Ok I am getting too old for this moving and packing stuff lol! I am living in a sea of boxes.
We close this coming Friday on Junk Chic Cottage and will be moving in with my daughter and SIL and granddaughter Abby short term. Hoping the month of February will bring us to a new nest and getting settled in our own place soon.
I wanted to share the new Somerset Home Magazine that just came out. They have some of Junk Chic Cottage feature in this new release.
They featured my nordic chair in their "looking in" feature. |
Also did some of my bedroom decor in the feature too. |
I like Somerset Homes Magazine they always feature a fun amount of DIY's and I find new creative bloggers to follow too.
Look at these cute DIY hangers that are featured. |
Congratulations on the features, so well deserved. Good luck with finishing up the move and hopefully you will have a permanent nest to start on soon.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature and I hope you find a new home soon. Miss your lovely posts!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, jipppiiiiiiajeeeeeeeeeeeej. And i wish you the best for your future!
ReplyDeleteHow neat! Congratulations! I saw that magazine for the first time in a checkout at Michaels, but didn't have time to look through it, because their line moved faster than their normal. :) I didn't know they had a "home" magazine too. Packing is so much work. I remember I packed what I wanted most first, and so on, and what was left was donated. It's quite an ordeal. The magazine feature is a treat for you. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteI know you can't wait to have all of this bad stuff behind you! I'm so impatient and I would be going crazy if this was happening to me. At least you have your health and a roof over your head. I guess that's more than some people have. I hope 2016 is YOUR year! Congrats on being featured in that magazine too!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your move. I'll be doing the same in a few months (hopefully) and have started packing up some things already. I heard that our Fire Chief here in Elmhurst is retiring at the end of February and thought of you. Your husband may already know about the open position.
ReplyDeleteI love the features, Kris~ so fun to see your pictures in print! Oh, those boxes, that doesn't look very fun at all. I hope you guys get settled very quickly and in the meantime, enjoy Abby! How fun to have so many sleepovers with grandma!
ReplyDeleteMoving does seem to get harder and harder as we get older. I hope you are settled in a new home of your own soon. Congratulations on the well deserved features. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear an update. I am sure all the packing is daunting but just imagine the fun you will have when you open all those boxes and get to "discover" your treasures all over again!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris - CONGRATULATIIONS on being published - you're a star!
ReplyDeleteEverything you do is inspiring - love the chair!
I wish we could get that mag here - I subscribed to Somerset Life for a few years - it was so expensive though - I felt guilty.
I put that money towards ny annual France trips to see my three granddaughters!
Packing up and cleaning is the worst part of moving - hang in there chickadee - I just know there's another little house waiting for you to find it and make into new Kris and Terry home!
We all miss you too!
Love and hugs
Shane xxx
Kris,
ReplyDeleteAhh but the unpacking when you find your new home will be fun! Congrats on your latest feature and soooo can't wait to see your "décor crazy" (you crack me up calling it that) in your future home. Sending my love,

Mary Alice
Good luck moving:)
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking of moving to CO - but the very thought of packing gives me great anxiety! Kris - you are so talented and such a giving woman. I just know your new home will be gorgeous. May the Lord Bless you both - Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteMoving is no fun, of that I speak with great experience, having done that this past summer, and the sight of those boxes does make me shudder a bit! I do hope that you will be able to make it through as best possible this season of change! Enjoy the time with your daughter and granddaughter, and I will be praying your move ends soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kris..
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to hear from you and know how you're doing! I've been thinking of you wanting to e-mail. Partly because I picked up the autumn issue of Somerset Life ..annnd... :) I found the most wonderful feature of your lovely home! And I thought it was so special to have all of that creativity and warmth captured in a magazine ..Forever.. and now, here you are. Featured again! Congratulations, sweet friend! A bit of cheer for you, I hope. You're still in my prayers.. I'm sorry that this is taking so long. I'm sure that God has a very special plan for you both. But being in limbo and waiting for so long must be very discouraging and frustrating. I'm glad that the packing is coming a long. It's just plain, hard work. These will be special memories that you make during this season of staying with your sweet family. Best wishes and prayers for tying up all the loose ends. I'll be in touch.
Blessings and hugs to you,
Tamara <3

ReplyDeleteI moved a year ago and hated all the packing and sorting and decisions to make. I hope I do not have to move ever again. Unless I win the lottery, and then would pay for it all to be done!
ReplyDeleteBe careful. I still have flares with inflamed abdominal muscles that I pulled during our move. Blessings on your my friend. Thoughts and prayers.

ReplyDeleteStacey :)
Hi Kris,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that things are going along well for you. Yes, moving is very stressful but I'm sure you are already thinking about decorating your new Junk Chic Cottage. Also, thanks for stopping by to see me.

Each person should have basic items hanging on their wooden hangers, they never go out of style and are always valid. For example, for women in their Hangers direct to have a nice shirt of white color and a pair of jeans or black trousers is always advisable because they take out us of trouble in any occasion. These items, combined with various types of accessories always look good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I can't wait to see what you create in your next space. It will be charming, creative, and beautiful! But in the meantime, you get to spend time with your family which is a nice blessing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your feature. I will see if I can find the magazine at our local bookstore. :)
I know how stressful moving is, but I know you'll find a way to enjoy rather than worry!
