Hi Everyone. I started some of my fall decor. It is hard to do this when the temps still say summer and the flowers are still hanging in there.
So I just mixed some fall with the summer plants that are still going strong.
|
Not a ton of fall just yet but as you can see the sweet potato vine is still going strong. So I just added some faux pumpkins, wheat stalk and some fall daisies in with the vines. |
|
A little faux with living plants. These are the best kind of pumpkins and fall decor for my home. I have a couple of squirrels that like to eat the real pumpkins. So I cannot put the real stuff out just yet. |
|
A simple fall wreath for the front door. |
|
Just a few touches of fall here and there. Just ignore that key box for the realtors on the door handle lol!
Come back on Saturday I have a wonderful blogger in Spotlight for you to meet.
Sunday's post after Spotlight I will have more of my inside fall decor. Have a great rest of the week and wonderful week end. Kris :) |
Hi Kris, beautiful fall touches. Your potato vine is going strong and looks so pretty with the white pumpkins popped in them.Your porch says welcome fall! Have a great Friday. cm
ReplyDeleteHi Keis, it must be very hard to get into the seasons knowing the house is up for sale on the realtors market?
ReplyDeleteYour welcoming site should add to a homey feeling to any potential buyers. I know it sure would for me!
I am amazed at your sweet potato vine. With all that you accomplish in Each post, I am looking forward to the sale of your home, and your settling I to a new or much older home that you will certainly add your signature style to.
Plus the great job Terry will have, new beginnings are always so exciting.... Don't look back girl, it's only going to get better, and I feel all that is taking place is meant to be, hard to imagine that something great is waiting for you, but I just know you will be sharing every bit the excitement your move will be taking you to.
Love your yellow, never being a big fan of yellow, I am finding myself these days taking more notice of it for my home.
Ps.... I would love it if my home were on the market, forcing me to take a long look at where I really want to be...Hmmmm! Your move is inspiring me to keep a watchful eye open for opportunity :)
See you soon.
Xoxo

I love this, Kris...it is perfect for early fall! Beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteI love how you are gently easing in to fall! It is still 100 degrees or so here so I'm having a hard time getting anything accomplished toward fall decor! Thinking of you and sending prayers! Blessings, Cindy xoxo
ReplyDeleteEvening Kris,
ReplyDeleteUs too with the easing into Fall, reached 90 today again. I love your front door entrance, inviting and fun. I appreciate the Indian Summer - but it's Pumpkin time. I picked up 2 real pumpkins today both Orange, haven't picked up my French White ones yet. but here's a tip on White or French Grey I pour white vinegar from the stem down and allow to dry, the Orange I coat with Louisana hot sauce (like Crystals or Franks) from the stem down. I promise you no Squirrels will chomp on the Pumpkins and remember to recoat after it rains.
I always enjoy your creative touches and love those boots!
xoxo,
Vera
I love how you tucked some white pumpkins in with your sweet potato vine. Your front door area looks very welcoming to prospective buyers!
ReplyDeleteYour touch of fall here and ther is just perfect:-)
ReplyDeleteAnd the entry is very welcoming:-)
Good morning Kris! Same here...warm temps, thunderstorms, and I'm still wearing shorts in the house. It's TOO HOT! But our internal clocks are saying FALL! The animals seem to be a bit confused too, hoping that their efforts to prepare for winter will result in some cooler weather, but no dice. It's still summer here!
ReplyDeleteLooking good my friend!
Good Morning Kris

ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty! Your perspective buyers are going to love the feeling of your home.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty!! I've started a little fall here too. My plants were looking sad...so the mums came to the rescue!
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty, Kris! Look at that sweet potato vine - another winner along with the coleus I love. I really like how you've mixed in faux with real. I am thinking of doing that with some faux Fall leaves/branches I have with the real mum I just planted in our front door urn. I love your "Our Nest" sign - did you make it? Perfect size for over a door or topping off a gallery wall. Your home is looking very nice and welcoming, especially for prospective buyers.
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific WELCOME TO FALL! Gotta love those sweet potato vines. Prolific
little devils. Nice job! Good luck with the showings!

I have such a hard time saying goodbye to our short summers so I haven't started my fall decorating yet. I like how you're "easing" into it - great touches!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren. Summer is still holding on tight here so just a little fall at a time.
DeleteThanks for your visit.
Kris
A very good start to fall, Kris! I really should go the faux route with pumpkins this year. No matter how much hairspray I put on them, they get eaten!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I haven't really started decorating for fall yet either...I'm also in Illinois and this week with the 80's temps it's still summer! :)
Next week is going to be 70's...so still not fall weather either. But I love what you have done, just a few touches makes a great transition!
Good luck with your house sale, I have fingers crossed for you that everything will work out for you! My real estate friend says that the market is pretty good right now...and your home is beautiful!!
Hugs, Kimberley
Thanks Kimberly. Hoping we find the right buyer soon.

ReplyDeleteI just love your sweet tater vine with the white pumpkins in it! That stuff is great - grows like crazy and the color is wonderful! I know what you mean about munching critters! We have a mouse in the garage who ate up my dried corn decorations! Oh well. I guess he was hungry. I want to start decorating too! It dawned on me that tomorrow is the 1st of October already! Wow! I have a few ideas and hope to find the time to get them in. Have a great rest of the week! Hugs, Leena
