Well one thing lead to another. New sheets had me inspired to change a few things up in the bedroom for the up coming winter.
Paint was involved in this change to the room. This is one of the two night stands and they were painted a light gray. Pretty but..... |
I felt they needed a little brighting for the long winter months. So I painted them back to white. Easy peasy and it gave me a little project to work on. |
Then while at Tuesday Morning this sweet chenille bedspread jumped into my cart! Yep just minding my own business going down the bedding aisle and this sweet love jumped in my cart!!!! Loved the detail of the sweet lace trim. |
The spread has a vintage and soft pattern. |
Now I think the soft gray walls and all the winter whites give my bedroom a serene feel. |
This faux fur gray and white throw gives a little bling to my favorite chair. |

Love the new spread, what a fabulous find and your room looks totally amazing.
ReplyDeleteGREAT new spread. I love how serene and softly beautiful your bedroom feels! I bet Terry sleeps in a WHITE Tshirt and WHITE underwear! Am I right? Or grey? lol
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see MyHero get ALL STEAMED UP over nothing---refer to his tighty-whities as UNDERPANTS....It makes him get all red in the face and defensive...lol
Hope you have a great day- I know it is warm there like it is here, too. All my windows are open! November!!! Hard to believe! xo Diana
Absolutely gorgeous - as usual!! xox
ReplyDeleteYour room looks so pretty! I do love that chenille spread. I might go to Tuesday Morning today...searching for pillows for our guest room.

ReplyDeletelI love the new coverlet you found for your bed. It's so pretty. I also like your fluffy throw. It's always nice to find something you love unexpectedly while out shopping. Some of my favorite things are things that I've not planned for like that.
ReplyDeleteI have three spreads that are of this sort that are vintage, but alas, they are all full size. I will have to put my thinking cap on and figure out how to put them together and make one big one. Thanks for sharing...love the headboard. I'm waffling on buying a posterbed at World Market for the bedroom makeover. We will see. Sandi
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so beautiful and serene...I love it!!!! I would not have been able to pass up the chenille spread either....the crocheted edge is sooooooo pretty.

Hi LIn,
DeleteIt is called Cottage White but has a gray tint to it. It is made by Behr. Hope that helps.
Kris
What a naughty bedspread! It jumped into your cart without asking for your permission first ;). It's very pretty, Kris and your bedroom looks wonderful. It's great that you find some decoration projects you can work on while waiting for your house to be sold.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Julia
SO gorgeous! If only I could talk my man into letting create a "white" decor bedroom. You lucky gals whose husbands just go along.
ReplyDeleteI can see why the spread jumped into your cart - it knew where it belonged!
ReplyDeleteI am not decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving, but I am making Christmas decorations each day. Today I am painting a sign, but I haven't decided what it will say yet.

ReplyDeleteFaux fur... how snuggle is that?! I can pretend... it is a HOT 84 right now, and muggy! Last November came in with frost and nice Fall like temperatures. What's wrong with this one? Sigh... you'd be enjoying it I know...

Kris, I love that spread, so different. Yummy on that furry throw...I love being warm when the winds are howling. It's raining here this evening. Thankful that Ted and I got our leaves raked up and hauled to the neighbor's fields. Hope you are enjoying doing your décor...I know you have missed it. Blessings to you and Terry, xoxo,Susie

The color of grey on your walls in the bedroom are the perfect shade. I have always thought that I couldn't live with grey, but I could definitely live with THAT grey Kris. Your bedroom is GORGEOUS! just like your whole house. (btw) if I lived any closer I would do my darnedest to talk you out of the chenille spread that got you to take it home with you!

ReplyDeleteHi Kris, Just love your beautiful chenille spread. Love how it just jumped in your cart. That's happened to me a time or two. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is gorgeous and so cozy warm for fall, Love the nightstands in white with the grey walls. Just so pretty!
xo
simply lovely. My idea of winterizing the bedroom is throwing a blanket on my bed vs. using only a light top sheet. My husband being ill is frequently cool, while I am a tad bit too warm often. In the summer he is using several blankets and can't tolerate the ceiling fan...I on the other hand have a fan that sits on my night stand that I turn on and off through out the night. I so love our mild California winters that will get down to the 50's at night allowing for cooler sleeping temps in the house. We have a gas fireplace that we use in the front room which warms that 1/2 of the house...hence the bedroom is cool to climb into bed. But...if I was able to dress our master bedroom with our lovely oak furniture again...vs a hospital bed and double bed hand me down....I would want it to resemble your sweet retreat. Once again you have managed to update your surroundings in a lovely fashion. Especially love the faux fur throw and the rascally chenille throw, it just knew it belonged in your home. LOL
ReplyDeleteEverything is gorgeous! There is just something about changing out bedspreads...I have a whole chest full of them in the attic...my husband makes fun of me for having so many "blankies."
ReplyDeleteGood morning dearest Kris! Everything you do is so crisply set, so lovingly presented. I can't wait to have some time to redo my bedroom too, in the holiday spirit!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kris
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so dreamy*** the colors are so soft and just make you want to jump in that gorgeous bed. Love anything faux fur and yours is so perfect for the bed and love the smaller one on the chair. Beautiful room!!!

I'd just love to jump in that bed and take a nap! Love your chenille spread ~ remember when everyone used to have them? It looks beautiful on your bed and the throw looks luxurious. Such a warm and cozy look and feel! Great job on the night stands too. I think the white shows up better against the grey walls. Wish you were nearby...I am trying to update my bedroom! :)

The bedspread has such a lovely pattern!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have about 10 different grays on my bedroom wall and none of them look as soft, pale and light gray as yours! I read that the color is Cottage White, and of course I never even thought to look at the white samples - duh! Back to the store I go, and hopefully Cottage White will look just as perfect on my walls as is does on yours. So in love with that faux fur throw. Your bedroom is the perfect retreat!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful find! Your room looks so inviting and cozy

ReplyDeleteKris! I love how warm and and totally inviting your bed looks! There's nothing better on a dreary night than to snuggle up in a well-made bed! You won't mind if I just slip over and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz LOL! I love how a simple change up like painting the night stands can make such an impact and change the mood of a room! Plus, love the chenille bedspread! Don't you just love it when things jump into your shopping care like that? I brought an old spread like that home from Dad's condo. I've always liked the way they look and feel and am so happy to have it for our room! I also have a couple of faux fur throws. They are so luxurious looking and warm on a cold night! Beautiful room and I'm glad you got a get creative for a bit! Now, tell Libby to stop stealing my covers! LOL! Hugs, Leena
