Remember this:
It is now this:
A New Coffee Bar. |
I have lots of storage in these little drawers in this buffet table for napkins and k-cup refillers and teas, etc. |
Remember this old chippy post I got at Anne's (White Lace Cottage) Vintage Home Sale. I was not sure what I would do with it just knew I needed this chippy piece. |
Terry and his trustee tools cut the post in half so I could frame out the chalkboard space of the coffee bar. Thanks Anne. I knew I would find a good use for that chippy post. |
Le Cafe hanging basket to put muffins and bakery items. I am going to fill these with cute french linens too. On the hunt. |
Cute creamer and also cow candle sticks and a cute cow creamer. |
A little chalk board paint and an old chippy frame. |
Now I have a nice place for desserts and yummy coffee's and Latte's when I have guests or it is just Sunday morning with just Terry and I.
The fun part about all of this is I do not drink coffee. Never could get a grip on the taste of coffee. Believe me I have tried through the years to like it. Even with all the yummy creamers just could not embrace the taste.

Love the smell of coffee brewing just not the taste.
I am a tea drinker and love the chai tea's I can make in my Keurig.
Now Keurig has so many great choices for cold or hot drinks.
So that is what I did this past week end. Love my new coffee bar. Now who is coming by for a cup of Joe!
Have a great week.

Love your new coffee bar...so clever!!!

That's such a great idea! I love the chalkboard you created behind it. I love coffee, so if I came over I would love to use your coffee bar! I have a Keurig too and it's so nice to be able to use it so many different ways, isn't it? It's much more than a coffee maker.
ReplyDeleteI would love to stop by! Such a cute idea, Kris...love the chalkboard!!

Hi Kris,
ReplyDeleteLet's see I think I could make it back to Illinois in October! :) LOVE your coffee bar and the fact that it was a joint project with your hubby. It's so fun to work together! You did such a beautiful job. Have a wonderful day!
Kathleen
Wow, wow and wow!!!!....Just magnificent Kris!...love, everything about it...from that gorgeous chalkboard, to the chippy posts to the wonderful accessories.....Facebooking!!!...Just have to share!!!
ReplyDeleteYour coffee bar is perfectly shabby down to the last detail, amazing and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris! I love it! What a perfect addition to your dining room. Not only is it useful but it is FUN, too. My friend who hates coffee is now addicted to the one I got her started on....Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha. She swears it is NOT coffee....lol
ReplyDeleteYou can drink your tea and I will drink YOUR coffee if I ever get there!;>) xo Diana
ps. I have the little "headache/stuffy" thing going on today thanks to SweetCheeks & Co. Off for more Tylenol.
Bonjour Kris,
ReplyDeleteSo that's what you and Terry were working on! Love, love, love it! Ya know Kerig sells hot chocolate K-cups and I can see you switching it out for Christmas. This is all so fun and whimsical and I love it all, the adorable canisters that wonderful wire two tier basket, just everything!
Your cottage embraces with fun, creativity and kindness,
XOXO,
Vera
this is so much fun! I'm a coffee lover from forever, but gotta do decaf, now.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I don't drink coffee, but that precious Coffee Bar would tempt me. Or, I could make hot chocolate there.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea and always with perfect details.
Love it!
I am so coming over )
ReplyDeleteI am a fool for coffee and have been all my life. Having been introduced to it by my Granddad's housekeeper at the delicate age of 4, it has been an all time favourite !
Oohhh, Chai! Coming from a Punjabi family Chai is a staple! But my Uncle makes the best in my family... the man is a tea whisperer.
I'll be right over Kris ;-) LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be by tomorrow morning bright and early lol It's a beautiful take on the coffee bar! Great use of the chippy post. And as I always say, you can never have too many chalkboards. You're so funny, I don't like coffee either! In a way I'm glad I don't when I see all those moms lined up at the Starbucks drive-thru in the morning waiting for their $4.00 high calorie coffees. Figure I've saved a bundle (in both dollars and calories!) I've always been a tea drinker, used to use loose teas and only real china B.C. (before children). Now I use tea bags - Earl Grey - and the biggest mug I can find! My decadent afternoon treat in the winter is vanilla caramel tea with a Coffee House vanilla caramel coffee creamer. Oh, and a piece of chocolate, of course:) I think I'll go make a cup right now!

