Hello Everyone. Happy Friday.
Terry made me this coffee table awhile back and I have loved it but I felt it needed a little change.
|
It is a pretty little coffee table but the light pine top just was not mixing nicely with my darker floors. |
|
I decided I was going to white wash the top. That was my first step. Easy peasy just dry brushed the top with slightly watered down white paint. |
|
I then took some antique glaze and applied it to the top of the table with a rag. Wiping off the glaze with another dry rag. |
|
The antiquing stain gave a more gray tone to the pine w00d underneath. |
|
I added this vintage door knob to the backside of this table to give her some character. Easy peasy change up to give a new look to this table. It is just fun to take some paint and experiment to see what different looks you can achieve to a piece you already have.
Have a great Friday and wonderful week end. Going to see the release of the new movie Trolls with my granddaughter Abby today. Should be fun. Kris |

Great job! I love the change♡. I've also done the remake of my coffee table. Greetings from Italy
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Kris. The antiquing stain really brings out the grain of the wood. I will have to keep that product in mind for some future projects. Love the door knob addition too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat looks fabulous! I love the stain colour! Have a happy weekend Kris!
ReplyDeleteLittle change, huge difference! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Kris! Enjoy the movie and Abby's company!

That looks so good! I love that bleached out look. Have fun at the movies!
ReplyDeleteI love the power of paint!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I am looking for places where I can add a doorknob for interest - what a cute idea.
Your home always looks so peaceful and tranquil, Kris!
ReplyDeleteKris, That was a quick change. I like that you keep all the old doorknobs and use them. :):) I think Abby is going to love that movie. Hope all of you are enjoying our fabulous weather. Wishing you a great weekend, blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThe table looks much better now....and I even liked it before!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to the Cubbies Parade today???? I wish I were in Chicago today!
That works great, melding different wood tones can always be a challenge. Here, none match, but we will be painting the kitchen table white/cream and leaving the dark wood top---maybe, lol. Grins, and lovely setting you have now. Sandi
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty Kris. I like the whitewashing effect and the antique knob that you added. The Valspar distressing looks so nice. It's always helpful to see what you used. Thank you for the tip. Have fun with your grand daughter! That looks like a super cute movie.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tamara

I love the way a little paint can totally change a piece. This looks fantastic. I hope you had fun at Trolls!! I found one in my Cheerios this week. Haha!!
ReplyDeleteA little paint and a creative hand make a BIG difference. I haven't visited in awhile, so came by to check in with you. You have been busy and the house is so beautiful. My visits with you get me recharged... and honey I need all the help I can get in that area! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pendra
I like it, Kris. I think it looks better painted and glazed, too, than it did natural. Sometimes I like the natural wood tops and sometimes I think it looks better painted. Hope you are having a great Friday! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your creativity at work, Kris...very pretty! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteIf only I could get 1/2 as much accomplished as you...I wouldn't have an unfinished backyard relandscaping, a garage full of projects and a hall way half painted. Tomorrow I vow to channel "YOU" and finish atleast one thing (before moving on the next). As usual, you're such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYour little table looks wonderful white washed, Kris and I love the addition of the doorknob!
ReplyDeleteMuch, much better. I loved the table before, but now it really has an authentic aged look. YOU are brilliant my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the makeover...the door knob is just the perfect finishing touch! Enjoy your weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe whitewashed finish softens the look of your coffee table and it blends nicely with your all-white style, Chris. Always tweaking something!
ReplyDeleteOur granddaughter was showing me all the troll things she'd like for her upcoming birthday. Enjoy the movie!
It looks great and I love the addition of the door knob! Enjoy the movie. I hear it's a good one!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic transformation! I love the distressed knob too, it really sets the table off. Take care my lovely xx
