Extraordinary Christmas Tree Inspiration

Just a little FYI.  I got the inspiration pictures below from BHG website for their magazine feature on different trees.  They did not have link backs to sources or I would have listed them.  Some of the trees have been watermarked so at least that was good to know which blogger they came from.

I know, I know we have not even gotten through Halloween yet but my decor fun starts with planning out my Christmas Decor.

So today I thought I would post about some Extraordinary Christmas Trees and traditional tree alternatives I found on Pinterest.

If you cannot wrap your head around Christmas decor just yet than it is totally ok to move away quickly from this post!!!!!!!!

Those of you that are starting to think about your holiday decor ideas, please enjoy!

Just a fun alternative to a traditional Christmas Tree.

How about a ladder alternative Christmas Tree.

Creative and Fun

Very simple and different from traditional.

Old green boxes, books, and containers up against a mirror for the illusion of a tree.

Sweet and pretty.

Vintage ornaments shaped into a tree on the wall.

How cute is this tree made to look like a snowman.

Another super cute snowman Christmas tree.  Love the skates for his feet.
Repurposed wood made into a tree.

Book Tree with vintage light bulbs.

Very unique satin pillow tree.

Unique gift box tree.

Is this not super cute and fun.  Love the tutu on the Boston.

How about a sheet with a picture of a tree hung.

Drift wood and shells made into a cute tree to see her post on this please visit here.

Book pages piled into a tree shape in this flower pot.

Nordic version of a Christmas tree.

Sparkles and shinny new with old.

Pretty tulle tree.  Love the vintage silver serving tray this is in.

Old pieces of wood.

Another unique way to make books into a Christmas tree.

Loved this using wine bottles for a tree.

For those of you that stuck around to see all the fun alternatives and extraordinary tree inspiration today in my post, hope you enjoyed the sampling.

I will have a post up soon on different and unique Christmas Tree bases.  I will also show you some of my past Christmas trees and what unique bases I used for them.

Have a wonderful start to the new week ahead.

  1. Cute! I really like the ones with books (that reflective one in the mirror - how clever!). Of course, the tutu one caught my eye, and how easy would hanging a picture of a tree be???
Oy, I'm getting in the mood.....fall seems so fleeting to me, but Christmas, other than the work involved in getting there, just seems to light up great memories of growing up. I like rekindling those memories for my own family.
    Have a great day, Kris.

  2. Kris, I love unusual trees. Shows that anyone can truly have a tree...no matter the size of your home or budget. My husband turned the heat on yesterday. Bummer....I am not ready for old man winter's frosty face. LOL. Hope we all are going to have warmer weather this coming week. I want autumn to last well into the end of November. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  13. I remember making 12 of the tulle trees for a luncheon for my grandmother's 60th Birthday. Her birthday was Dec.18 and always hard to do with the bustle of the holidays....each of the trees had the small glass balls, or the glass bead garland...they were beautiful in white and gold and red. Thanks for the jump back in time, smiles, Sandi

  14. love all the inspiration....maybe I will decorate for the holiday this year. Last year hubby was scheduled for surgery to remove mass from neck...year before was in and out of hospital...and so on. All looks cheery and bright for a festive and calm holiday this year (fingers crossed) So glad you are still doing your holiday decorating, even with the house on the market. Have a nice Sunday.

  15. Kris I think many people on December 26th start to plan out the next year's Christmas theme. You shared lots of inspiration alternative trees but the one that will stick in my mind is the satin pillow tree - I had a chuckle for it would be the ultimate cat's fantasy delight.

  16. I am with you on this, my customers are asking for Christmas ornaments now, so I'm already in the spirit. Halloween is for the kids and is fun but I think Christmas is more my style.

  19. Very fun! I especially like the tulle tree! I could see any of them in the appropriate setting. It's good to think outside the box.:-)

  20. So much eye candies! Don't you think the first tree has that Halloween vibe to it? I love anything involving books so I love all the book trees.

  21. I love the first one, being I happen to love twig trees, and this one makes me feel a bit like tiny Tim and Scrooge like Christmas old world story book.
All the trees here had me in inspiration mode in my head, thinking what do I come up with this year. I know the traditional holiday tree is the popular but, I can't help myself when it comes to art, and anything in the form of it.
Kris, all the banners on the wall trees is really a space saving idea, a theatrical back drop of sorts with presents piled in front...

Love all you inspired here, perhaps a simple Christmas not over thought a few pine breaches in a container of water and a few gifts placed around it is what could end up here, simple un Joyeux Noël with some hand made ornaments.

    See you soon.
    Beautiful days ahead of you.

    Xx

  27. I can't help thinking about Christmas already, just can't. I've already begun listening to Christmas music. I like the ladder tree and have done versions for the porch of it but this would be pretty for the right room. And of course the tree with the beautiful young woman holding the star and the dog in the acrylic chair is darling!

  39. Hi Kris,

Wow! What a pretty prelude to my favourite holiday! These trimmed trees are all creatively beautiful, but my favourites are the one labelled 'White Christmas', the snowman with the red scarf, and the very first one, bare branched but beaming with warmth. Sigh....

    Happy Tuesday!

  43. Hey Kris!

I think this is a great time to start thinking about Christmas because God knows we will have little time later! These are just the neatest trees, I love the really primitive ones with wood slats and twigs. The paper one looks really cute as a desktop tree in hubby's office!

    Thanks! Loving this weather??

  45. Hi Kris! :)
I think about Christmas all year long! My husband says that I should have been born at the North Pole! ;) I have been drooling in Hobby Lobby for weeks now, over all the Christmas décor and trees!
Being from Canada, once Halloween is over I am full on Christmas, because our Thanksgiving is on October...now living in Illinois the US Thanksgiving is in November...so here there is another Holiday in between Halloween and Christmas. Last year I started to decorate for Christmas after Halloween and I think my neighbors thought I was nutty! ;)
I love all the different photos...I have always wanted to do the ladder tree. I loved the big sticks on the wall too...and of course, the drift wood and shell tree. So pretty...I cannot wait!
    Have a wonderful week!
    Kimberley

  46. These are great! Of course I love the Boston in the tutu, but the trees are all so creative and just plain cool! I really like the drift wood one and the one made of strips of reclaimed wood. Oh pooh! I like them all! Yes, it may be a bit early by the calendar, but if you're planning things like this, you really need the idea in your head to give time to collect materials and put it all together! Thanks for this little touch of cheery and bright! Hugs, Leena
