I made some changes to the living room above my entertainment cabinet and also the entry way.
I had this old stair rail so I hung that and then used my love of garden things to decorate with the nest theme. |
I am liking that this space is now filled with all the things I love about gardening. |
I love my "bless this Sweet Nest" sign with the old chippy frame. My chippy box filled with greens and white roses and my little chippy birds. |
Now on to the entry way. A few change ups here. |
I moved the old cottage door down the wall and then put the old chippy shutter and birdhouse next to it on the wall. |
I hung this old chippy gate and moved out my little chippy benches to put with it. Then I added some fall decor to the benches. |
There you have it some changes to the entry way coming into my home and also the entertainment cabinet got a make over. Have a great week. Hope to have the master bedroom reveal up soon. Kris :) |

Oh how I love that gate. Cant wait to see what you do with the birdcage at Christmas time. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteKris, I liked the big cage...but I understand when we aren't happy we have to change it. I am amazed at the little railing piece.I absolutely love it and I would never have dreamed of using it like that. So sweet. I like that old wire gate also. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI loved the birdcage too, but look forward to seeing it again at Christmas.
I like the entertainment center much better with the new arrangement. I like the bird cage but it was just to top heavy on the entertainment center. The entry hall looks terrific. Kris you have such a knack for putting things together. Would have never thought to use that gate, but I really like it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Mary
The gate is amazing! I love your nest decors in every detail. The birds houses, the white roses...very romantic!

It looks so pretty, Kris! Too bad about the bird cage, but I can understand what you are saying what with its size and all. I love your shelf/sign that says "Our Nest" on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI always love your old doors, gates, and shutters. They look good everywhere you put them!

ReplyDeleteHa Ha nope!!!! Especially me!!!! I will use it at Christmas and outside next summer so it is not gone for good. It will reappear just not on top of my entertainment cabinet!!!!!!
DeleteKris, your entryway looks fantastic! I've always loved that gate, and I love it paired with the door and shutter!
ReplyDeleteI adore that birdcage, but I get what you're saying. It'll look great filled with Christmas goodies :)

ReplyDeleteKris...I love everything you do and can't wait to see the big bird cage all decorated at Christmas time. Love your gate!! My sister gave me one and I'm having a hard time figuring out where to put it, because the side ends curve outward. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy
Love the changes Kris..LOVE that cottage door!!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many pretty things in your house--if you had a garage sale or something I would be broke. That cottage door must be the most perfect door ever!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I wish you could decorate my living room! Can't wait to see how you use the birdcage!
ReplyDeleteDeb
I love that entryway! Your taste and style is so awesome, I love it! Maybe you answered this at some point, but how do you hang your doors?
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
DeleteMy husband actually made a cleat to hang on the wall. It is a piece of wood that is anchored into the studs of the wall and then he hung the doors onto that to make sure they were secure. This way too you do not have a million holes in the wall. He hooked the doors together with crown molding which helps to secure them too. Hope that helps. Hope you come back to read this comment. You are a noreply comment blogger so I had no way to email you. Good luck.
Kris
I have been noticing a few tiny benches around the blog world. I would like to get 2 or 3 for myself. Haven't seen any in our area though. On to the hunt!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the birdcage outside at Christmas.
*Smiles*

I've just caught up with your last few posts, Kris! I just love what you are doing with your bedroom! Looks like we are both loving the gray look, and gosh, I wish I had bought some of that Annie Sloan chalk paint when I was out your way! The nightstands look gorgeous. And I'm loving your new arrangement on the cabinet...make summer gardening a little reminder. The little stick leg birds are SO cute and I think I'm going to sneak in and steal that gate! ;-D
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
There is always so much to love at your house. The door, shutter, gate...everything always looks beautiful! Can't wait to see what you do with your birdcage this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSo much chippy fabulousness Kris! I love the stair rail on the cabinet and know that you will create a fab Christmas vignette with the birdcage! I have a large one (not as big as yours) that a friend gave me a couple years ago for my birthday. Planning on using it for Christmas also. I love your gate white! Makes me wonder if I should paint mine?
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I still love that birdcage. You have made such a cute room!
ReplyDeletei cannot tell you how pretty your entertainment center looks, kris. and the wall with the door, shutter, shelf and gate is just darling:) and the birdcage will make a great focal point where ever it ends up.

ReplyDeleteLove the gate, love the door, love the railing over the media center . . . the big bird cage is wonderful, but you are right, sometimes things just don't work even if you love them.
ReplyDeleteIt's heavenly :) I LOVE that old chippy gate the most!!!
ReplyDeleteYour gate vignette is wonderful. Did you put the tin ceiling tile on the little stool? Great!
