Hope you are all having a great weekend. The sun is shining and it is low 70's for temps here in the burbs outside of Chicago. A nice breeze is blowing in the windows.
Sweet Peggy is getting in a great nap under the window with a breeze blowing over her. |
I am not going to say this is the final reveal of the bathroom because it is still a work in progress but it is finished for the most part.
This is the picture of the bathroom when we bought the house. |
We gutted most of this bathroom and then used the Epoxy Paint on the cast iron tub and tiles. It made a big difference. |
These dark dated bathroom tiles were transformed with the Epoxy Paint. |
Yep so much better! |
Then this sweet cabinet we purchased when we went to Michigan got some legs and a paint treatment. |
I had my handyman Terry cut this old chippy post in half and then added some vintage hangers to make his and hers towel holders for this bathroom. |
This bathroom went from this. |
To this pretty bathroom. This bathroom will still have things added. I want to find either new sconce covers for this light fixture or a whole new light fixture to bring in a little more vintage vibe. Not sure the current mirror will stay. I hope I can find a pretty old chippy framed mirror with some character. So one room done to show you. I will have more rooms to show with new decor etc. in the coming days. Before I close and wish all of you a great weekend. I want to give a shout out and share a new blog with you. You all know Diana from Nana Diana Takes A Break Blog. Diana has ventured out and started a new blog called A Cottage On The Cove and this sweet blog will have Diana's Etsy shop . So if you would like more of her humor, savvy style, sassy personality and oh so talented treasures, please head on over and check it out. Plus she is doing a giveaway. We all love a great give away! Have a wonderful Weekend. Hugs, Kris |
Kris, this is just gorgeous! I love all the bright white in the bathroom. You two are so fast!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic, my friend! I want to know more about that epoxy paint. And that isn't your only bath is it? If I used this paint it would be on my only bathroom. So I want to know how long it takes to dry.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Your bathroom looks wonderful and it has your style written all over it! I use that same paint technique with white and gray and it does make a lovely finish. Great vanity. Love it all.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Sissie
What a transformation Kris. It is beautiful. So bright and airy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful transformation!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a gorgeous transformation, Kris!! I need to catch up and see what I have missed the last few weeks. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love a pretty white bathroom!
ReplyDeleteLove this cute cottage bathroom. Wow, the white really brightened it up. Great job on the cabinet. You may want to check out rejuvination.com for old looking light fixtures. They have a sale going on. I'm even looking at one for my powder room.
ReplyDeleteLove how the bathroom turned out. It looks amazing. What a fabulous transformation.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty and I love it and what you did with the sink. Did you paint on the epoxy paint yourselves on the tub and tiles? We are going to work on our bathroom and it needs the tiles and tub painted. We are not sure if we want to do it or hire someone?
ReplyDeleteOh! Thank you so much, Kris. You are a sweet heart!
ReplyDeleteThat does not even look like the same bathroom! I did love the brass sink but if it didn't look right in the room I don't blame you for changing it up. That floor really looks good in there, too. That Terry is something else--between your ideas and his 'do it' attitude you guys move mountains (or lay floors, or cut down cabinets, or whatever).
Hope to see you sometime yet this fall!!!! xo Diana
Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteKris, I love what you both have done with this bathroom! It makes the glass blocks even more fabulous than they already were. I'm like Brenda above, got to find out more about this epoxy white paint. And I am so interested in the vinyl plank flooring because we're wanting to put down new flooring in the kitchen and a second bathroom we hope to build next year and the flooring was the only thing we didn't know what we wanted. Seeing the pic of yours in the bathroom sells me on this and I can't wait to see it in your basement.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to see Diana's new blog but you know I can't leave without wanting to just scoop Peggy up and love on her. She's just a snuggle full of sweetness!
