Master Bedroom

Hi Everyone.
Happy Friday and Happy Weekend.

Miss Peggy is recuperating nicely after her surgery yesterday.  No more puppies for this girl!  She is officially retired from being bred in a kennel.

Poor girl will undergo another long surgery and  have 10 teeth removed in a few weeks.  This is why she is so thin.  Peggy has very bad teeth and has not really been eating too well.  I am so mad when I think of this "award winning" breeder with a stellar reputation let this sweet girls teeth get so bad.
We will take care of her and get her bad teeth pulled and hopefully  get her gaining some weight.    Makes me so sad to think that she has had this bad dental issue going on for a long time and the breeder did nothing to help her.  I am so glad we rescued this sweet girl and can give her the care she needs.

Now on to our Master Bedroom.  Now don't blink or you will miss the tour of the Master Bedroom!  Remember this cottage was built in 1949 so there was no such thing as a Master Bedroom.  Just bedrooms.  Enough space to put a bed, dresser and maybe a night stand.

My bedroom is very small but I was excited to see our King Sleep Number Bed would fit along with the two night stands on the main wall.  I love that sleep number bed and was so worried it would not fit in this space.

Lots of natural light comes in this room all day.  Love the soft romantic feel to the bedroom.  My headboard made from old cottage doors fit nicely too.

I have my candle chandelier over the bed for a romantic feel.  Which after looking at the picture I realize I need to put the candles in the holders LOL!

It is quite cozy in this bedroom.  Only about 3 feet left from the end of the bed to the wall!  It is all good with us.  The king sleep bed fit and that is what is important.  We can still move around the bed so it is all good.

I have this faded gray, blue and silver floral throw at the end of the bed for a touch of color in this serene setting.

I have my love birds.

My angel on an old chippy window.

So that concludes the tour of our bedroom in the new place.   I told you not to blink!  We are living large now in a tiny house!

Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend.
Hope to have more pics to show you soon.  Just waiting on some slipcovers for chairs in the kitchen and I need to find a few things for the living room.  I am happy with how the living room and kitchen are coming together.

Hugs,
Kris

  1. Hi Kris.
I love your beautiful bed and that fabulous headboard!!! I'm so glad that it all fit in there perfectly. Also, thank you for rescuing sweet Peggy. I'm so happy that she now has a loving home and that you are taking care of her. She looks like a little Angel. Shame on that breeder. Most of the time it's all about money, and that's sad. Glad she is with you now.

    hugs,

  3. I couldn't help laughing a bit. WE have a small bedroom, but I Think yours is smaller, haha. No matter what,I like our bedroom and it's a great thing that I don't have to Clean a large bedroom that I don't really need.
Your bedroom looks so nice. Would love to sleep in that room too.
Thank Godness that you took poor Peggy from that person!! If you have kennel it means that you shall take care of the poor dogs that stays there. Not leave them in such a state.
Hope you'll have a nice weekend.

  5. Oh, poor Peggy. I hope she feels better soon and certainly she'll feel even better after her dental surgery. My grand dog had 23 teeth pulled a few years ago. She always had bad breath and different vets didn't do anything about it, but clean her teeth. Then they took her to a new dentist and he pulled 23 bad teeth. No more bad breath! Your room looks so good. I love the old doors headboard.

  11. So happy that Peggy has been officially retired! I'm sure she'll be relieved to get rid of this bad teeth as well! Seems that a lot of these "breeders" only care about one thing - money! She's so lucky that you adopted her and she'll thrive in your loving home! Your bedroom is so sweet! I'm sure you're having fun unpacking and decorating with all of your beautiful items! Have a great weekend! 💖

  13. Your bedroom is so pretty! There's plenty of room in there for the bed. I love your bedding, too.

I am so glad that Peggy has found wonderful parents. I hope you gave that breeder a piece of your mind and a large helping of whoop-ass! (Did I say that out loud?) Give that sweet baby a hug from me!!!

Enjoy your weekend, my Sweet Friend!

Miss Peggy must be SO glad you found each other. I want to punch that breeder in the face! 😡

  18. Kris, you are too funny. I think our bedroom in our new little house is the same size as yours. It's cozy that's for sure. can I ask a question about the breeder Peggy came from? Has anyone ever reported the breeder for cruelty? I live in Pennsylvania and there are always breeders in Lancaster County being prosecuted.

