Sweeeeet Give Away

Good Sunday Morning to all of you.

I want to thank all of you that weighed in on the  Social Media choices.  What I came away with from all your comments, is that we all agree blogging provides the more personal way to communicate out of all the choices we have.

My true feeling is some people come into our lives and will be with us until we take our last breath and others will come in to our lives for a shorter time to teach us something or share a certain amount of time with us.

I truly believe this in my own life.  Blogging has given me a way to form friendship with like minded people that I would probably never have had in my path if it were not for blogging.

I think by sharing more of a story with our blog posts it lets everyone know our style, creative heart's, inspiration and most of all a little about us.  I am thankful for all your caring hearts and friendship you share with me.

I have a pretty give away.  This is from me and not from a sponsor.  Just a nice little thank you gift for coming by and supporting my blog.

How many of you love the sound of water running but maybe do not have the room for a big water fountain in your yard or on your deck.

I found this on Amazon.  It is a solar fountain.  I bought two and only needed one.  So I have one to share with one of you lucky peeps.

It is very inexpensive and it will give you a cute little water fountain in any container or birdbath, dish etc. that you have currently in your yard.

All I did was bought a very inexpensive plastic planter from Lowe's.  $10

I added some faux flowers around the edge of the plastic planter and then added put the solar fountain in the planter.  It has section cups to stick to the bottom of the bowl.  Then you fill  water to the edge of the solar fountain base.

Now I have a little water fountain on the deck.  It is a soft sound and very peaceful.  I will share with you that these do not store the solar energy so once it is not in the sun it shuts down.  Ok with me I like it on a hot sunny day when I am out on the deck in the sunshine.

This is my friend Sandy's pretty deck and how she set her fountain up.  Since she did a movie I thought if you want to hear the water sound you can click on her movie.
Thanks Sandy for letting me share this.  If you think my flowers are big and pretty!!! Oh my I will have to take pictures of her beautiful flowers sometime to share.  She is the flower fairy and her flower gardens are just gorgeous.
I also have this sweet hand painted nozzle for your garden hose.  I will add this to the solar fountain in this give away.
Isn't it pretty.  I found these cute pink nozzles on Amazon awhile back.  I contacted a sweet lady on Etsy that paints pretty roses and she agreed to paint up the nozzles for me.

I kept two for me and gave the other nozzles for Mother's Day gifts.  Lorena @ RoseChicFriends on Etsy  used an outdoor enamel paint to keep them from fading and coming off with all the water it would be exposed too.

After I asked her to paint the nozzles for me she asked me if she could take my idea and make these to sell on her blog.

I said absolutely they are so cute and pretty and you are so talented and you have the special paint lol!
Lorena then purchased some of these pink garden hose nozzles and painted them to sell on Etsy.
Here is her Etsy Shop in case you do not win this one in the give away and would like one of these.  The make great gifts for the gardener in your life.

The best is yet to be is a great saying and this cute little painted sign with the aqua blue bike is too adorable.  Adding this to the fun package for the give away.

Soooo cute.  They were cute and pretty in just the pink but then I thought they needed to be even cuter!!!! So I thought I am going to ask a few of those talented ladies out there that can paint pretty flowers to see if one of them wanted to make my vision come true.
I was so thrilled when Lorena contacted me back and said she would love to paint them and had a special enamel paint that would keep them from chippy with the watering.  I love how they came out.
This one is going to be in the giveaway package too.

Yep super cute for any of you summer girls or garden girls out there.

Normally all you would have to do for my giveaway is to leave me a comment.  Easy Peasy is how I roll!!!

I am going to add just a little extra step this time.

I love when we can pay it forward.  So please do something really nice and kind for someone.  We live in a world that is scary and violent and sometimes we all feel we have lost caring and valuing each other.
Sometimes when you could not imagine someone doing something nice or they share some kindness to you we get back to thinking there is good in people.

Do something really nice for someone and come back and leave me a comment.  If you want to share what you did that is beautiful if not and you want to keep it private that is ok too.

I think you are all caring angels in my book and probably do so much for others everyday of your lives.  Just try and do one extra little thing for someone today.  We share so much kindness and giving at the holidays but I think it is great to try and do it all the time.

