Here is Cooper on his car ride home. He was a trooper in the car for the 5 hour drive. We stopped a few times and he did his business and right back in the car and slept most of the drive.
He is just the best little guy ever. We are so in love with him. I think he rescued us more than we rescued him.
Thanks for all your sweet comments on our new family member. We can't wait to move him into the new house with us.
My heart grew just a little bit bigger today with this new guy in our lives.
Have a wonderful week end. Hugs, Kris |
Congratulations on the adoption! Cooper looks like a winner!! I know you all will enjoy him so much and he is one very lucky dog!

He is a sweet heart, for sure! I know Cooper will bring you all so much joy.
ReplyDeleteCooper is soooo cute! Glad you were able to find a new love to share your life with. Amazing how some dogs gravitate to a specific person. Our black cocker spaniel "Amigo" was that with my hubby. Our two current dogs appear to be more mine than his...but I say that's more because I am the food girl and the one who plays fetch. However, our Zeke was always very fond of my father who has passed now almost 2 years ago...funny how life keeps speeding on by while our hearts are missing a loved one. My mother came to visit on Easter...Zeke ran out to her car and sniffed around and then came running back in searching the whole house. It seemed as if he was looking for my father. He spent the rest of the day sitting near my mom. I think he would gladly go home with her. Anyhow, I am so glad you have a new fur baby. There are just some people who are not whole without one. I think this is very true for me.
ReplyDeleteI am tearing up over this! I just can't imagine how anyone could ever treat a dog with nothing but love, especially one as sweet as Cooper. This is meant to be and my heart is overflowing with love after seeing this. He is such a lucky boy to have you in his life to love him and you are lucky to have such a wonderful fur baby to bring you joy!

ReplyDeleteHe's adorable… We had one just like him when we were first married, his name was Thor, and like Cooper, very sweet. Congratulations !!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Lovely guy you have there. And I'm thankful that you and Terri decided to adopt an older dog. I Watch those films on Youtube and I feel ashamed of being a human from time to time. How can they do the way they do to animals?
ReplyDeleteI can see Cooper is already a Lovely member of the family and I hope he will enjoy his new home. Take care.
Love Elzie
What a cute guy:-) Glad you found him or he found you:-) Have fun adapting to a new life with Cooper:-) And the name seems to suit him well:-)
ReplyDeleteHe is just divine Kris! It's like having a beautiful new baby! We got a kitten a few days ago but there have been a few complications with her health so I haven't blogged her yet. Fingers crossed things are sorted soon. But it was totally love at first sight. She is perfect for our family and so affectionate. Pets really do bring so much happiness. :) Julie
ReplyDeleteHe looks so happy in that last photo, and all of you look happy with him in the other photos.

Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, love, Susie
ReplyDeleteThank you for adopting! I am a volunteer with a local dog rescue and love when people adopt a rescue dog. They are always so grateful to be safe again. I am getting my 18th foster dog this week and I love fostering. When they find their forever home it makes it all worthwhile. Enjoy your new family member!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gayl for being a rescue mom. That is such an important job and a great start for their transition to a forever home. The foster mom that Cooper had was fabulous with him. Thank you for your kind and sharing heart with these little fur babies in need of love and care. You are my hero.
DeleteHugs,
Kris

He looks like a perfect fit! I wonder if his original name had the "er" sound to it, like some end in "y" or "a", so it sounds for familiar. Whatever he sure looks happy.

ReplyDeleteHe looks like a Cooper....you all look so happy. I have had 9 rescue dogs in our 42 years of marriage and they have all been the best dogs ever. Will be looking forward to seeing him included in your pictures of your new home vintage-remodeling. I so hate when I hear of dogs and cats being mistreated. So glad Cooper found a good home and forever mom and dad.

Hi Kris, what a blessing Cooper is in your lives. You really needed a positive and with him and your new home I'm sure you are starting to feel whole again. What strange journeys we are on, right? I know that you will enjoy and love him with all your beautiful heart. Have a great day. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHe's so Handsome... and it's not so unusual to have a Positive Name Change at an Adoption... I recently Adopted two of our G-Kids we've been raising since birth and the older one, who is Fifteen, opted for a Fresh New First Name... perhaps Cooper wanted that Fresh New Start too and why he was unresponsive to an Old Name that didn't have happy Memories perhaps? Now for sure his Love will be reciprocated and he'll be Cherished as he should be! Congratulations on your Adoption... Dawn... The Bohemian
ReplyDeleteThose eyes...he looks so happy Kris! Congratulations on your adoption of this super special little guy and many years of love to look forward to :)
ReplyDeleteCOngrats on the sweet fur-baby! What a great day Paws up!

Nothing like a new fur baby to brighten everybody's day! I haven't been online too much lately and am happily catching up as quickly as possible. So glad to see you having such fun! Hugs, Leena

ReplyDeleteOh Kris I am so sorry about your doggie.... :( but I am so glad that there will be a brand new rescue doggie to love on and pamper now!!! Have fun getting to know your new baby!! Congrats!! xo
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm so behind.....your little Cooper is just the cutest!! I'm so glad he has such a wonderful forever home now. Poor little guy in a shelter...I can't stand the thought! I did the same with my Lily girl - I adopted her shortly after my little furball Reilly passed away so suddenly. Well, along came Lily (she was called Terri, funny enough, when I adopted her!) And my Lily girl needed a home...and I needed her. She helped my heart heal....and 13 years later she still makes me smile each and every day, as does her little brat of a daughter! Welcome home, Cooper!! xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the name you gave him, Kris. Cooper just seems to fit him so well. What a sweet face this little guy has! Seeing these photos makes my heart so glad. Happy for Cooper and happy for you, Terry and Abby (you're all beaming!). And isn't it neat that Cooper's such a love bug with everyone? It's meant to be, my friend! Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'm sending tons of prayers your way. How people do these things to these innocent babies is beyond my comprehension. I'm not going into to details of what I think should be done to such viral humans.
ReplyDeleteHugs to Cooper, you and Terry
Cooper is so lucky to have found a warm and loving family!!!!....He is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice post works well and easy to configure...thanks for all info.
