Hi Everyone.
It is a very gloomy and a rain filled day so not so bright pictures. Sorry :(
I know I have shown you my wonderfully made slipcovers from Lisa Harmon over at Fabric 8 Slipcovers.
Love her work. Recently I gave her my slipcovers to make a new ruffle and piping on the arms and cushion covers with the same fabric as my drapes. Lisa did a fabulous job. I just got them and want to show them to you.
This was how they looked with the white ruffles. |
Lisa did a great job adding the buffalo check light gray and white ruffles to the chairs. |
Now my 4 conversation area chairs have the ruffles and piping to match the fabric of my drapes. |
The piping is the matching fabric on the arms and cushion covers too. |
I think the new ruffles and piping pull the room together now with my drapes. |
I changed up the round conversation area to two chairs straight and facing the two other chairs that are on an angle. It opens up the entry way to walking into the room. |
These are the new slipcovers with the buffalo check fabric ruffles. |
I love Lisa's work. She always does a nice job. I did iron the ruffles but I like the shabby look and style to these chairs. I want to sit in them and feel comfy . If you need slipcovers I will add Lisa's link below. Lisa is super sweet and will work with any design ideas you have. Lisa Fabric 8 Slipcovers |
Next Up will be showing you some changes to my 3 in 1 room. I have one bedroom that is my office area, my make up area and also my guest room.
This hot mess is my office this past weekend. The walls got painted Behr white mocha. It is a light cream color. |

ReplyDeleteKris, I really like the new trim and ruffles. It gives them more dimension. I am really anxious to see your 3 in 1 room. Terry better get his tools out for a long coffee table. LOL. Your new paint color is soft and still light , I like that. Blessings to you busy girl, xoxo, love, Susie
ReplyDeleteLove the update/changes to the sitting area chairs. Wish I had a small percentage of your ambition. I need to just get things organized vs you making everything so pretty. I just don't seem to be able to find the gumption. I do enjoy seeing what you accomplish.
ReplyDeleteI really love the buffalo check ruffle! Such a pretty room to relax in. I always look forward to seeing your ideas come to life. :)
ReplyDeleteYOU really know what you're doing, Kris. To take a small space and use the amount of furniture in just the right proportions, angles and locations is not an easy task to achieve, yet you do it every time, spot on. LOVE how the buffalo checks match!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Kris
ReplyDeleteLove the new ruffles on your gorgeous chairs. You really know your decorating*** Can't wait to see what you will do in the guest room
have a wonderful day Kris

