My trip with Terry to Chapel Hill North Carolina was a great couple of days. Terry went through a two day interview process for a position as a Fire Chief. |
While Terry was in the two day assessment center I met up with Shirley from Housepitality Designs. Shirley was the hostess with the mostess! Shirley spent time taking me around showing me some wonderful places to live in the area if Terry is to get this position. The fun part was we had some time to get in some shopping too. I will have a post on Sunday after Spotlight on that. |
On our last night stay Shirley and her husband Tom took Terry and I to dinner at the Fearrington Village Farm that has the most wonderful restaurant. |
These are the resident belted cows that we all affectionately called the oreo cows. |
They also have "oreo" goats on the farm too. |
"Fearrington’s gardens celebrate seasons, holidays, and special occasions and North Carolina’s rich horticultural traditions and plant diversity. The mild climate of the Piedmont region means the gardens are attractive and engaging throughout the year". You can read more about the farm, the restaurant and Inn by going here. |
What a wonderful time for the both of you to meet up and enjoy touring the beautiful area! Enjoyed seeing the pictures of the oreo cows - so cute! I will be praying for you that the Lord's will be done in this situation with all the decisions that need to be made :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's so neat that y'all got to meet up with Shirley and her husband. Shirley has always been the sweetest most gracious blogger and I know y'all had a great time together. Something good will come out of this unsettled time...just hang in there.

Thanks you Lin. It was a bitter sweet trip. Hoping he will get the offer but at the same time I know then I will have to leave my family. So we will see what happens. I know there is a bigger plan here and I just have to be patient to see what will happen.

I love the Oreo animals-how cute they are! Best of luck to Terry.

ReplyDeleteHaving just made a big move, I know the anxiety that come along with it. Praying for the best for you and yours. At least you will have a new canvas to do what you want. Kinda like a new creation. Since our apartment is temporary, I'm not doing much.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the four of you at dinner. What a delightful place and loves those Oreo cows. Sounds like you had an amazing tour and visit in NC. I pray that God will have the perfect plan for you and Terry. Looking forward to your post on Sunday. Snickers is darling and you can tell she is well loved in your family.

How nice to meet up with a fellow blogger to show you around what may be your new town. I bet that made the potential change feel a little less overwhelming. Hoping for the best outcome for you guys!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie,
DeleteIt is less overwhelming to discover and get to see the area but still hoping to find something here so we do not have to leave family and friends. I know there is a plan here so hope it will work out for the best.
Kris
Oreo cows and goats.... how adorable! And to meet up with Shirley and her Mr. Sweet!
ReplyDeletePraying for the best outcome for Terry and you on the interview.
That is awesome Kris! Wishing your hubs the best of luck. We will be in Chicago in a few weeks! If you move the Carolina's you will be closer to us that's for sure. I think a few hours away.
ReplyDeleteIf you do have to move, that is a wonderful area to live in. How wonderful to have had such a fun time with a fellow blogger. Hope it all works out perfectly for you. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteSNICKERS IS A LONG THIN ELEPHANT! WOULD BE FUNNY TO MAKE HER A SNICKERS CANDY BAR.
ReplyDeleteKris, looks like you had a great time with friends and, hopefully, the interview went well. It must be so hard to make a decision like that, although, your new home would be in a beautiful area, but it is hard to think about moving away from the kids. We are only 4 hours away so it isn't too bad to make fast trips sometimes. It will all work out for you, I've no doubt. What an adorable little guy is Snickers..Happy Weekend..Judy
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fun time! It really is a beautiful place. Love those oreo cows too! Good things are on the horizon for you...I just know it! Love the adorable pic of Snickers! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fun trip. Still praying for something closer to home but still what would be best for you two.
ReplyDeleteJudy

ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all the delightful photos on this post, I actually just sat down to check out Friday posts. I love Oreo cows and goats but they can not compare to little adorable Snickers. Kim looks over the moon thrilled with embracing her new little 4 legged sweetie. Kris I keep you and Terry in my prayers and hope you both will be thrilled wereever the offer has you living.
Xoxo,
Vera
So glad you had a nice visit and what great hosts Shirley and her husband were! If you move there at least you'll have friend.. I love the oreo cow and lambs, never seen them before! Even though Snickers might not like it he is adorable as an elephant!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely visit, Kris! I love stories like this. I don't think there are any bloggers close to me, I often think it would be fun to meet up with some of my virtual friends in person. Ah, maybe someday! Fingers crossed for you and Terry...for a position close to home first, though! Cute pup, looks like she's having a ball with her new baby! :) Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful there - and what a sweetheart Shirley is !!!
ReplyDeleteI'm melting over Snickers the Elephant lol

ReplyDeleteSnickers the elephant! So cute! I love dressing up dogs and little kids, even if they do look humiliated half the time LOL! So glad you had such a nice time in NC with Shirley and her husband! I'm tuning on the prayers big time, continuing to ask for Terry to be able to find a job in your area so you won't have to move! Positive thoughts headed your way too! Looking forward to hearing about your shopping trip! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to call home! After seeing the restaurant and the French Laundry store, I'm sure you will love it there if Terry gets the job. Hoping for the best for you although Illinois would be sad to see you go! And how fun that you got to shop with Shirley and go out to dinner together. Snickers is a cutie-pie!!