Love to you,
Dewena
Stunning! Nice job Kris and Terry!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful bath...I am going to try my hand at making my white vintage wicker table into more of a weathered light gray...i've never done a wash but I am thinking a coat of medium gray with a lighter gray and white might do the trick...we'll see.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful....the new floor is just perfect! I love the baluster towel hooks...so creative. I was just looking at the one in my craft room today wondering what I could do it with it so I might have to borrow your idea. Loved seeing the pic of sweet Peggy napping :o)
ReplyDelete~Des
Adorable! You two work magic. I LOVE the towel hooks!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful transformation!!! Love the curved shower rod!!! Little by little you will find the pieces you love.....its the hunt that is so much fun......
ReplyDeleteKris I am impressed how quickly your cottage transformation is progressing at warp speed! There is really no one way to do faux painting and your sink cabinet looks pretty. Sweet Peggy, the princess of the cottage! My heart smiled when I saw her napping. Love Terry's towel hooks he created, very clever.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Beautiful Kris, so light and bright. I loved the brass, but you're so right, it really needs to be white!
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation! Very well done, you two! Your bathroom is so beautiful now, Kris! The vinyl floor looks wonderful in combination with the white interior. It was a great idea to turn a post into towel holders.
ReplyDeletePeggy is so sweet. She must be one happy girl to be finally a family member instead of a puppy machine for a breeder.
xo Julia
I Think the bathroom looks Lovely and I would love to have it here, instead of my greeny one, blrr!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice sunday.
Love Elzie
Loving it all Kris... especially those towel hooks.
ReplyDeleteI painted the bathroom tiles in our last house and was so happy with the final result. I fully expected they'd chip, but they never did. You and Terry are such a great renovation duo.
Hugs xx
Your bathroom turned out so pretty. As I was looking at your piece that you used for your sink, I realized I have a piece just like it, although not in the same wood, and with a bit of different decorative carving. It is handmade, as I'm sure yours is also.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lovely new look. The epoxy paint looks amazing. Is it highly smelly when applying it?
Happy Autumn ~ FlowerLady
Your transformations are always so amazing, Kris. Your bathroom is gorgeous and your paint treatment on the cabinet looks great. I'm amazed at how well the epoxy paint works. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteWOW. Kris and Terry, your guys did it again. So much work has gone into this, and the results are impressive. I actually like the light fixtures, and I'm not a MODERN style person, but there is a gentle simplicity that the lights add. The white, what can I say, it's PERFECTION!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great transformation, Kris. I love learning about things like the epoxy paint and the vinyl flooring. Who woulda thunk?!
ReplyDeleteWow Kris,
ReplyDeleteit looks stunning and so beautiful!
Hugs,
Karen B.
Excellent job! The cabinet turned out really well. Those his and her towels holders are a really cute idea. The flooring really was a great choice. I like the faucet and light fixture- they provide a light design that doesn't compete with everything else. You guys have worked hard on so many things to get this the way you want it- you must feel relieved to see these things coming together.
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is beautiful. I really like how you painted the vanity. And I love the towel holders, such a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing transformation! I love the hooks! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteKris, reading this post just gave me a huge light bulb moment and I'm going to drop you a line to pick your brain if I could. What a difference between the before and after of this bathroom. Love the new floor and the vanity looks fabulous painted white! Love your idea for his & her towel hooks too!
