Hi Everyone.
Happy Friday and Happy Weekend.
|
Miss Peggy is recuperating nicely after her surgery yesterday. No more puppies for this girl! She is officially retired from being bred in a kennel.
Poor girl will undergo another long surgery and have 10 teeth removed in a few weeks. This is why she is so thin. Peggy has very bad teeth and has not really been eating too well. I am so mad when I think of this "award winning" breeder with a stellar reputation let this sweet girls teeth get so bad. We will take care of her and get her bad teeth pulled and hopefully get her gaining some weight. Makes me so sad to think that she has had this bad dental issue going on for a long time and the breeder did nothing to help her. I am so glad we rescued this sweet girl and can give her the care she needs. |
Now on to our Master Bedroom. Now don't blink or you will miss the tour of the Master Bedroom! Remember this cottage was built in 1949 so there was no such thing as a Master Bedroom. Just bedrooms. Enough space to put a bed, dresser and maybe a night stand.
|
My bedroom is very small but I was excited to see our King Sleep Number Bed would fit along with the two night stands on the main wall. I love that sleep number bed and was so worried it would not fit in this space. |
|
Lots of natural light comes in this room all day. Love the soft romantic feel to the bedroom. My headboard made from old cottage doors fit nicely too. |
|
I have my candle chandelier over the bed for a romantic feel. Which after looking at the picture I realize I need to put the candles in the holders LOL! |
|
It is quite cozy in this bedroom. Only about 3 feet left from the end of the bed to the wall! It is all good with us. The king sleep bed fit and that is what is important. We can still move around the bed so it is all good. |
|
I have this faded gray, blue and silver floral throw at the end of the bed for a touch of color in this serene setting. |
|
I have my love birds. |
|
My angel on an old chippy window. |
|
So that concludes the tour of our bedroom in the new place. I told you not to blink! We are living large now in a tiny house!
Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend. Hope to have more pics to show you soon. Just waiting on some slipcovers for chairs in the kitchen and I need to find a few things for the living room. I am happy with how the living room and kitchen are coming together.
Hugs, Kris |
Hi Kris.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful bed and that fabulous headboard!!! I'm so glad that it all fit in there perfectly. Also, thank you for rescuing sweet Peggy. I'm so happy that she now has a loving home and that you are taking care of her. She looks like a little Angel. Shame on that breeder. Most of the time it's all about money, and that's sad. Glad she is with you now.
hugs,
Sissie
I am so happy that Miss Peggy has found a forever home with you. It breaks my heart that the breeder did not take better care of her. I love your sweet bedroom. It looks so cozy. xo Laura
ReplyDeletethanks to Laura I have been enjoying exploring here.
DeleteLittle dog was waiting for you to rescue her.
Hope she is enjoying her food now!
I couldn't help laughing a bit. WE have a small bedroom, but I Think yours is smaller, haha. No matter what,I like our bedroom and it's a great thing that I don't have to Clean a large bedroom that I don't really need.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks so nice. Would love to sleep in that room too.
Thank Godness that you took poor Peggy from that person!! If you have kennel it means that you shall take care of the poor dogs that stays there. Not leave them in such a state.
Hope you'll have a nice weekend.
Love Elzie
It's beautiful, Kris. I think that throw is all the color you need!
ReplyDeletePoor little Peggy. I hope her surgery goes well. Fingers crossed, let us know.
Oh, poor Peggy. I hope she feels better soon and certainly she'll feel even better after her dental surgery. My grand dog had 23 teeth pulled a few years ago. She always had bad breath and different vets didn't do anything about it, but clean her teeth. Then they took her to a new dentist and he pulled 23 bad teeth. No more bad breath! Your room looks so good. I love the old doors headboard.
ReplyDeleteA lovely serene bedroom.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Miss Peggy has found a loving home with you. She will soon be feeling as good as new.
Have a wonderful weekend ~ FlowerLady
Your bedroom is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness Miss Peggy is getting the treatment and love she needs.
