I love that refrigerator that was your inspiration, Kris! I had pinned that myself. We have stainless appliances, too, which the hubby wanted, but personally, I don't really care for them. I love how you've covered yours up this way. It suits your home and your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris, that looks amazing! Now you just inspired me to try it on my dishwasher. Thank you again. I am so honored.

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that is gorgeous! I would never have thought.... Now you have me thinking... I found you via Wow Us Wednesday today :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
ReplyDeleteWell that is just fabulous!! I am speechless actually. I want to do mine now :) can you share how you attached it? I just know a bunch of us would try this. Thanks Kris, have a great day
Hi Deezie,
DeleteIt is pretty easy to do. My hubby took a piece of thin mdf cut it to fit the front of the dishwasher and then we attached all the framing and staircase for the handle onto this piece of board. He removed the stainless steel handle on the dishwasher and used those holes to attach the piece of wood with the new handle. So nothing had to be changed on the original dishwasher allowing us if need be to put the old handle back on and bring it back to the original look. Hope that helps. If you need any more info just email me and I would be glad to answer any questions.
Kris
I LOVE this! I saw Victoria’s fridge and loved that and instantly thought of my dishwasher too! I love what you did with the frames and leg is Award Winning for the chippy farmhouse category! I don’t have a removable protruding handle on my dishwasher so have been stuck on how to mount this. Did Terry use some Command picture hanger strips too for the lower body of it or how did he attach it other than via the handle? Not sure how well those strips would hold with the heat of the dishwasher. Any thoughts from Terry on a solution for this? Thanks!
DeleteI can't wait to see what you do with your fridge and stove - thanks for all this inspiration!
The first thing we did was to take a piece of thin wood and cut it to the size of the dishwasher front. Painted that white and then attached the frames to the wood with wood staples. Then the two holes that were already attaching the stainless steal handle are the holes my husband used to attach the stair leg for the new handle. He put a spacer between stair leg and thin piece of wood everything is attached too. He used bolts to attached the top of the piece where the handle is and used two sided tape at the bottom and sides of the wood to have it stay in place on the front of the stainless steel front of the dishwasher. This way everything is removable if need be. Pretty easy. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Great and clever idea!! It looks awesome. It inspire me a lot

ReplyDeleteMary @ Orphans With Makeup
It rocks! YOU rock!!! Lovin' your kitchen even more. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,

No way!!! That is the best dishwasher cover I've seen so far. Genius using the spindle as a handle and having it attach to the dishwasher from there. You two are the Dynamic DIY Duo!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Being attached at the top, how does it stop from swaying/moving at the bottom when you open and close the dishwasher? Curious minds need to know ;)
Marie@The Interior Frugalista
as they say in jolly ol' England.....brilliant!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea - I LOVE IT!!!! I think everyone who reads this post will be looking at their dishwasher fronts and thinking about making a change! Just so perfect for your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I would never have thought of the dishwasher as a candidate for a makeover but it is perfect.
ReplyDeleteNow isn't that just wonderful? Yes you are a star today
ReplyDeleteYou thank God for Terry LOL
what I would give for a handy man
That is so great!!!! Love the idea! You have such an eye!
ReplyDeleteKris your dishwasher is so amazing!!! You can not even tell that you have one, and to think that you just have to lift it off. How great is that? You are a genius! Did I tell you that I love It! Jo
ReplyDeleteKris! I think you've started something. This is by far the best appliance makeover! That hubby of yours could make these and sell them. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my, heavens! I'm breathless, Miss Kris! I totally agree with Sherry. . .the best appliance makeover ever and you and Terry could have a side business for sure. I'm pinning this because it's just so doggone awesome! xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! All you need to keep it in place are the two handle screws? No screws in the bottom? It look fabulous and goes so well with the other architectural pieces and that wonderful farm sink! I wish I could add ore interest to mine but I don't think it has a regular handle that comes off. I may be able to take the panel off and replace it with something. Hmmm......I'll have to put my brain to that one! Thanks for sharing another one of yours and Terry's inspirational projects! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh !! Who would have thought !! Love it !! You are so talented !!❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteHugs !

This is truly awesome Kris!!!!...you are right...the dishwasher blends so beautifully with your kitchen....perfection...and how great that you were able to use that piece from Susan...sweet memories of her giving that to you whenever you open the dishwasher!....Between your ideas and your hubby's awesome talent...you two work miracles!!!...Love, love it!!!

ReplyDeletebe still my heart! Just when I've seen everything . . .your dishwasher actually made my heart race. Like when you've had too much coffee.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing. I love it. x3.
How does it come off without making holes in the stainless. Just wondering. I would never change it.
Thanks for the excitement. Beats a rollercoaster any day. lol

ReplyDeleteSo creative and beautiful. Ingenious. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea!! It looks absolutely stunning.. I LOVE It!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Are you worried about the MDF holding up with the moisture?
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,
DeleteThe stainless steel door is still on the dishwasher so this is attached to the outside of that so no water will get to it. So it will hold up great. Thank you for your visit. You are a no reply blogger so I hope you will come back to see I answered your question here. Have a great week end.
Kris
Thanks Kris. I was thinking more every time you open the dishwasher it gets hit with moisture...
ReplyDeleteHi! I would love to do the same because my dishwasher has an ugly dent in it. How did you get your handle off?
ReplyDeleteIt just unscrewed from the other side. Easy Peasy.
DeleteThis does hide things like dents lol!!! Good Luck.
Kris
I'll add a link back, nice job!
