As most of you know we adopted little Cooper a week ago.
|
This sweet little bundle of joy. We took him to our Vet to have him checked over. With Cooper being a rescue dog we did not have any history on him except that he was tethered outdoors 24/7 and he was 7 years old. So after our Vet gave him a through exam she found a tumor on his face that she did not like how it looked. So tomorrow this little guy will be having it surgically removed. We are hoping it is not anything bad. The Vet did take some sample fluid out of the tumor and looked at it under a slide. She said she did see come concerning cells so we will see what pathology says once it is removed and sent in. So please remember little Cooper in your thoughts and prayers as you go about your day tomorrow. |
|
The other issue they found with this guy is he had broken all his teeth in the front of his mouth and the back teeth were not looking very good either. So after we see what will happen with the tumor surgery tomorrow we will then tackle his teeth.
Poor guy with them having him on a chain the Vet said he probably was chewing on the chain and that is what broke most of his teeth. He also probably did not have a healthy diet. The Vet felt pretty good she could save his back teeth that he uses to eat. So far he has been eating his wet and dry dog food mixture.
We love this little guy so much and even with all these things going on he does not seem bothered by anything. Just loves to be loved.
Little Cooper might have to get some Doggie Dentures like these!

Thanks for the good thoughts and best wishes for Cooper.
Have a good week.
Kris
Good thoughts, wishes, and prayers for Cooper! ♥
ReplyDeleteSweet guy, he's so lucky to have a forever/family ...hope all goes well, Sandi
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all Kris! x Julie
ReplyDeleteJust came to the blog to see how everyone was doing. Poor little guy...but he sure did get a break with having you as his human parents. Hope all goes well with the pathology and that his dental issues are correctable. Diet is so important for good health, as you very well know as a nurse. Fingers crossed for some good news.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is praying for you dearest Kris. But you know, these animals teach us so much. NO complaints, just love. Just love....
ReplyDeletePlease let me know how you are doing? Any news yet on Terry?
I hope things turn out well with Cooper and everything is treatable. What an awful thought that he was chewing on his chain! He couldn't have been adopted by a more caring family. I'll be thinking of you today.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris
ReplyDeleteI will be saying prayers for your sweet Cooper. Boy is he adorable*

Good thoughts and prayers for Cooper!
ReplyDeleteAww, Kris, this makes my heart heavy. Poor guy's been through the mill, but he's in the best place possible with you guys, so my vote's on a happily ever after! Prayers for Cooper too.
ReplyDeletePraying for you all. How heart breaking. I hope that you get a good report about the biopsy. I've never heard of doggie dentures. Are you pulling my leg?
ReplyDeleteLet us know.
Oh, Kris. Sending lots and lots of thoughts and prayers for Cooper and hugs to you. He is so lucky to be with you now. Hoping for a positive outcome. The doggy dentures put a smile on my face (how could they not?) :)
ReplyDeleteSending love, prayers and good thoughts your way for this precious, sweet dog! I am sure all the love you are giving him will make him feel so much better! Good luck with the surgery, and I hope he has a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteAwe praying for your little pup Kris. He is so sweet and is very lucky to have been adopted by such a loving family. Gosh he really needs you guys now. Good luck to him today and hoping for a positive prognosis. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
Aw, I'm so happy you adopted him he deserves a good family that can care for him. He is one lucky dog :)
ReplyDeleteOh poor baby! I hate hearing this news. But I know he is still so lucky to have y'all for parents now. He will receive the care that he needs. It pains me to hear that he probably hurt is teeth by chewing on a chain. That is so cruel. We once had an outdoor bird dog for hunting but we used the invisible fence system so he was never tethered. He would also come inside when it was real cold. But now I couldn't have an outdoor dog. I want them with us at all times. I hope cooper can be treated successfully for everything.
ReplyDeleteOH gosh, Kris, that poor little fellow. I pray his tumor is an easy fix - he deserves a happy life. Looking forward to many pictures of him flashing his pearly whites. Keep us posted. Jane
ReplyDeletePrayers for Cooper. He is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteKris, I have tears in my eyes imagining this sweet little guy tethered 24/7. How can anyone treat an animal so badly? I am praying Cooper comes through all this and goes on to live a long life with his new mum and pop. Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for all of you!!!! He is so lucky to have found his furever home with such caring parents :o) He is in good hands!
ReplyDelete~Des
Oh, that sweet boy! The vets findings must have been very emotional for you- I'm praying that the news comes back that all is well. I get so upset that people are so cruel to innocent animals that just want love. I'm so glad that Coop is in your loving care, Kris. Kisses from me to that smooshy sweet face!
ReplyDeleteXoxo, T.
I'm so sorry, Kris. After all you've been through already, you now have to worry about this little guy. Hopefully the tumor can be removed and sweet Cooper will be fine.
ReplyDeleteSending you a big hug,
Julia
Good thoughts for Cooper. So sorry to hear that he has the issues, but it sounds like he's in good hands with your vet. Thank goodness he is with a loving and caring family now.
ReplyDeleteOh, praying that everything will be OK with Cooper.....Cooper is definitely in great hands now with a loving family.
ReplyDeleteDear Lord, take care of Cooper and his forever family, xo
ReplyDeleteGod Bless all of you! Prayers for Cooper! ,
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteCooper, sweet Cooper, another obstacle in his difficult 7 years. Many many prayers are being sent up for him. Kris, God knows that you and Terry will do whatever you both can do to always love, provide and care for Cooper in his forever home. I'd say little Cooper's prayers have already been answered but now it's our turn to send prayers up for this sweet guy who is graced to have you both. We all look forward to his recovery from his past and to enjoy his future in your new nest. Somehow I feel you have another photo bomber who has already stolen our hearts in Blogland.
Sending love,
Vera
Sending good thoughts your way for your sweet pooch.
ReplyDeleteKris, hoping for a good outcome from the surgery. Poor little guy!
ReplyDeletePrayers for little Cooper. We just recently adopted a shelter dog who is heartworm positive. She will get her first shot on Monday and another two in May. I hear the shots are very hard on them. I hope Cooper's prognosis is good. He is already surrounded by love and that's the best we can give these pups who have had rough starts in life.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this Debbie. I wish everyone would understand how devastating these worms can be for dogs and the cure is so harsh. I feel for you. Hoping for the best for your rescued dog. Hugs.
DeleteKris
Thank you so much for rescuing Cooper. We've had nothing but blessings from our six rescue dogs over the years. No matter what happens, he will now know what it is like to have love and family in his life. Nothing is more important.
ReplyDeleteAww Kris I feel like crying and hate how cruel some people are to helpless dogs! I will be praying for Cooper!
ReplyDeleteWe're praying for Cooper's health to be restored. He looks like such a sweet dog! I wish all dog owners were as kind and caring as you. We love our dogs so much. They are family! We still get tears sometimes when we think about our dogs who are in "Doggie Heaven". Pets are such a blessing. Take care and keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, best wishes to Cooper and to you with your new home. I just caught up with the happenings in your life and look forward to seeing pictures of your new home (with Cooper). Milena