Kris, This may not be as big a room as you have had before...but you have truly made the most of it. To have that wonderful bed is very important . Love that you had night stands. You have done a beautiful job in decorating. I knew you would :):) Blessings to you for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletep.s. Peggy is a lucky girl now.:)
What a cozy and sweet place to rejuvenate from a long day. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for Peggy and her dental issues. She will be feeling better soon. Your bedroom is soft and romantic looking. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that Peggy has been officially retired! I'm sure she'll be relieved to get rid of this bad teeth as well! Seems that a lot of these "breeders" only care about one thing - money! She's so lucky that you adopted her and she'll thrive in your loving home! Your bedroom is so sweet! I'm sure you're having fun unpacking and decorating with all of your beautiful items! Have a great weekend! 💖

ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so pretty! There's plenty of room in there for the bed. I love your bedding, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Peggy has found wonderful parents. I hope you gave that breeder a piece of your mind and a large helping of whoop-ass! (Did I say that out loud?) Give that sweet baby a hug from me!!!
Enjoy your weekend, my Sweet Friend!
xo,
RJ
You have exactly the space you need, no more, no less. Similar to the size we had at our cabin and it was just fine.
ReplyDeleteMiss Peggy must be SO glad you found each other. I want to punch that breeder in the face! 😡
xxx
It looks so lovely! I finally turfed my king bed last week and got a queen - it seems so SMALL! LOL but I have so much more room to move around now that I am very happy. Have a wonderful weekend Kris!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, serene spot to lay your head at night, Kris!! Gorgeous, but what else would I expect from you? :). Sweet Peggy looks so comfy in her cozy bed, poor sweet angel. Just think how amazing she’ll feel after she gets those sore teeth out and can eat again!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kris
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is absolutely beautiful. I love it. Love the pretty blanket at the end of your bed
Ahhh poor sweet Peggy, she will heal quickly in such a safe, loving home. Poor thing with her teeth. Have the best day Kris
deezie
Kris, you are too funny. I think our bedroom in our new little house is the same size as yours. It's cozy that's for sure. can I ask a question about the breeder Peggy came from? Has anyone ever reported the breeder for cruelty? I live in Pennsylvania and there are always breeders in Lancaster County being prosecuted.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is beautiful, cozy, and comfy, Kris. It's wonderful that your king bed with the lovely head board fit in there. The floral throw is very pretty.
ReplyDeletePeggy obviously had an even harder life than expected. Poor girl! I'm so glad you adopted her and not only give her love but also medical attention. Shame on the breeder for neglecting her dogs in such a way. That is awful!
Have a wonderful weekend and please give Peggy some cuddles from me!
xo Julia
So serene! Love!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend!
Thank heavens the Sleep Number fit. We love ours. Thanks for sharing your serene and gorgeous space. I'm sorry to hear about Penny. That is terrible.
ReplyDeleteSo glad sweet Miss Peggy has y'all to take such good care of her. That is awful about her teeth. Praying all goes well with the surgery.
ReplyDeleteLove your Master bedroom. It is so cozy!
Love the room!! Ours is very small also. We have lived here for over 35 years and its still small! Lol We asre contemplating moving our bedroom upstairs to a large room, gutting the downstairs room and making a bigger studio for all my stuff. We will see if that ever happens. 😀 Who in their right mind wants to climb stairs as they get older??!! Ha!! Can't wait to see the rest of your home!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Your bedroom is so pretty and peaceful. Yup, gotta fit the Sleep Number Bed! We are on our second one and probably won't ever have anything else. Hope Peggy gets to feeling and eating better after she has her dental problems corrected. Happy Weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeletePlease give Miss Peggy a cuddle and an ear-scratching from me ~ she is so lucky to have found you guys!!
ReplyDeleteHaving moved a bunch of times, I know how good it is to sleep in your own bed ~ enjoy!
Poor Peggy, I'm so glad she is doing well now. Your bedroom is a little jewel box....I love the throw at the foot of the bed!!!! Have a great weekend!!!
ReplyDelete~Des
Kris it is so pretty and I'm so happy you gave that sweet girl a new home and will take care of her.
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour room is so romantic! You didn't focus on the wall behind the bed which caught my eye. My house was built in 1976 and the bedrooms are small- ours is barely 12' x 12' so I know what you are dealing with. You do beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI'm so angry about Peggy. That breeder just fell down the rungs on the ladder to the bottom! I'm happy for Penny that she has you- you've rescued her in so many ways.
