Happy Friday.
Got a wonderful new office chair for Christmas. Loved the french vibe of the chair and the blue and white stripes. The color of the wood however did not appeal to me.
So guess what??? I had some White Paint!!!!
The brown tone of the wood was not going well with my white chippy office armoire. So out came a paint brush and some white paint. |
These cloudy sunless days make it so hard to get a good picture. It is hard to capture the chairs pretty when you do not have decent light. |
After I painted it white I sanded the edges to make the chair chippy. The fabric on the chair is a lighter blue and white stripe. |
Now I have a chippy french vibe chair that is very comfy for my time on the computer. Have a great Friday. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Kris |
What a difference....I love the new white paint color!!! I have never seen such a pretty office chair before.

Love that chair and love the blue and white stripes. Looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that chair and how lucky that it rolls!
ReplyDeleteI already loved the before of that chair, but you really worked your magic on the after! Great striped fabric and it looks like it goes perfectly with your armoire. Have a great weekend, Kris!
ReplyDeleteI like it, Kris, and it is a perfect addition to your computer armoire. I am not crazy about that 'whitewashed wood' look that the chair had before either. I had a house with those cabinets in it once and never cared for them...just not my style.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week- xo Diana
So pretty! Does Terry back away from you when you get your can of white paint and brushes out? LOL

Adorable. I love the ticking.
ReplyDeleteSun light or not, Kris, your creations are always pretty. Love that little chair and the white looks much better in your room..Happy Weekend..Judy
ReplyDeletePerfection!
ReplyDeleteIt's been so dark and gloomy here too. I haven't done photos in forever because of no good light. Luckily I blog about a month in advance but am running out of posts, so I sure hope we see some sunshine soon. I just knew you'd have a some white paint hanging around to fix that chair :)
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteWhite? Really who would of thought! Love that it swivels, love that you distressed it, love how you paint transformed it and it sure looks comfy to sit on. Also love the soft blue ticking stripe and how it opens the opportunity to add in an accent or two in blue into your delightful design crazy (your words) we all love.
xoxo
Kris, I love your new desk chair. It's more your style now. Blessings for a fun weekend, stay warm. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt is for sure more your style! I like it. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Carla
Looks great Kris and goes much better with your decor. You always do a great job on your projects.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend - we are going to have 70's for the weekend and then its going to get cold again for us.
Hugs,
Mary
I always chuckle when I read "so guess what" (or something similar) on your blog. No need to guess there is always a pot of white paint ready and able to assist you in your décor madness. Love the chairs transformation.
ReplyDeletePaint...the great transformer! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe white paint made your new chair perfect! Love the fabric as well. I agree about the weather - sure have enjoyed the warm weather, but the gray days not so much. Today it was both cold AND gray! Jane
ReplyDeleteKris, I love the stripe! I loved it as it was, but of course it turned out gorgeous when you were finished with it! Perfect amount of sanding too.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
You have just confirmed an idea I've been toying with the last week. Last year I painted the upholstery on a gorgeous French side chair WHITE, leaving the wood as is. But I've been wanting to WHITEN up the wood and now that I see what you've done, IT'S OFFICIAL! Oh Kris, what a great improvement!
ReplyDeleteNice chair!
ReplyDeleteHaha, for some reason this made me laugh...of course you had white paint! I would have thought I can't paint it, I just st got it, guess I'll have to live with it . You're my hero! You just go for it and make it all yours! :) Beautiful chair! I like the chippy. You know when you finally get a sunny day Kris, you're going to have to take pictures of all you've been showing us. :-D

ReplyDeleteChippy White Cottage Blessings,

White and chippineness such a beautiful look for you.
ReplyDeleteLove the chair, and the stripped ticking effect is perfect addition to your whiteness.
Love love, that you added a bit of chippineness Kris, yet the before finish did not scare me off, I think you could have distressed it and it would have also working in well with your white. Not to fear a paler shade of white that may come along next time, it just might add a little mystery to your love of white, our love of white.

What's next on your list?