So my angel warriors go do a special kindness and come back and leave me a comment and I will enter you into my giveaway.

We were almost done with the "dungeon" yesterday and disaster struck!!!! Literally struck Terry.  Thankfully he just got a few cuts on his arm and wrist from the disaster.  I will get into the disaster more when I post the reveal and let you know how we had to scrap plan A and do a plan B.
Have a super fun week.
Hugs
Kris

  1. Kris, So glad Terry was hurt worse then that. He's a tough fellow, thankfully. I am anxious to see the room. What cute things in your give away. The flowers on the hose nozzle, so cute and clever...so you girl. I have never seen or heard of a solar fountain. I like the way you did yours. Stay cool there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. Glad Terry was not hurt. Remodeling and repurposing can be hazardous sometimes. Took my Mom for a mani/pedi. She deserves it as she takes care of my 90 year old Grandmother who lives with her. Mom hardly ever gets to do anything for herself. If I win your giveaway, I will share it with my Mom. - Tammy

    1. Awwww so sweet.  See this is so sweet that you gave your mom a little break and treat. Love it. Just what I was talking about. Sometimes it is just the little things that make a big difference in someone's life. You are a great daughter. Good Luck.

  4. Please enter my name in the giveaway. It is so funny that you ask about doing something nice for someone today. This morning I had to go to the store for somethings to make lunch later today and my neighbor was out in the yard. We got to talking and she needed some things from the store too, but felt she did not have time to go. I told her I was going and would pick them up for her. Just got back with her things and mine.

  5. So happy Terry is okay. Never meeting him, I care deeply about him and you. I think you're aware of that.

Loving the fountain. We don't have a large deck for a large fountain. This is a pretty option.

The minute I saw the sprayer my heart sang Going to check out the Etsy shop.

We are always helping family out by being part of their support system. It's rewarding to put your worries aside to help the ones you love.

  8. Oh no! Renovation boo boos are the worst. I hope he's feeling ok. Your giveaway is lovely. You are always so generous and sweet. I am actually off to a friend's house today to help her move into a new home nearby. She is on her own and a little scared, so while I may not be super strong, I figured any support would be good...xoxo

  12. Hi Kris
Wow you are really giving away so many amazing treats. That solar fountain is fabulous, love love love the hand painted hose sprayer, what treats you are adding* How I love your blog* hope you never stop blogging
so when my husband and I were filling up our RV because he is taking it to cape cod to fish for the day, an older man approached us and said he card declined so we put gas in his car for him. Hopefully that counts as doing something nice because my husband was actually the one driving. Anyway, I love that you are having people add what they have done or at least say they did something. How I adore you Kris

  15. Oh gosh, Kris! So glad Terry is okay. What an amazing and sweet giveaway. That hose nozzle...swooning! Paying it forward - so important now, more than ever. One thing I often do is go out of my way to find a manager at a store, restaurant, etc. and let them know if an employee had done a good job. It takes seconds, and they often seen surprised that I am there to give a compliment rather than a complaint. Anyway, thanks for being a blog rockstar and an even more awesome person! Jane

What she didn’t realize is that we know each other. She still doesn’t know it was me! Glad your hubby is ok! Things can happen in a heartbeat. Love your blog. Will be following besides on IG. Pam

  18. Good morning, sweet Kris! What a darling idea!!!! We have a fountain already, so I'll pass, but that is a wonderful way to get the sound and spurt of water that is such a welcoming sound and sight during these lazy, wondrous months of summer. Have a great day and I look forward to seeing what you and your SUPERMAN come up with!

Good morning mon amiee.  Hope your day is starting out wonderful.  It is so nice to wake with the windows open and hearing the quiet of the early morning except for the birds starting their chirping to welcome in the new day.  That is the best sound ever!!!!  Now the people next door have the grounds people there cutting the grass.  There is nothing better than the smell of fresh cut grass.  I am taking that in right now.  Wow how some smells really wake your senses and make you feel great.

Off to watch my two grands today.  Hope you have a good day today.  Summer ahhhhhhhhhhh.  Love it!

