Good Friday everyone. The work on the new nest is coming along. Our hard work is paying off. This house is beginning to feel like a home.
Here is the dining room before's and after's.
|
BEFORE |
|
AFTER
This room is flooded all day by natural light. Hard to get a great picture at least for me not being a professional with the camera but trust me this room is full of sunshine. It really makes my chippy's and whites shine. |
|
My China Cabinet fit perfectly on this wall. |
|
I got this cute chicken feeder at a market show I went to recently with a friend. I think it works for my table center piece. |
|
Terry had to cut down my large square table to have it fit in this smaller dining room space. I was happy he could keep the drawer fronts he originally put on the sides and ends of this table. They give character to this table. |
|
Dining room and Living room are done. I will show you more of the living room soon. |
|
The kitchen is coming along. Still a work in progress. I cannot wait to show you how I have some of family heirlooms in place in this kitchen. It is starting to look like a vintage french kitchen.
Hope to have more to share soon. Lots of work but so worth it. I am in love with my new nest.
Like Dorothy said "There's no place like Home".
Have a great week end. Hugs, Kris |

Kris, dear friend, your dining room is simply elegant! Your white decor is truly stunning, you have such such remarkable taste. I want white decor now! You are quite the master decorator and I can't wait to see what else you will reveal!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your heavenly home!
Nancy
Love what you have done with your dining area. Can't wait to see the rest of the kitchen...the tiny glimpse is wonderful. I recently scored a chicken feeder also, for a mere $20. They typically, go for at least twice that much ++ in my neck of the woods. Mine is pretty rusty, has the divider thingy still intact, so I think I may use as some form of a plate rack. I have yet to be inspired so it remains on my side yard gaining more patina. LOL. So glad the new nest is beginning to feel like home. You deserve this happiness and so much more.
ReplyDeleteOMG,it's soooooo beautiful!!!! Everything is so light and airy.....I love the paint color!!!!! I have one of those chicken feeders too. I never thought about putting vases of flowers in it. You are so clever!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.....

Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady
Kris, Your "magic wand" has not lost it's power all these months of waiting, to be put to use once again! Every inch is magical, to say the least!
ReplyDeleteI also noticed you have painted the kitchen cupboards, and I'm curious as to what prep, and paint did you use; chalk or a specific cabinet paint?
Hi Mary,
DeleteWe used Valspar Cabinet paint. So worth the $49 a gallon. You do not have to do any prep. Just paint it on and it takes about 2 to 3 coats depending on what you are covering but it was so easy to do. Lowe's sells this cabinet paint and you can tint it any color. So if you do not want the hassle of priming, sanding etc. I would use this. You do not even have to clean down the cabinets unless they are heavily greasy etc. Hope that helps.
Kris
Hi Kris! Oh my goodness - what a wonderful change you have made in this room! Talk about coming into the light, lol. All of your things are looking perfect in your new home sweet home! And...love & more love for the chicken feeder. Happy weekend to you & Terry. Jane

ReplyDeleteThanks for your email, I wandered over in Blogland, will be back posting soon - after the hiccups of destiny are normal again. Well mon Amie you and your "man with the tools" the amazing Terry and Mrs. Kris with your Magical décor inspiration in White have me blinking to make sure this is not your Junk Chic cottage 1.0. WOW, Kudos, Bravo, Holy Moly your intrinsic nature and love of White has brought the essence alive once again. I have toyed with the idea with my Grandparents chicken farm legacy of buying a vintage galvanized feeder for the mantel in Fall with pumpkins galore. OK It's the designer in me sharing an idea.... looking forward to Junk Chic cottage part deux in full 2.0!!!! Sending love and hugs over to you, your man and Cooper as you recreate Junk Chic cottage 2.0.
