I thought I would share a post today with some changes I made to our bedroom. I love for this room to be soft and cozy and feel like a sanctuary at the end of the day.
Then I added some outside plant hangers to give some character to the window and to hold the new curtain pole for the burlap valances. |
I just think they add some romance to the boudoir!!!!! |
The hubby put a dimmer switch on so they are bright or not so bright. I like that I can adjust the amount of light. |
I got a new pillow that said heart to heart. Loved that it could match up with my two french love letter heart pillows I already had. |

ReplyDeleteHi love it all it looks stunning-love dee x
ReplyDeleteKris, love the curtains and the chandeliers are gorgeous! The best part is that you got them for a great price! I'm looking for a chandelier like that for my guest bedroom. Are you sure you need 3 for your room :) Are the curtains made from a real painting drop cloth? I hear lots of folks talking about making things from drop clothes. Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteYour room is really pretty! I love the doors for the headboard.
ReplyDeleteso sorry about your friends! I love your bedroom chandeliers! does your husband do electrical? that is so handy! your bedroom is so feminine yet still calming. love the ruffled valance.
ReplyDeleteYour room is so pretty, Kris! I love your new chandeliers. I am in the midst of doing things over in our bedroom since we got a new bed ~ King Size, which has just thrown everything off!
ReplyDeletefirst, so sorry for your loses last week, kris. it's rare to find two matching chandys--how lucky you found some! they look so very charming! love the ruffles on your window, and the cute pillows:) wishing you a better week:)
ReplyDeleteI love the changes that you made! Very subtle yet they carry a big impact! Those big, ruffled valances are so incredible! I need to learn to make some for our room! oh my gosh! The sun just peeked out! Haven't seen it in like a week! Maybe now I can finally put out that pumpkin project I mentioned before we went to the beach. It's just rained so much that I would have gotten soaked and it would have washed away! I'd better get at it Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteOops! I accidently deleted my comment as I was typing it the first time and when I redid it, I forgot to include how sorry I am for the losses you suffered last week. Prayers to you and your family for healing and peace. xoxo
DeleteEverything looks fantastic. Love the new chandeliers. Did your DH hardwire them in? It is so expensive to hire an electrician. I noticed you have decorated above your armoir. I have the same armoir, but I don't have anything to put up there. I will have a look around the house to see what I can find.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will find sunshine this week after such a trying last week. Get extra hugs from that good man of yours.
*Hugs*
Gosh darn! Totally forgot about Grey's Lake. I decided to check out LaPorte, IN and even though I enjoyed the drive, with little traffic, there wasn't much to see. It's the last one of the season so I think that had something to do with it. Those chandeliers are drool-worthy! And to have a hubs who can do the electrical... lucky on both counts. The chair with all those yummy, flouncy pillows made me smile! I'd say you did a good job creating some romance there, girl!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris. That was a great find and they just add to the prettiness already there. I have joined up to receive your posts through e-mail. Now I won't miss a one..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteKris your bedroom is so romantic. Those chandeliers are so beautiful and add so much. I am really digging the headboard too!
ReplyDeleteCynthia

ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your losses last week. Perking up your sanctuary is the perfect prescription. I especially like the two heart pillows with the newest one, which connects them very sweetly. Hope you can enjoy this week more.

I love the chandeliers. Your room has so much white, I would have to toss in some more colorful pillows, some paintings, little touches like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love those chandeliers, what a lucky find! They go perfectly in your room, it looks like such a peaceful retreat, you have done a beautiful job on it.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,

I'd never want to leave the bedroom! What a wonderful find in those chandeliers, they go in your dreamy bedroom so beautifully. And I'm in love with the ruffled valances... think I need to pick up some more drop cloths. I made my curtains drop cloths and think they would make sweet ruffles as well!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pendra

ReplyDeleteYou sure did create a sanctuary to come home to! It all looks just wonderful. All the chandeliers look perfect together - what a great find at the flea market! I like the doors headboard. Did you make it? I need to make a creative space in the unfinished part of the basement and thought if I added white doors like that, they might brighten it up. Have a great day and thanks for visiting me!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love your head board and all 3 chandeliers!

So sorry for your loss, Kris. That's certainly never easy and always leaves a hole in the heart. I love your new chandies. I've been looking for one for the bathroom but haven't found anything yet. They seem to be overpriced at Kane County Flea Market but I'll keep looking. Love that you put yours on a dimmer switch. Great idea!

Dear Kris,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your bedroom!!! It is gorgeous!!! I just wrote a note to Pamela, and realize I could just copy and paste the same question to you, if you don't mind! Here is what I wrote: (except the room I am wondering about for you is the color of your bedroom walls.....):
Hi Pamela,
Well, have just spent a lovely evening looking at your blog, this blog, and lots of other blogs of commenters! And having lots of fun! I have a quick question, may I ask what paint color that is in your last picture on this post? It is the room that could be a family, or living room. And it has a kitchen off behind to the left, and the couch is kitty corner in the room. If you can, would you email me, to let me know please? I would be so grateful! We painted recently and my tan is PINKish, and I just hate it!!! So I am planning on painting soon! Well, hope you are able to help!
If you would email me back that would be wonderful!!! Hoping to hear from you!!
Thanks & hugs from Michigan,
Diane Carlson
Oops - maybe that notify me thingey would work..... - never have understood it!
ReplyDeleteDiane C.

Graciousness, Kris! Ur killing me §:-)
ReplyDeleteI am planning to put a door as a headboard on my daughter's room (now a guestroom) but seeing this? I will definite, grab your idea and put into my BR. In fact, I want to change the style as I am in a cottage moody style. Duno what am talking about either. But I know when doors stand together, it will be as perfect as yours. Our nightstand is like yours since awhile now.
I love and drooling your ideas. Blesses U, dear.