I love every inch of your bedroom! The colors give it such a peaceful feeling. I think your headboard is perfect. And the angel is my favorite decoration. You get an A+++!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kris! Your bedding is so beautiful and love the soft faded throw. I have a queen in my bedroom with only about 2 feet at the bottom! lol But it all works. Love it. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeletexoxo Jo
Well yes! Living large. The headboard is wonderful in this space and gives so much character. I love the feel of this small room. And the floral cover is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSweet Peggy! Give her some kisses from me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy your bed fit into the new room...that's all that matters!
Glad you guys are settling in to the new nest....have a great weekend! xoxo, T.
I just love Peggy. I am so happy she is with your family.
ReplyDeletexx oo
The bedroom looks wonderful. My favorite is the header, it all makes it look cozy. Perfect to me.
Carla
It's a beautiful room, Kris! We chose to move to a smaller bedroom, because we like the cozy feeling...yours is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHoping Peggy is feeling better soon. She'll do much better when the teeth are out! And they can still eat their food just fine.
So beautiful.. from where you bought that throw blanket?.. that's so beautiful...
ReplyDeleteHi Krishna. I got it at Home Goods it is a Tahari brand. It is actually a duvet cover that I use like a throw. Hope that helps.
DeleteHappy Friday and have a fabulous weekend.
Hugs,
Kris
Looks beautiful Kris! That's awesome you were able to fit not only the bed but two night tables and your amazing door headboard. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou're adjusting well to small home living. Makes me mad too that the owner did not take care of Peggy. How do people live with themselves? Remember Charlie only has two teeth and he's a fat little boy!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Kris, gorgeous!! Little house so very small, just big enough for love, that's all!! I have this little saying painted around a hole in the library's baseboard. I thought it looked like a mouse house, so painted a little mouse by it and the saying. The smaller the rooms, the less the cleaning. That is a good thing..Happy Weekend..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteP.S. Little Peggy will feel so much better now. This from Kai who is speaking from experience. xxoJ
ReplyDeleteWe bought a king size bed when we moved and it was one of the best decisions ever! Bigger rooms are great, but a bigger bed is more important, it's a beautiful space. Peggy is a blessing to you guys just as you are to her. Happy weekend, Kris!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking really good, Kris. I am SO GLAD your king bed fit. I would not like to downsize to a queen again after sleeping on a King for a long time. The room looks beautiful and romantic...just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about Peggy's teeth. That just makes me want to wish the original owner would find cavities in all his teeth when he wakes up in the morning. If I were a REAL witch, I would ply my trade and make it happen. I think it is terrible when breeders don't treat their animals like pets--they just breed them until they are no longer useful. Just sad. She's a lucky girl cuz you found her!
Hope you have a great weekend. xo Diana
Hi Kris, what a cute picture of Peggy. Glad she's in a good home now. Love the chippy window with the angel. Milena
ReplyDeleteYour new bedroom is so pretty and restful looking. Love the floral throw, too. Peggy looks like she's loving her comfy looking bed. So sorry about her dental issues. I'm with you, I would be beyond mad at the breeder who obviously didn't take proper care of her. So glad you are giving her a new and happy lease on life!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ! COZY sweet !!
ReplyDeleteOh And LOVE your sweet little dog!GOD BLESS her and thank goodness you saved her! It's So SICKINING the way animals are abused !! I can't stand it! It is sooooo upsetting ! Bless her little heart !!!
ReplyDeleteDarling, darling friend, HELLO!!!!!!!!!! I'm in my happy place now, here in Blogland. I am so excited to see your magic touch in this space, that is now HOME....is this Peggy's Cottage? Well, it looks like it! She's settled in as much as anyone can be!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous whites. Have FUN!
Glad to hear you are taking good care of Peggy. Love the chippy angel window!
ReplyDeleteLiving large in small spaces is the way to go. The more space we have, the more we collect. You have everything you need and you made it lovely and charming.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, you master bedroom look so pretty. The white makes everything looks so clean. You also have such pretty angels around your house.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about the dental work that needs to be done on your dog. Dogs are great but are a lot of work, but worth it.