  19. Your bedroom is beautiful, cozy, and comfy, Kris. It's wonderful that your king bed with the lovely head board fit in there. The floral throw is very pretty.
Peggy obviously had an even harder life than expected. Poor girl! I'm so glad you adopted her and not only give her love but also medical attention. Shame on the breeder for neglecting her dogs in such a way. That is awful!
Have a wonderful weekend and please give Peggy some cuddles from me!

  23. Love the room!! Ours is very small also. We have lived here for over 35 years and its still small! Lol We asre contemplating moving our bedroom upstairs to a large room, gutting the downstairs room and making a bigger studio for all my stuff. We will see if that ever happens. 😀 Who in their right mind wants to climb stairs as they get older??!! Ha!! Can't wait to see the rest of your home!
    Blessings!

  28. Your room is so romantic! You didn't focus on the wall behind the bed which caught my eye. My house was built in 1976 and the bedrooms are small- ours is barely 12' x 12' so I know what you are dealing with. You do beautiful work!
I'm so angry about Peggy. That breeder just fell down the rungs on the ladder to the bottom! I'm happy for Penny that she has you- you've rescued her in so many ways.

  38. Kris, gorgeous!! Little house so very small, just big enough for love, that's all!! I have this little saying painted around a hole in the library's baseboard. I thought it looked like a mouse house, so painted a little mouse by it and the saying. The smaller the rooms, the less the cleaning. That is a good thing..Happy Weekend..xxoJudy

  40. We bought a king size bed when we moved and it was one of the best decisions ever! Bigger rooms are great, but a bigger bed is more important, it's a beautiful space. Peggy is a blessing to you guys just as you are to her. Happy weekend, Kris!

  41. It's looking really good, Kris. I am SO GLAD your king bed fit. I would not like to downsize to a queen again after sleeping on a King for a long time. The room looks beautiful and romantic...just lovely.

I am so sorry about Peggy's teeth. That just makes me want to wish the original owner would find cavities in all his teeth when he wakes up in the morning. If I were a REAL witch, I would ply my trade and make it happen. I think it is terrible when breeders don't treat their animals like pets--they just breed them until they are no longer useful. Just sad. She's a lucky girl cuz you found her!

Hope you have a great weekend. xo Diana

  52. Kris,
My heart sank when I read about Peggy and her 10 teeth... but it makes sense since the breeder only cared about making puppies and money ... no thought of pre-natal care for the dog, of course never a a thought about the fact of producing so many puppies depletes all the calcium out of those teeth which are bones. Thank God she is now living with you and Terry experiencing love in her forever home that will take care of her everyneed.
Glad your nest to comforting you and is looking pretty Kris. Small houses, small rooms perhaps that's how the room came about being called a bedroom since it fills the room. Do you use battery operated tapers for your candlelabra? I found some nice ones that were a good price on Amazon. It's been still so warm in Philadephia I have been busting to put my new linen duvet cover and shams on my goose down that I treated myself to from Moo on etsy for my BD. Guess what I went with taupe - well I have it already in White linen.
Seems I turned this comment into a little catch up my friend... oh Kris I have been so insanely busy that I have not even looked at blog posts doing the editing on my books. Anyhow sending you a big hug.
    xoxo

  53. Your bedroom is lovely. Love how you have it decorated and I am so glad that you could get your bed in.

That really makes me angry about that breeder. Your should report him to someone, as that is just plain mean.
I do without so my dogs can have fresh baked chicken, brown rice and Normandy frozen vegetables. Waldo has a liver condition and I read on line that this was better for him than the Hills Medicated Dog Food, for $73.00 for 13 lbs, so I put him on this and he is doing great and of course Lili is on the same diet. Let me tell you, they are waiting for their dinner.

Poor little Peggy, I am so glad that she has a forever home and I know that you and Terry will love her to pieces and make a good home for her.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your lovely cottage.

Lots of hugs, and give some to Peggy too.

  55. I'm so glad Peggy is now in a loving home with people who will care for her. There is no reason for a breeder to neglect an animal. That's just so selfish and cruel. But Peggy is safe and sound now and right where she needs to be. Your bedroom is so soft an serene. I love it. As an architect Dennis used to design really large homes for people, and often they wanted huge bedrooms. He could never understand why when most people with big homes only use their bedrooms for sleeping. It seemed a waste to him, though he would never tell them that! Anyway, yours is lovely. Hugs.
