Entertainment Cabinet and Entry Way

Happy beginning of the week.

I made some changes to the living room above my entertainment cabinet and also the entry way.

Remember my big birdcage I got at the flea market.  While I love this piece it was really massive to be on top of my entertaiment cabinet.  Even with my husband cutting it to make it fit I still could not embrace how big it was.  Plus it was hard to see the pretty things inside.  So down it came.
I am going to use it at Christmas time I think out on my porch.
I had this old stair rail so I hung that and then used my love of garden things to decorate with the nest theme.
I am liking that this space is now filled with all the things I love about gardening.
I love my "bless this Sweet Nest" sign with the old chippy frame.  My chippy box filled with greens and white roses and my little chippy birds.
Now on to the entry way.  A few change ups here.
I moved the old cottage door down the wall and then put the old chippy shutter and birdhouse next to it on the wall.
I hung this old chippy gate and moved out my little chippy benches to put with it.  Then I added some fall decor to the benches.

There you have it some changes to the entry way coming into my home and also the entertainment cabinet got a make over.

Have a great week.  Hope to have the master bedroom reveal up soon.
Kris

  4. I like the entertainment center much better with the new arrangement. I like the bird cage but it was just to top heavy on the entertainment center. The entry hall looks terrific. Kris you have such a knack for putting things together. Would have never thought to use that gate, but I really like it.
    Have a great week.

    1. Hi Debbie,
My husband actually made a cleat to hang on the wall. It is a piece of wood that is anchored into the studs of the wall and then he hung the doors onto that to make sure they were secure. This way too you do not have a million holes in the wall. He hooked the doors together with crown molding which helps to secure them too. Hope that helps. Hope you come back to read this comment. You are a noreply comment blogger so I had no way to email you. Good luck.

  16. I have been noticing a few tiny benches around the blog world. I would like to get 2 or 3 for myself. Haven't seen any in our area though. On to the hunt!
Can't wait to see the birdcage outside at Christmas.

  19. I've just caught up with your last few posts, Kris! I just love what you are doing with your bedroom! Looks like we are both loving the gray look, and gosh, I wish I had bought some of that Annie Sloan chalk paint when I was out your way! The nightstands look gorgeous. And I'm loving your new arrangement on the cabinet...make summer gardening a little reminder. The little stick leg birds are SO cute and I think I'm going to sneak in and steal that gate! ;-D

  21. So much chippy fabulousness Kris! I love the stair rail on the cabinet and know that you will create a fab Christmas vignette with the birdcage! I have a large one (not as big as yours) that a friend gave me a couple years ago for my birthday. Planning on using it for Christmas also. I love your gate white! Makes me wonder if I should paint mine?