Have a nice weekend.
Julie
Your bedroom is so cozy and bright.
ReplyDeletePoor Penny! She's adorable
Hugs Alessandra
So glad Peggy is doing well. Sending prayers and good healing vibes for her dental surgery too. Your bedroom is beautiful, as always!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear Peggy is doing well and so happy that she's with someone that will give her the love she deserves.
ReplyDeleteThe house is coming right along now! The bedroom and bathroom look really serene and pretty.
So glad the 1949 house found someone to love it too :)
xo,
rue
Kris,
ReplyDeleteMy heart sank when I read about Peggy and her 10 teeth... but it makes sense since the breeder only cared about making puppies and money ... no thought of pre-natal care for the dog, of course never a a thought about the fact of producing so many puppies depletes all the calcium out of those teeth which are bones. Thank God she is now living with you and Terry experiencing love in her forever home that will take care of her everyneed.
Glad your nest to comforting you and is looking pretty Kris. Small houses, small rooms perhaps that's how the room came about being called a bedroom since it fills the room. Do you use battery operated tapers for your candlelabra? I found some nice ones that were a good price on Amazon. It's been still so warm in Philadephia I have been busting to put my new linen duvet cover and shams on my goose down that I treated myself to from Moo on etsy for my BD. Guess what I went with taupe - well I have it already in White linen.
Seems I turned this comment into a little catch up my friend... oh Kris I have been so insanely busy that I have not even looked at blog posts doing the editing on my books. Anyhow sending you a big hug.
xoxo
Your bedroom is lovely. Love how you have it decorated and I am so glad that you could get your bed in.
ReplyDeleteThat really makes me angry about that breeder. Your should report him to someone, as that is just plain mean.
I do without so my dogs can have fresh baked chicken, brown rice and Normandy frozen vegetables. Waldo has a liver condition and I read on line that this was better for him than the Hills Medicated Dog Food, for $73.00 for 13 lbs, so I put him on this and he is doing great and of course Lili is on the same diet. Let me tell you, they are waiting for their dinner.
Poor little Peggy, I am so glad that she has a forever home and I know that you and Terry will love her to pieces and make a good home for her.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your lovely cottage.
Lots of hugs, and give some to Peggy too.
Mary
Peggy is so lucky to have you!! Such a shame, but hope she gets some weight on her after her teeth are taken care of. The bedroom is lovely, I like all the serene white. So relaxing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Peggy is now in a loving home with people who will care for her. There is no reason for a breeder to neglect an animal. That's just so selfish and cruel. But Peggy is safe and sound now and right where she needs to be. Your bedroom is so soft an serene. I love it. As an architect Dennis used to design really large homes for people, and often they wanted huge bedrooms. He could never understand why when most people with big homes only use their bedrooms for sleeping. It seemed a waste to him, though he would never tell them that! Anyway, yours is lovely. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect and it's you!
ReplyDeleteWe too just have a bedroom rather than a master, but I am fine with it. The less I have to clean the more time I have to play.
Peggy is adorable and I hope she is doing well.
Love your beautiful room and sending hugs to Miss Peggy. Max had teeth removed last year and he felt much better. Your sweet hound is a lucky little girl to have found you. xo
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Kris!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Peggy! How can people be so cruel? I'm glad you have her and can get her healthy. She now had a life of love and will thrive.
Hugs,
Cecilia
Romantic and cozy....actually how much time do we spend in our bedrooms any way....You and Terry are truly angels...you have made such a difference in the lives of Cooper and now Peggy....I know that you two will get her back in the peak of health.
ReplyDeletevery romantic. I love the throw at the foot off the bed also.
ReplyDeleteIt truly is disgusting that a breeder doesn't take better care of the dogs. Shameful! So glad you are her new parents. She should have a posh life now.
Everything looks so clean and fresh! I love that you can concentrate on making your home yours!! Everything is coming along so nicely. Your dog is so sweet. Thank you for rescuing her and taking good care of her. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe atmosphere in your bedroom is very serene and I'm sure it's a very nice room to go to at the end of a day.
ReplyDeletePeggy is adorable and I hope she is doing well.
