White Neutral Fall Decor


Good Labor Day to all of you.  Hope the week end was great.  It is so much better to start the work week out on a Tuesday and not a Monday!!!!

 Here is proof that even the neutral girls with white and cream decor can do a fall theme.

 Let me show you some pictures of why I am not working on fall yet outside.  It is still too much like summer here in Chicago Land.
Look at the flower box on the front porch that is attached to the old cottage nest door.  The sweet potato vine is growing the whole length of the bushes.

I love that I could dress up this chippy chair with some fall flowers and white pumpkins.  See you can still be a neutral palate girl and still decorate for fall.  Don't get me wrong I love the colors of fall.  I love the reds, oranges, yellow which I will use on the outside of the house when fall gets closer.  For inside I like staying with neutrals for fall decor.

 


I loved this sign that I found at Home Goods.  I loved the saying and happy it was cream and brown.  Just perfect put in my centerpiece arrangement.
There you have it.  You can make fall arrangements with white, creams and browns and still get a pretty fall arrangement.  Don't get me wrong I love the colors of oranges and reds and yellows for fall but I think I will use those colors on the outside of the house when fall really gets here and my summer flowers are done.


Started some decor on the mantel.  This is a work in progress.
 I feel like I could start on the inside of the house but it is too early to do anything outside yet.

    Which room is that AWESOME vintage mantel in??? You know I have to love that!!! You are going to have so much fun with the sweet chippy chair. It's already looking good dressed up for Fall.

    Great indoor Fall neutrals, Kris - love the chair & what you did with it. My outside is like yours - just came in from watering and giving a hard trim to my potato vines. But I'm ready for cooler temps!

    Very pretty, Kris! Your potato vine and my daughter's morning glories are not giving up any time soon! : ) I've done a couple of Fall projects for outside because I can't bear to go up to the attic yet {when it feels like 90 degrees} to get my Fall stuff down. I will probably wait another couple of weeks and hopefully it will cool off just a bit.

    Wow that sweet potato vine is incredible, it definitely likes where it is. All of your plants look so happy and healthy! I love neutral fall colors, Orange is my least favorite color so I've never really loved the typical fall color scheme but the colors you have used are just down my ally!

    Summer is still clinging here as well. Weather is HOT and sunny with wild afternoon storms... yup summerish.
    I am in the planning stages still. Like you I luv the colours of Fall, the rich deep colours, but am not feeling them inside this year. Trying to come up with an alternative...

    Wow is all I can say on that potato vine!! I do like your fall arrangement on that chair! Although we live about an hour's drive from Chicago into IN I think it seems like fall even if it is still warm!     It's still summer here in Ohio too!! Your gardens are still gorgeous and will you leave that potato vine through Fall? I love the lime green for Fall!     The flowers in my front are wonderful, but Lulu has taken out the back yard flowers.

    I am in love with the white pumpkins on your chippy chair and think I will use the idea on my green metal chair in the living room.

    But, with the weather just reaching summertime heat, I am putting off fall decor for awhile.

    I cant seem to get inspired to get my fall decor started yet her in Ohio. Our community pool is going to stay open through September, quite unusual! I love to do sunflowers this time of year. They are so interesting and very attractive in a "back to school time" kind of way.
    But soon enough the chill will be in the air and BOOM we'll be looking at s-n-o-w!!

    oh Kris, I am with you. There is no way I can get rid of the impatiens on my front porch. The pots are just overflowing. The farmer down the road said I could come cut some corn stalks. They are still pretty green right now, so guess what? I am going with green corn stalks on the front porch for now with the pretty pink and white impatiens. I will spray paint them a bit with white. LOL..How's that for combining summer and fall? xoxoxo I am just blown away by your petunias. They should be in a flower catalog.

    Kris, you truly are amazing, and I mean that! I agree with Suzan everything you touch is just beautiful. I want to put it in a bottle, LOL!!! You have really captured fall beautifully. I can't believe how great all your plants are still doing. Here in NJ they start to fade by August. It is still too hot hear to do anything outside. I will miss doing my own touches this fall since we are at my girlfriends. But, we are getting ready to finally close on the land. It only took FOREVER!!!

    Oh Kris, how I envy your beautiful garden displays! Mine used to look like that, but since we bought our holiday home in Spain, and go for 3 weeks at a time, finding someone to water everyday can be tricky, hence I don't bother too much these days, so it's lovely to see yours.

    Also loving the pumpkins,signs, EVERYTHING really, lol - you wouldn't like to visit the UK and come and style my house would you?

    Thanks for all the fall incentive. I bought 16 baby boo white pumpkins and 3 larger white ones yesterday at a farmer's market. Going to get started today. I have an arrangement, too, to hang on my front door. Pretty excited to get started.

    LOVE all of this! I am SO not happy about summer ending and I always put off fall decorating until the last, possible minute. Your potato vine is awesome! I planted one for the first time this year and hubby and I SWEAR it is taking on a life of its own and taking over our patio!

    It is still Summer here too and I'm not ready for Autumn yet. Your flower box looks fabulous and what a pretty place you have filled with pretty posies. It looks very much like summertime at your house yet. I very seldom use orange in my decor because I'm just not that fond of the colour. I almost always decorate with white and creams as well as a wee bit of pink for the Autumn.     I think your pastel outdoor plants are holding up beautifully by this time of year and I've always been intrigued at how those of you who have such beautiful neutral and white decor homes will handle autumn decorating. The mantel is gorgeous! Makes me want to paint my old one white too.

    I do have to wait till it cools down a bit before I can decorate outside for Fall. It did that so I did my thing. The next week the heat returned. Like record breaking heat. lol! This week it is cool again. I love the vignette on your chair Kris! The neutrals work so beautifully in your home. My kitchen table decor is the closest thing to neutrals you'll find at the Olson home. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
