Glazing is not just for donuts!

Happy Sunday everyone.  So excited we are getting closer to Spring.  We are still having colder temps here in Chicago but hopefully not for much longer.

I thought I would show you some of the no cost redo in my living room.  I decided to bring back in some of the creams and beige along with my white and grey.

It all started with a new chair for Christmas.

Remember this sweet little cream chair that I got as a Christmas gift from the hubby.  Kim from Feathered Nest out in Morris recovered this beautiful Chair and Ottoman.  That girl is so talented and love, love  her shop.

Love this sweet little comfy chair to relax and read.

Ok lets get started.  So these are not just the only things that is fun and yummy with glaze.
I decided to use my Rustoleum Glaze Java Brown to make some of the living room pieces that were white a little more cream and antiqued.

I had this glaze from when we did our kitchen a few years ago.  It came in the cabinet painting kit we bought at Home Depot.

Easy Peasy to use.  Just brush it on the white painted piece and then took a rag and wiped it off.  It creates a nice antique look over painted surfaces.

I think some of you remember my Armoire was white, the old vintage door was white and my chandelier and medallion were all white in the living room.  So I took the Rustoleum Glaze and painted it on and then wiped it down with a rag.  It gave the pieces a little more warmth and charm.

It is amazing what wiping a little glaze on to the chandelier and medallion did.  It gave a nice patina to them.

Love this old chippy church window that hangs above my chair.  The rusty hearts I got at Junk Jubilee in Iowa last fall.

 I loved putting this little metal heart wreath and metal cone with flowers on the armoire doors.  Just gives a little character to the big armoire.

Used the same glaze on this old door I got for $40 dollars.  Love this old chippy piece of history.  Love it even more with it's glaze treatment.

I had this old heavy cast iron mail box and thought it would look pretty great on this old door.  Just added some spring flowers to the mailbox.

Love my little chippy ladder for a side table.

The glaze is pretty easy to work with and gives you great results.

My new ottoman I made out of the old dining room chairs.

Started to get out the little easter bunnies for Spring on the ottoman.

Drapes I had in the dining room a few years ago.  Hung them on my large windows in the living room.

With all the natural light that comes in this room it is hard to get a good picture of the drapes.  They really tie in the cream to the whites nicely.

Now with the creams coming back into the living room it is starting to feel like the perfect nest.

My little love birds would love to see some Spring here in the Midwest.  We all are longing to see the snow and cold go away and have sunshine and spring flowers blooming.