ReplyDeleteKris, huge improvement! It's great to see all your chippy white goodness in this new home. The floor does look really great. You and Terry go amazing work! Sweet Peggy, enjoying her nap... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI really do love your pretty bathroom. It is so dreamy! The cabinet/vanity fits perfectly in there. I had no idea you could use epoxy paint to transform an outdated bathroom. You are the bomb (dot) com!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous, Kris. I love all the light. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteKris, the bath looks so pretty. A very light and charming space. You are getting things done and I am so happy for you. Always waiting to see what is next..Happy Sunday..xxoJudy

ReplyDeleteWhat a huge difference Kris! It's just beautiful. So much better. :) Love getting to follow along as you transform the house. It's so much fun to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cecilia
That bathroom is so YOU! Light and airy and just wonderful. I didn't think all white could be so sothing, but it truly is. I would want to sit in there and read my book forever! sigh.......... (I started reading books in the bathroom when my kids were little.. it's the only place I could have some peace and quiet!)... I still do it to this day. Love the sheer curtains and the window over the tub. Enjoy your Sunday... Marilyn
ReplyDeleteKris, I see that Peggy is so at ease there. How wonderful that she can have a nice new bed. I love the bathroom make-over. That flooring looks great. I like the how the vanity workout. Hooray for your handy man Terry, putting the little legs on it and making those unique towel hangers. Blessings for the new week. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteKris!!!! You absolutely amaze me with your genius!!!! It looks wonderful my dear!!!! I have missed seeing the magic you create in your home!!!
ReplyDeletesending love....
Hi Kris
ReplyDeleteWow, your bathroom looks so amazing. Its gorgeous all white and I love what you did with the new piece you purchased. Love the new white sink and shower. Love the new towel holders. Love it all. Oh the floor is beautiful. You do such a great job at redoing things. Aaahhh sweet Peggy is so happy. Love seeing her
enjoy this wonderful weather we are all having
deezie
I am always amazing at how you two transform a space...beautiful! I've liked reading about your flooring decisions, too! Sweet Peggy looks right at home!
ReplyDeleteYou put the vinyl flooring directly over the tile? I would love to do that if that is the case.
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
DeleteYep you go right over the tile with this stuff. Easy Peasy.
Kris
I love the bathroom, it looks beautiful and I love everything that you did. I also love the picture of Peggy taking her nap on the chair. I bet she is loving her new forever home.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so slow is commenting on your post, but I fell down the steps on the front porch. Hit a bit of water and my feet went out from under me and I landed on my bottom and couldn't get up. I finally got the attention of my neighbor and he came over and picked me up. I didn't break anything, thank God, but I am sure sore.
Looking forward to seeing each room that you put your magic on.
Hugs,
Mary
I've been thinking of you, Kris, settling into your new wonderful cottage and had to pop over for a peek!! What an improvement on the bathroom, and little Peggy seems to be settling in also!
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom looks really beautiful...and I love the flooring which does add character. Love how the sink turned out the the white sink fits in better.. i'm going to look up the epoxy since both our cast iron tubs need an uplift. We will be starting the construction upstairs again this Wednesay..and hope we can finally finish and move forward. Its costing a bit but at least it will be done.
ReplyDeleteKris, your bathroom is gorgeous! I just love it. Would you mind sharing the bathroom gray wall color? So glad Peggy has a wonderful forever home!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
DeleteIt is called Silver Screen by Behr. I would suggest to go to Home Depot and get all the whites paint swatches with a touch of gray added to them and put them up on the wall. I did that to see which samples I liked in the light at all times during the day and evening.
Hope this helps.
Kris
Thank you so much Kris! Your bathroom looks so fresh and beautiful. Thank you for sharing so much inspiration and expertise with us!
DeleteWOW!! You did a fabulous job. Love the silver faucet.
ReplyDeletexx oo to Peggy!
Lovely!

ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely Kris! Love the floor too! You guys are fast and super efficient :).
ReplyDeletexxx
Oh, my GOSH, Kris - what a transformation!!!! Your new bathroom rocks it, girlfriend! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI like your mirror though - it lets the eye rest a bit so one's eyes can take in the other stuff.
Sure nice to be back in blogdom again, missed it, missed you! Hugs! ♥
Your bathroom looks so soft and pretty, Kris. You've worked your magic again!
ReplyDeleteOhh...it looks stunning, excellent!

Holy cow! Your bathroom turned out GREAT! I've been eyeing that flooring and now that I've seen it in your bathroom I might have to pick up some samples of it!
ReplyDeleteIt’s looking so bright and beautiful! Just lovely.
