taking walks or bike rides.
These are the years my daughter is growing and
before you know it she will be gone.We take advantage of all the time we have
together now!
As a family we have gone to several concerts.Bruce
Springsteen is big in our house! This past summer we saw Paul McCartney and
soon will be off to see Pat Benatar!
I don't like winter I am not a cold weather
person. But for now I am stuck living in a colder climate.
I am a licensed hair stylist but I don't work in a
shop. But I still do hair for a few of my friends.
When I was little I wanted to be a singer and an
actress.
The kids I went to school with thought I would be
on Broadway.
Speaking of Pat she was my singing idol.Oh yes I
used to belt out her songs in front of a mirror.
And I loved Carol Burnett.I thought she was so
funny! I always wanted to make people laugh like she did...I still do!
Somethings you may or may not know about me:

I am a licensed hair stylist but I don't work in a
shop anymore.I still do hair on some of my friends.

Am I sharing too much?
I loved Carol Burnett I thought she was so funny! I
always wanted to make people laugh like she did...I still do!
I love chocolate we always have it in our house. Having

Drinking coffee is a must for me,but I also enjoy
tea.
When I was little I would re-arrange and decorate
my bedroom....are you surprised?
Art was my favorite subject in school....math and
gym were my least favorites.
I am a vegetarian just converted a year ago.
Roses are my favorite flowers....especially pink.
If I could I would be driving a vintage 1950's
something pink car or a car from the 1930's!
I enjoy most music genres.I just cannot tolerate
heavy metal...or some opera.Although I could sit and listen to Andrea Bocelli
for hours....
I hate yellow jackets and wasps!
I love the smell of lavender.....
Okay I think I have shared enough.
And I hope you will come over for a visit at White Lace Cottage.
Thank you Anne for sharing your beautiful family and photos with all of us. It was so nice to learn more of the personal side of you. I know this was a hard one for you but it was a beautiful post and I loved seeing all your pictures and learning more about you. Now if you loved learning about Anne please hop over to Susan's blog and learn about Betsy from My Salvaged Treasures. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. I am away and on Babysitting duty for my 3 year old granddaughter Abby so MeMe here is very tired. I forgot how much energy 3 year olds have and how they never run out of that energy!!!!!! Have a great Saturday.

I'm a warm-weather girl, just like Anne! Loved getting to know about her and her family! :)
ReplyDeleteSusan
Just love this series ladies - and loved getting to Anne a little better -
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived in a warmer climate too!
And really wish I could do hair :)
XOXO
It was fun getting to know a little bit more about Anne. I've been following her for ages and just love her decorating style.
ReplyDeleteAnne is a great person to spotlight. She has a great sense of style, and a beautiful spirit. We've met, and have become friends. Great feature.
ReplyDeleteGreat fun getting to know Anne better. I am not a cold weather person either but here I am in Wisconsin. I think God does have a sense of humor, Anne, and puts us where we are supposed to be-even if we are cold all the time we are there!;>) I think you should have given us a little video of you belting out Pat Benatar! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love her. I have followed her for sometime. Today I put aside a good part of my day to blog search. If I could do it and make money I would. It makes me oh so happy! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGreat feature as always Kris. I am a fan of Anne's, she is very talented and has a beautiful home. I liked getting to know more about her personally. I am a Jersey girl and we both love Bruce Springsteen. We have talked about that for sure.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
I follow Susan's blog so it was fun to read more about her personal life. I remember loving the Carol Burnett show when I was little too. She was my favorite! I can definitely relate to that one. I can't relate to being a vegetarian though. I love meat too much! She'll probably out live me now though since she switched. I bet her doctor loves her. She is the second family that I've met that LOVES Disney like nobody's business. Maybe she could retire in FL. That way she would get her hot weather she prefers AND be close to Disney World! I think I've just solved all of her problems now. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love Anne's style and visiting her blog is always a treat. I enjoyed learning more about her!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