Absolutely amazing!!! Just love the idea of coffee bar! Le cafe baskets are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWe have something in common, I also don't drink coffee, I have tried to like it, but I can't stand it. I am a tea girl. However, I love coffes smell, and I love coffee cakes:-)
Greetings:-)
Oh my gosh. Love love love!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Really gorgeous! I'm in love!
ReplyDeletePerfection Kris!!!! I l love this so much! And it's so funny that you don't like coffee. I've had coffee AND a chia tea today. I'd definitely hang out at your coffee bar! You and hubby did an amazing job on this! Love how the black chalkboard pops in all the white.
ReplyDeleteJust the cutest spot to wake up and have a great cup of coffee! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Darling! Funny, I don't do coffee either, however I have tried, people have encouraged me to grow up and drink it, but my stomach just can't deal with it (or tea). It's just water for me, maybe I can create a really cool water bar in my dining area?!?! Love your space, you are just too creative! Well, and Terry does help :) Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLove it, Kris! That chalkboard is great. LOL that you don't like coffee and have a coffee bar. In our house my hubby is the tea drinker (can't stand coffee) and I am the coffee drinker (I only drink tea when my stomach doesn't feel so good), but it is probably good to have a little bit of everything ~ including hot chocolate ~ for when you have guests over, too.
ReplyDeleteI'll be right there, Kris! This is a crazy good project...you did a WONDERFUL job on this!
ReplyDeleteYes, please, to the coffee (or chai tea), and the coffee bar. What can I say that hasn't already been said? That'll come in so handy for family gatherings as well as when it's just the two of you - another great project by the dynamic duo.
ReplyDeleteWow, Kris, your coffee bar is perfect! Fun and decorative too!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, OMG I love this. What a great addition to your dining room. Each detail is perfect. I just have to go back and look at your pics again.
ReplyDeleteSo funny you don't like coffee. I never drank coffee either till just a few years ago. I discovered french vanilla flavoring and that's the only way I can drink it. Guess I'm a wimpy coffee drinker. LOL LOVE the chalk board.
Hugs
Oh my how delightful! Seriously looks like a French cafe. So cute, I love it Kris.
ReplyDeleteEvening Kris, We must be on the same "designing decor page"!! I am planning something similar to this in front of my open cupboard under one of the two chandys. My mind has been toiling over and over on where to start with this! I had to smile when you said "you don't drink coffee but have tried for years, but love the smell....Me too!! I LOVE what you have designed!! It is fabulous....such a great look! It may take me a bit longer to get something together but you have inspired me~~~Blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteI love your cattle mug. Where did you find it? I just love it.
ReplyDeleteI like how you did this, it is so cute and yes, I would love to come over and have a cup of Joe. :-)
Very fun!!
Love your coffee bar!! I don't like to drink coffee either and I tried really hard to like it. I would put in so much sugar and creamer...and still couldn't drink it, but I do like tea...hot or cold.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy
Such a lovely coffee and desserts corner! It will be a pleasure for your guests!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Alessandra
so adorable, kris! and it will be a big hit with the holiday get-to-gathers coming up:)
ReplyDeletehow do you keep coming up with these darling ideas??? This is just way too charming and I love it! You can use it for a dessert bar, champagne bar, cheese bar ....oh the possibilities are endless. xo
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely coffee bar Kris. I love how Terry was able to incorporate the chippy post too. I 'd love to have coffee at your cottage!
ReplyDeleteHugs- Kerryanne
Oh Kris, this coffee bar looks amazing!!! I can just smell it brewing now....and you've paid such attention to detail - everything a coffee (or tea) drinker would want is here. I think I would spend 20 minutes just ooohing and aaaahing over the set-up before I even thought about having a mug. :) Funny, I'm not a huge coffee drinker, either. I much prefer tea, but do love the smell of coffee and some of those flavored coffees like pumpkin spice. Ahhhh....so nice to have fall in the air. Your coffee station will be a big hit this season!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThat is so uptown cute
I will be right over ;-) .Looks great Kris especially with that awesome post....wink...wink!
ReplyDeleteKris, love, Love, LOVE this!! Can't wait to have my cup o' joe there soon!! ;)
ReplyDeleteSusan
Incredible! This couldn't be more you, Kris. You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteMy MIL forced me to have coffee with her and then I was hooked.
So glad she did. ;)
I just love the happy places in your home.
Kris, you are the Queen of clever!!! Love this space and all you have done. The baskets are just too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteCindy
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I would love to sit here and have a coffee and cookie. I am a coffee-holic. But I love the look of all things tea. Can't stand tea. lol
ReplyDeleteThis is one sweet coffee bar. You two did good.
*Smiles*
Saying fantastic doesn't even convey how FANTASTIC that turned out.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute, Kris! I love this. You really should come and share this post as well at Every Room In The House. So inspiring!

