Hi Everyone.
Yep! I am thinking about getting the Christmas Decor started. I have my annual Girlfriend Charity Party the first Friday in December and I have a lot to prepare for this special night so the earlier I get my Christmas decor done the better.
My daughter hosts Thanksgiving so that gives me the freedom to start my decor early.
I wanted to give you a sneak peak at something I just got from a show my friend and I went to recently.
I am going to add some red to my whites for Christmas. I am excited to work with the traditional reds added in this year.
Remember my $2.79 table clothes I found on clearance. Well....... |
Yep I sewed them into some Christmas Panels for the dining room. I can sew a straight line with my sewing machine so two straight lines you you have yourself a nice checked Christmas Panel. |
This is a cute pillow I got at Christmas at the Farm show I recently went too with a friend. I loved that some of the proceeds went to help animal shelters. |
Adding some traditional red to my whites this year. |
Enjoy the week.
Ughh!!! We could see a little bit of this stuff this week too!
Oh say it isn't true!!!!Be sure to come back on Saturday Susan and I have two wonderful bloggers for you to get to know in Spotlight. |

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pillow! And great job on the panels - don't ever say you can't sew, girl. We know better!
ReplyDeleteI love how you added red to decorate your home:) Looks lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE the red and white checked curtains you made. Red looks so good against all of your white! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do this year. That is the cutest pillow you bought too. I just saw on the news that you were going to get hit with some freezing weather soon. I know you're dreading it. Now, that ought to put you in the Christmas spirit even more! We are supposed to get much colder too, but no snow.
ReplyDeleteI don't use red in my house, but it is gorgeous in yours! Those tablecloths made perfect Christmas curtains and your pillow is simple and sweet. Red is my BFF's color, so I go over and enjoy it at her house during the holidays. I can't wait to see the rest of your decor for the holidays...you have started a peppermint wonderland!
ReplyDeleteLove your red...so pretty!

ReplyDeleteI would love to start decorating my home for Christmas, but first it needs a really good deep clean...so off to cleaning I go! Your tablecloth curtains turned out great and that pillow is super cute.
Blessings,

Love love love that you are adding some traditional red to your Christmas this year Kris!... although I love seeing everyone's whites, I have to have color in my life... and I have always used traditional Christmas reds and greens, along with my lifetime of vintage Christmas ornaments... your checked panels are gorgeous and I love your little pillow... xoxo... Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteYes!! Come to the other side and add that red in there. :) I can't live without it!
ReplyDeleteI love what you are doing so far. You can keep the snow...just saying. No thanks. Once a year in January is good for me.

ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
ReplyDeleteYup to the Artic blast for Philadelphia too - to arrive in a few days! I love red and white at Christmas and your introduction of red for Christmas is exciting. Your panel turned out great and pillow is oh so cute! I love ticking fabric and checks! I am staging a couple Messengers vignettes for my post next week and so yes I have a Christmas/wintertime theme starting to appear. But most will not be started until Thanksgiving week. Your tease for you Christmas decor has certainly perked my interests! It's going to be a fun reveal.
xoxo,
Vera
Kris...sorry for not getting by more often! It's so great you start decorating early. I plan to as well. I can't keep waiting to get the darn tree!! We still get a fresh one and it feels odd to decorate until the tree comes around the 10th.
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains...how cute!! I'm adding some red and green to my family room, I have white slipcovered furniture in there so I can do what I want. I found some great priced pillows and throws at Homegoods. Let the fun begin! :)

ReplyDeleteI love the curtains! I have been searching for red and white checked tablecloths at a good price so I could do the same thing, but haven't found them yet. Maybe they will still have some at my Steinmart if I'm lucky. I adore red and white! I can't wait to see more of your Christmas decor!
ReplyDeleteI love the red you're bringing in with the curtains! And what a steal of a deal too! Red looks especially good against the white. Love the pillow too and how nice that it helped out an animal shelter. :)

I love the red and white check and with your white it is going to be stunning. The drapes look really good. Anxious to see your Christmas decor. Red is really in this year. Was talking with a designer on Saturday and he said red is really big this year. So I will be in style with my red sectional and Christmas decor. Yea. I have been mulling over some ideas, but have to get 7 wreaths finished for a customer and then I hope to have Thanksgiving week to decorate.
ReplyDeleteStay warm as it looks like your going to get a cold spell.
Mary
Your panel turned out great, Kris! I love it and I can just picture your home with the red and white this year. I can't wait to see more. I have no idea what I'm doing yet.
ReplyDeleteI love the red and white, and can't wait to see what you do with it all. I sure wish I would have found that great bargain :)
ReplyDeletedarling curtains, kris--see you can sew:) love the 25 on the cute pillow, too! try to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYou're so smart! And the red and white looks so cheery for winter. I can't WAIT to decorate! I might start any time! heehee! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be perfect....I just know it! Sometimes it's good to shake things up a bit. It's funny you are adding the cheery red. When I did my booth yesterday which has a french country vibe I did add in some bright red.....just a touch... a sweet red and black buffalo checked bear and a bright red reindeer pillow. I sure hope that white stuff is not around when I come up there. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove it Kris, perfect touch. That pillow is so pretty. I have my ideas ready to go Friday after Thanksgiving
ReplyDeleteCindy
Kris, I just have one word. PERFECTly lovely!! Those are great curtains and I think your home will be so festive with the addition of red..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI really love that 25 pillow- might have to make myself one.
ReplyDeleteI want to decorate for Christmas, but we have Thanksgiving at our house this year so it will have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving.
Well you know that this red lover is pleased as punch!! I haven't started yet, but oh the thoughts are brewing in my head! lol! I love mixing things up a little each year so I've been thinking about what changes I want to make, I have a pillow with 25 on it that will be new to me this year also. I bought the kit and hadn't got around to make it so I gave it to my cuz to finish for me. She gets bored now and then and is looking for something to do.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I don't start decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving usually. This year I am just not ready for the holidays.....I need more time to prepare mentally! LOL....Anyways, love your touches of red you are using this year. The red checked curtains are going to be so cheery! Can't wait to see it all :o)

I love red!! I also adore black & white with some gold. :) That pillow is awesome! You are so creative to make the panels from the tablecloths and wow, how economical! I'm sure your party is going to be delightful...please be sure and show us photos after, ok?
ReplyDeleteIt's really, really cold here right now ~ the "Polar Vortex" seems to have affected the whole U.S. Much too early I think ~ 80 here one day and then freezing temps the next. That's Texas though ~ :) Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
xo
Pat
I love those red checked curtains! How clever! That little pillow is so sweet too. I think I need to start making things now to save for next year because no matter how early I start thinking about things, I never get everything made/done that I want to and now it's over :( Looking forward to seeing your other decorations! Hugs, Leena