Ooo, I love the ruffles in the buffalo check! And I like how you've arranged the room. It does look so cozy and inviting. Get a rug! A coffee table might make the room feel crowded. Hmmm, looking forward to how y'all get a queen bed to work in the spare room. I need the ideas for ours!
ReplyDeleteThe new ruffles look wonderful on those chairs!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the new ruffles!....and anxious to see what your office will look like! Have a great day Kris!
ReplyDeleteThe new ruffles are the finishing touch in this room. They look so pretty with the curtain and the wallpaper. Love the new seating arrangement too. You have done more tweaking and refining in the short time you have been in your house than I've done during the twenty-two years we've lived here. Hmm, think I need to up my game...ha!
ReplyDeleteLove the new ruffles and how they tie with the drapes. Can't wait to see how you are managing to fit a queen bed and your office/makeup space in that room.
ReplyDeleteLove these new slipcovers and the way you have the chairs set. Can't wait to see if you decide rug, coffee table or both.
ReplyDeleteCould magical Terry be working on a murphy bed? Hmmm, I'll wait and see
Enjoy your day
Cindy
I love how you are letting your home evolve--I really think you need to live in a space before you make certain choices. How the light plays...in a home...and then learn to dance with it. Nummy!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely charming, Kris! Your home always looks so lovely, so warm and welcoming which is not easy to pull off with all white decor, but you certainly manage it! I absolutely love that wallpaper, every time I see it I'm just the tiniest bit tempted to add some to my house! xo
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new Buffalo check ruffles! We must be channeling one another....I was just browsing the internet and found a great idea I will be doing using Buffalo check!! Can't wait to see what Terry's got up his sleeve for a queen bed!
ReplyDeleteKathleen
So cute! Ruffles do add a lot don’t they! I live in a small home so I know how it is trying to get a room to be multifunctional. My instincts said “yes” for a rug in the living room....I think they always complete the look. 😊
ReplyDeleteKris, I have always loved the idea of having four conversation chairs rather than sofas! I've never managed to talk the man of the house into it but it just makes so much sense. Friends and family would just naturally fall into a great conversation with this arrangement and yet it still makes for a reading area for anyone wanting quiet space.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful now and your friend did a great job on the ruffles. I love that you always try to pass along word of another's work when you're happy with it.
Now how in the world can your husband make a room bigger?? I shall stay tuned to see!
I love the new look of the ruffles, Kris! Lisa does a beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing the new 3-in-1 room! It's funny after you live in a place for awhile, you start to make changes for function!
I can't wait to see what Terry comes up with. How fun. I like the new ruffles.
ReplyDeletePretty and then more pretty! If you think your studio was a mess, you should have seen mine this past weekend. I donated 7 more boxes to Goodwill. thanks for stopping by my blog, Kris. Love ya!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a tall order to get a queen size bed and everything else in the room, BUT, have no doubt that Super Terry can get it done! Love the ruffles on the chairs, Kris. Everything is looking so pretty..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteThose new ruffles and piping look so pretty. Wish I could see it in person! I love everything you and Terry do! Am excited to see how he'll get a queen bed into that room. Hubby and I have thought a murphy bed is a good idea for small rooms, but then you need to be able to have the room to put it down (and/or move all the stuff that is blocking it!). Always fun to see what your new projects are! We are still hot and dry here in central Oregon.. it rained once a few nights ago for about 10 minutes, and that was it for the last 2-/12 months! We are becoming a dust bowl I think. Have a wonderful week! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteAs always ... I look forward to what you two are up to next. :-) The ruffles are lovely.

ReplyDeleteMay I ask the source for the pale grey buffalo check fabric? I've been searching forever for something similar!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam,
DeleteI brought my drapes on Etsy and then asked the lady that made my drapes to sell me the fabric needed for the ruffles. Here is the link.

Hope that helps.
Kris
Great idea! Adding the curtain fabric to your chair ruffles really pulled everything together! Those chairs look so stylish and comfy! Looking forward to seeing the room switcheroo!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! I have a question about your multi purpose room. I have a small room I am using as an office, crafting site and twin bed. So I can't wait to see how you work your space out . I'm at a loss as to how to make it function better. What size is the room? Thanks for all your great postings.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty,
DeleteMy room is 10 x 12 or maybe 12 x 12 not sure but it is small. Terry is going to make a Murphy Bed for me that will fold up onto the wall and then you pull it down when you need it. It looks like a cabinet in the room and takes up very little room. I used one corner of this room for my make up table and the other corner with a little bit longer wall for my office area. That leaves one long wall for the murphy bed and it can fold out into the room if I keep it horizontal. They do make Vertical Murphy beds too. I j just do not want the bed taking up the whole room when it is down so we will make ours horizontal. Hope that makes sense. You will have to wait and see it in my post when we get it done and I think it will make more sense.
Hugs,
Kris
Love the checked ruffles on your chairs - that really made a big difference in how the whole room looks!
ReplyDeleteJust love the new ruffles! The grey certainly does tie it all together. What a talented gal!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I love the buffalo check ruffles - they definitely draw the room together.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at your window and basket hanging from it. In our bathroom remodel we are having a big medicine cabinet built over the sink and toilet. We removed a cabinet that hung on the wall behind the medicine cabinet. We will only have two long towel racks on the wall and I need something that is fun yet takes up little space. I'm think an old window (I have one hanging in my shed) where I can hang a few fun pieces might be just the trick. Thanks for the inspiration.
I think the Murphy bed is a super idea for your small room. Bet that room will look really good when you finish it.
ReplyDeleteAs always ... I look forward to what you two are up to next. :-) The ruffles are lovely.