I had to laugh that you have the cutest coffee bar around and don't like coffee! :) I am a tea drinker too--I always enjoy coffee when someone else makes it though. Like you--I love the smell of it. Anyway--this is so adorable you may just have to develop a taste for coffee! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so cute :) I have no idea how you come up with all these brilliant ideas, you must lay awake in bed at night thinking them all up.
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your cute coffee bar at my party this week. Hey, we have another thing in common, I don't drink coffee, but love the smell of it too:) Like how you used that old column that you got from Anne...looks perfect there. Take care and enjoy your tea!
Blessings,
Linda
Absolutely adorable!!! I want one when I find my dream house!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee either (I drink my caffeine cold... Coke), but I LOVE what you have done. You are just to stinking creative!!! I love how you used the spindle to create the sides of your chalkboard... I LOVE just about anything chalkboard! I have always loved your shelves and how you decorate them, I just adore the jars, doilies and old silverware and your collection of white ironware is so beautiful. I have got to hit the thrift stores more, they have bins of old silverware, and I'm not to proud to dig and I have found some great white iron/stoneware there too! Thanks for sharing as always my head is spinning with ideas!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris I love it! It turned out perfect. Mine would have to be a cappuccino bar. Thank for partying at my place!:)
ReplyDeleteI'll be right over! Kris, what a creative and charmingly lovely space! I love the chalk board there...it makes the space pop.
ReplyDeleteKris, what a cute space! I love the use of the chippy post. I too never pass them up. I am not a coffee drinker either, but like you; love the smell of it brewing. The baskets are going to be so wonderful with linens and pastries! Thanks for sharing with sYC.

ReplyDeleteKris....this was such an amazing coffee bar that I finally took the plunge and figured out where to put a coffee bar in my house. I have seen many lovely ones on Pinterest but it was not until I saw yours that I was so excited I could hardly stand it!!! My daughters both have a coffee bar and I loved the idea but was never sure where I could pull it off! My husband came home one night and noticed a bare space in the small room off our kitchen....he said are we getting a new piece of furniture....to which I replied yes but I have to find it first. The best part was that when I told my neighbour what I wanted to do and the size of dresser I was looking for she immediately offered me an old dresser from her attic....what a sweetie......and at no charge, she just wanted to get rid of it.well the last few weeks has found me chalk painting the dresser and setting up my coffee bar. You can see it on my blog at k-bees timeless elegance. Thanks so much for being such an amazing source of inspiration. Btw my coffee bar looks completely different from yours but every morning when I get up it puts a smile on my face! Karen
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh! Do I love this? Oh yes!!!! This is incredible! How cute! How functional! How clever of you two to create what a neat piece for your dining room! Fabulous! Can you tell I'm excited? LOL! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteLove your coffee bar! Absolutely beautiful! Where did you get your birdhouse. I have a spot that would be perfect for it. Please email me--kbogan33@yahoo.com. May you have a very blessed day!
ReplyDeleteLove this I am doing this in my dining/coffee room now I have everything just not the chalk board but will have. Love your so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHello! This is beautiful! I was wondering if you could tell me where you found those amazing long white shelves
ReplyDeleteMy husband made them. He used wood flat pieces and used crown molding to frame them. Hope that helps.

ReplyDeleteI've never seen something so amazing. I could snuggle up in that white chair in the corner sipping tea and taking it all in, for hours. I just recently purchased an old cabinet that I am converting into a tea hutch. I'm struggling with accessories to add dimensions and that's how I fell on your post after searching for ideas. I know you made this post many years ago but I am curious if you can direct me in a place where I'd be able to possibly find your white tray (that your creamers are sitting on) as well as your Le Cafe basket (or something similar). It's crazy all the google searches I have done!
ReplyDeletekkempiak@hotmail.com (is where you can answer, if you don't mind).