  19. I look forward to seeing the dungeon finished. Sorry to hear that Terry ws hurt. I don't like patting myself on the back for a good deed, but I want to enter your giveaway. Yesterday I was in line at the cashier at the grocery store. A young Mom with 2 small children was in front of me. She had a few items for her kids to have lunch and breakfast. Her food stamp card wouldn't go through, and the cashier told her to call them. She was almost in tears, so I told the cashier just to add her items to my bill. She was so thankful that she hugged me with tears in her eyes. When she left with her groceries, the cashier told me that she also had a sick child at home. But my greatest work is all the cats I take care of. I shelter elderly cats. I have 12 at the moment. I also tend to some feral cat colonies. And I do take canned cat food donations. Most of the old cats have no teeth. (jozywails@gmail.com)

  20. Count me in for the giveaway. My 91 years old cousin in law is very hard of hearing and talking on the phone is so difficult so I send her notes with photos of us and the house, etc. much easier on both of us. Glad Terry is all right.

  21. Oh no! I'm glad Terry is ok! Goodness.
The items in the giveaway are so pretty! Who doesn't love the sound of gurgling water too? However, I have a large fountain already so please let someone else win.
My good deed is in the making - a woman at church recently lost her husband in a car wreck. They were in the process of adopting their four grandchildren as the parents are unable/unwilling to take care of them. I am going to go purchase gift cards for her to use whenever she needs them - kid-friendly restaurants, grocery, etc. it's not much but I hope it will ease her burden.

  22. Such pretty things.......love them all!! Kris, you are such a generous person, always looking for the good in everything......inspiring to us all. Our world is changing in ways I would never have imagined............absolutely people are losing sight of each other.. it is alarming actually. I always look for ways to bless people and enjoy it. I guess the latest thing I've done is help my husband put up a surround on a bathtub of one of his clients. They want to sell it, and after a plumbing leak had a huge hole in the wall, but no money to fix it. We bought the materials and have finished the job, (it actually was way more involved and required several days of work) hoping this will help them get a quick sale.......they are good people and we are happy we were able to help. It also helps us to be feeling like we still have a purpose on this earth.......we are in deep grief still after losing our 47 yr old son to cancer 18 mos ago. He is with Jesus, whole and happy........but life down here is very difficult right now. I just love your blog and hope you will continue....love all the projects, you both are such a great team. I hope your husband is okay........yes, sometimes, you have to scrap plan A and go to the next one....Blessings, Linda

I do not care how old they are it just does not feel right when a child goes before us. I am so sorry. Terry is ok just some small cuts on his arms thank you God. Have a great new start to the week.

It's so true that not everyone becomes a best friend for life but hopefully for however long the relationship goes, we're all learning from and giving to each other. Right now I'm out of town spending the week helping to clean my mom and dad's house as my mom passed away. I spent hours today cleaning a scary kitchen lol. Does that count???

  28. Kris, I am so glad that you are going to continue blogging here in this format. I think it is easier to read and connect here. I love the giveaway! I started a new job and met some nice ladies that needed something that would make their days easier. I was able to assist in that I had some extras that I really wasn't using. So I just gifted them on. I'm sorry to be vague but one of them reads your blog and I really didn't do this to get any "credit" I just felt they both could use the items more than I needed them and felt in my heart that I needed to gift them to these lovely ladies. Thank you for having such a great blog!! I love the ideas you come up with, it all looks great and so put together! Barbara P

  30. Hello,
I love the giveaway. :-) My friend Bonita was behind in her planting and getting her yard ready for summer. I helped her with planting some Canna Lilies I had already started. Her deck area looks great and she was really pleased. As the canna lily grow she will have a private area, as they can grow up to 6 to 8 feet tall.

I am so happy you will be blogging. I am blessed with the friendship we have built.

Hugs to Terry!! Glad he is alright.

  31. Kris, you are so generous and kind with your giveaways! I've never seen these solar fountains. I bet they sound so peaceful. It is 10 pm, so a little too late for me to do an act of kindness right now, lol, but I will share that tonight when my hubby and I went to the local pizza place for dinner, we loved the young woman that was our server (friendly, kind, attentive), so we left her an extra big tip.

Very scary about your hubby! I hope he's ok.

