Simple Bathroom Cover Up


I have a double shower in my master bathroom that I love but I hate seeing the double glass sliding doors.  I wanted to soften the doors and seeing into the shower.  Terry and I are the only two that really see the shower but I still wanted to look less at the glass doors and soften the double shower somehow.

Here is my solution

Double slider glass doors.






 So my solution was to use these grommet top sheer panels that I had from the bedroom.  They slide easily on the shower rod and they can be opened from either side of the doors.







They just add some softness and hide the glass doors.  Love this new softer look to the our master bath and I did not have to spend any money just rehung some drapes I already had.  



This is another pretty old vintage church window I hung up in my master bathroom.  Love the unique shape and chippiness to this old window.

    Beautiful Kris. Love the soft look. We had the same in our guest bath too and we ended up taking the doors off and added the curtain. Like you said it really softened the look. Love your church window.

    What an absolutely wonderful idea!!! I've noticed that all the home improvement shows are putting in the clear doors for showers now. I honestly couldn't relax for fear of someone walking in on my while I was taking a shower. I don't think my sons would be thrilled with seeing me!!! LOL!!! This way, you keep the curtain open during the day for the glass effect and then pull it over while showering. Brilliant!!! I'll have to keep that in mind while house hunting. Much cheaper then replacing the glass doors!!! : ) Have a beautiful Sunday!! xo

    One of the best tricks out there! Every winter I cover those shower doors and cozy up the bath! I think it looks fabulous! I always use a traditional shower curtain, but I like your panels better. Going to give that a try this year!

      Thanks Kim. They actually slide better on the rod than traditional hooks for a shower curtain. I had these curtains from my bedroom so I thought I would give them a try. Worked great. Just wish I could get a better picture in that room. No natural light. Happy new week.

    Great solution, Kris. I put frosted glass doors in ours and had my son put molding around the top so it looks like a built-in unit. I do like the look sf the tall curtains though. It is very elegant looking. xo Diana

    Beautiful reuse of a pretty fabric to add a romantic soft feel to the shower doors. Am I seeing them spray painted white, the metal surround?
    I love the window, I bet you light a candle when you bath, but better yet a 5 hour timer battery operated candle. I see a bubble bath with Terry and champagne or Prosecco... a relaxing soak in your very romantic private haven.

    I want a bathroom that we do not have to do these xover up.... I have know slidding doors yet not happy with the tub, so I am looking to gut it all, wood up the walls and find a great French buffet for the sink, and ignor the tub. Love how you made your doors and tub disappear behind all the whiteness.

    Soft, romantic, and a place to feel pretty.

    You have a great look there, at minimum fuss, always important! The church window is charming! I do love gothic church windows, mirrors, etc. When we moved here to this 1920 farmhouse we found a few treasures left behind in the smokehouse. One was an enamel red and white old diner table in perfect condition that we had chairs made to match at a company in New England, and the other was a gothic shaped church cabinet hanging on the wall. Actually 2 of them. My husband took the better one and refurbished it and it hangs in our living room now. What were they thinking to leave all these things behind? Also 2 Windsor kitchen chairs in the old 1930s green. Everything came inside with us!

    I hate the look at glass shower doors, so did a similar thing with ours! I bought a shower tension rod and used a white lace shower curtain I'd had in another home and some pretty white rose hooks and hung it up! I then took a white tasseled tie back and gathered it to one side so that we wouldn't have to move it to get in and out of the shower. I loved the way it looked - so soft and much prettier than those old, yucky doors! I guess great minds think alike :) Hugs, Leena
