Happy Fall Y'all!
I love this southern way of greeting in fall. I had to say it even though I live in the Midwest. You southerner's should not have all the fun with this cute saying!!!
Here is a little fall from my front yard. I was hoping all the pretty greenery that was over flowing the flower boxes would have lasted for fall decor. The frost came in the other night and they did not survive.
So I just worked with what I had.

Junk Chic Cottage Fall Front Decor. |
|
My sweet fall angel hangs on the front door to greet guests. |
|
The Garden Birdhouse got a little fall decor too. |
|
Filled up the empty flower boxes with some fall things. |
|
Even the sweet cherub birdbath got some fall decor. I have to use everything faux when it comes to pumpkins or gourds. Mr. Squirrel has no manners and takes all of that kind of stuff away. So faux it is for this front yard. |
|
I was going to put away the bike for the season but then decided to leave her out and doll her up with some fall things. |
|
Replaced the summer wreaths off the two front windows to fall wreaths. |
|
We are ready on the porch for the trick or treaters at the end of the month.
Now to tackle the backyard and clear away the last hold outs of summer plants and winterize the deck and get the roses cut back for winter.
Hope you are having a great weekend. Fall is finally here to stay in Illinois.
The trees are beginning to change. Terry and I have an escape weekend to Michigan at the end of this month. I know the trees will be at peak then. I think that road trip is going to be a pretty one.
I finally figured out my new door mirror and I will have that to show you soon.
Happy Sunday Happy New Week. Kris :) |
Dear dear friend, HELLO! I haven't seen you around for a while and was thinking of you this weekend as we went out for a really wonderful fall adventure on Saturday. Isn't it GORGEOUS????? I love every detail you've put into your cottage décor and may you enjoy all the festivities surrounding fall. Our weekend was so delightful filled with all the aromas and sights of the season. LOVE!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall, Kris! I like the color you've taken on for the season out front! That sunshine does a world of good. We got the temps, but no sunshine yet, just rain - so messy! I love the cooler temps, but not so much the winter cold to come. A weekend getaway sounds perfect, and we need one too. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHehe, go ahead use our Fall saying. It's cute, isn't it? We had one of our cold fronts come in last night dropping out temps from the 80's to the 50's. Yay! It feels like Fall! Guess it's time to clean out the greenhouse and trim plants back so they will be ready to move in a month. Can't wait to see your door mirror and I'm jealous of your leaf peeking getaway! I just got back from NC where I went to an artists' conference. Fun!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so festive for fall! We just started getting cooler weather a couple of days ago and I hope our leaf color starts soon!
ReplyDeleteVery cheery! Our porch decorations are mostly dictated by raccoons! We have nothing over nature. haha!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so cute and colorful.
ReplyDeleteI just moved my bike, which stays out year round, to the back yard and you've given me some ideas to decorate it for fall beyond the nasturtiums dripping out of the basket.
I love your outdoor decor! Not many trees have turned colors here. I never get trick or treaters here.

Kris, your window boxes would have looked so gorgeous with fall added if frost hadn't come by, but they look just as gorgeous now too. Love all the fall touches and that darling door angel is so precious. Have a wonderful time on your road trip. You will see some beauty that is for sure..Happy Monday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteYour house looks so pretty all decked out for fall. Silly me just bought some more mini pumpkins at the farmstand and I have them outside...I'm trying to figure out how to keep them away from the squirrels.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you left the bike out because I love it! Your fall decor is so pretty! We actually had a cool front come in a few hours ago and it's dropped all the way down to 62º which is pretty much "winter weather" here, lol! It's so nice to give my a/c a little break. :)
ReplyDeleteSo much pretty, Kris! Your place looks lovely in any season. I adore all the color. Our temps have just started to dip. We had the AC on Saturday and on Sunday the heat kicked on. Wacky weather for sure...but at least so far there's only been rain...no snow!! Yay!! ;) xo
ReplyDeleteLOVE how pretty your house looks all decked out for Fall!! So charming and inviting!!

Debbie
Your home really does have a cute cottage look. I like the floral transformation. We still haven’t had a frost but it’s been pretty cold here lately. I have to empty all my planters and store them for the winter so that’s my big job ahead. The colors came on fast up here- we are “at peak” right now. I am pretty sure though that downstate MI is still pretty green. I haven’t had problems with squirrels going after my pumpkins and gourds but the chipmunks have planted sunflower seeds in my planters and plants keep popping up!
ReplyDeleteKris, I used a bunch of faux things for the front also. I do have three tiny real pumpkins hope the squirrels don't know real from faux. LOL. I love the bike. You are a great decorator. I love the way your whole front looks. Stay warm and have some fall fun before you know what comes...dang don't even want to think it. It was 29 degrees this morning with frost .Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, I love your happy little orange pumpkin on the chair, he's adorable! And the bike definitely is a part of fall, think of all the wandering we love to do in this beautiful season. I hope your road trip will be lovely and that you'll find just the sort of thing you love, with potential galore. Happy wandering!
ReplyDeleteYour fall decors are stunning!

ReplyDeleteNo one does window boxes like you Kris! You’re the master :).
ReplyDeleteQuestion...how do you prevent your bike from rusting?
So cute. The first freeze is always a little sad to me. We haven't had ours yet but It will be here before too long.