    1. Kris, could I nominate Melanie for this beautiful giveaway? She did a very big act of kindness for me this week. I just opened her package of 3 books she wanted to share with me from her collection. We both recently discovered our love of cooking memoirs and that our shelves both hold so many of the same authors. And she went to the trouble to do all this for me in the midst of AC failure in her house in the hot summer temps.

I think the midwest grows very thoughtful and sweet women!

      Thank you, Kris!

  32. What a nice gesture, Kris! You really are so thoughtful. I have always loved to hear fountains, what a relaxing sound:) Tomorrow my son is seeing his tutor for the last time this summer. I pay her by the hour but teachers are routinely underappreciated. So I bought her a gift card to get something just for herself, hoping to show her that we truly value her time and appreciate her. 34. Kris, so glad your sweet hubby was not seriously hurt. Since I'm not very lucky, I'd love to know where you got the adorable bicycle sign. God willing, we plan to "totally" retire in about a year and I'd love to have one of them to hang by our front door as a sweet reminder of times to come. As for paying it forward, I'm fortunate to volunteer at an outreach ministry where we get to do wonderful things for wonderfully deserving people every day. Without a doubt, it is the most rewarding work I've ever done! Blessings to you and Terry.

This site has the exact one I found at Home Goods but they are sold out but will get more in so you can leave your email and they will let you know when new stock comes in.  For some reason it would not let me copy the  link

      It is at www.zuilly.com

Thank you for helping at the volunteer outreach ministry that sounds wonderful and so rewarding.  Thank you so much for coming by and good luck.

  36. Oh my gosh even when you try to do an act of kindness recipients of your kindness have to be weary.  That is what is so sad that when someone offers you a ride that right away your mind goes to someone trying to harm you.  I am glad you could show her that not all people are bad in this world.  That what we hear on the news and read in the papers are not how we are as a whole.  That there are good people that just want to be kind.  So bravo to you for seeing this women and knowing how hot it was and that she had a long walk.  You gave her a beautiful act of kindness and also taught her that not everyone has a mean motive when they help.  God does put people in our paths for a reason.  His was for you to teach this lady that there still is goodness and kindness in the people we live around in our communities.

So you my angel warrior deserve a big hug and pat on the back for this act of kindness.  Thank you from my heart.

  37. Love your little floral fountain! This week, I've had the opportunity to minister to a long time friend. Her mother (also my friend!) is on her death bed at home, and I've been able to spend time with her while my friend has to work. I took care of a bit of laundry, and we've been able to feed them as well. It's a hard time, and having gone through a similar situation with my dad several years ago, I understand how difficult it is. This sweet friend helped me through that time by sending daily prayers and encouragement through texts (as we were 600 miles apart). Sure love when we can give back to friends who've given so much to us. A side note, I just bought a pillow cover for my shabby office that has that exact same bicycle print!! This little wall hanging would go perfectly with it!

  40. I have never seen anything like your fountain....I love it! You always amaze me with your ideas! LOVE LOVE your vision for the nozzle...only you my dear! xx Loretta did such a beautiful job of painting it for you too.
I have an interesting story about kindness....hubby and I visited our daughter and son-in-law in Raleigh over the weekend. They just moved into their first home together so we went to help them settle which entailed hanging pictures. We all drove to the local Lowe's,and the boys grabbed what they needed and we all headed to cash out. A beautiful older woman was sitting at the register, her name was Carol. I couldn't help but say, "Carol you are really beautiful," she replied, "Honey, you've made my day. I have Cancer and am in Chemotherapy right now. I don't feel very pretty and smiled!" My daughter and I were shocked....I had no idea when I said this that she was in such a dark place in her life. As we exited my daughter and I both could not believe this woman was still at work smiling while inside of her was this terrible Cancer demon.

  41. I hope Terry is recovering and will be your "best helper" again soon! You two are really a creative team..
My kindness is not about me, but my 15 year old twin grandsons. They stopped their usual pool games at my sister's to play and help a 3 year old boy that recently had some surgery on his left arm. They guided him, made sure he could safely go where ever he wanted (he had a good life jacket on) and only played games he could play for over 2 hours. The mom was in tears as she said most kids would not stop their fun times to do that and she told me we had really taught those kids about being kind to younger kids. Made me a very proud Mimi. I hope I have taught all my grandchildren about kindness - I had a sticker on a previous car that I try to hold true -