Oh Kris, I'm so sad to see this. Keeping sweet Cooper and you in my prayers. He's such a lucky dog to have found you and you're such a wonderful person to get him the care he needs. I know he'll being you so much joy in the coming years. Keep us posted. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBoy, haven't you had more than your fair share of bad luck! Bless you for adopting an older dog. I adopted a 7 year old dog years ago, and it was just the best dog. Well, Abi had a cancer scare in her mouth when they cleaned her teeth a few weeks ago. And poor Charlie is down to 2 teeth. They manage. Though I often have to hold Abi so he can get his food down. I was a nervous wreck of course, but it wasn't cancer. I hope the same for sweet Cooper.
ReplyDeleteBrenda

ReplyDeletehave a good life now, after all that suffering. Can not understand how cruel people can be.
Give him lots of hugs and cuddles he is such a cutie.
Rosezeeta x
Please know that I'll be keeping Cooper and all of you in my prayers. The poor little guy. No part of me can understand how and why someone would treat an animal this way. He's lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Oh my gosh that poor little sweetie! I am so glad he has people like you to love and care for him!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Cooper is so special. To have gone through so much and still just want to be loved. What a sweetheart. I'm praying that he'll be OK, and so thankful that you found him.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy. He had a rough life already and is so blessed to have you now to take loving care of him. I have said prayers for him.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Kris, so sorry to hear this. Poor little guy has been through enough and so have the two of you. You're all in my thoughts. 🙏🏻

ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well for your sweet Cooper. What a beautiful thing you did by giving him a loving new home. He was so meant to be yours!! XOXO
ReplyDelete~ Wendy
Poor little guy! Bless you for giving him a home and for taking such care of him ~
ReplyDeleteI believe people who do those sorts of things to animals should have the same things done to them; not a very "nice" way of thinking, but it just makes my blood boil!
Sending good thoughts to Cooper and to all in his new family for the best results `~
Please keep us posted.
Oh my God seems to be testing you, but you both are coming through with flying colors...I am so sorry to hear this about Cooper. Want a sweetheart and hope he comes through surgery well and his health will improve...Having Ginger our rescue dog we shower our love on her and have no doubt you and Terry do too for however long we are lucky to be their fur parents.
ReplyDeleteDang it, Kris. He is such a sweet guy and is just the right thing to round out your family. Hope the surgery goes well and that he will be healthy and healed. Kai has a hard time eating too as he has lost a lot of his teeth and where he needs them the most to chew, there are only big empty spaces on both sides of his mouth. He does pretty well, but we can't give him anything too hard or large. Praying for little Cooper and it is so good that he has the loving home that he deserves now..xxo Judy
ReplyDeleteI'll keep Cooper in my thoughts (even the cats are joining me wishing him well).
ReplyDeletePrayers for precious Cooper...poor little guy.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice post works well and easy to configure...thanks for all info.
