Hello Sweet Blogging Friends.
We are on the path to cooking, baking, buying gifts, wrapping and decorating in the next few weeks.
This past Saturday was Small Business Saturday support shopping. I hope a lot of you took advantage of buying those great gifts for family and friends from small business.
After all the small business owners help support our communities.
I wanted to share some great gift ideas and encourage you to go onto sites like Etsy and Ebay and your small shops in your town to purchase that perfect gift.

First gift idea I would love to share with you comes from my friend Cil Stephens. I think most of you saw the beautiful Witch Angel she gifted me and then she also made a few Wrens dolls and gave me one for my fund raiser awhile back.

Cil has this sweet blonde angel that I adore for sale. Love her lace and button blouse. |
|
This sweet dark hair angel sitter with the cute floral top is for sale too. |
|
Love this sweet one with the vintage lace also for sale. |
|
Look at this sweet angel in the wreath. The wreath and angel come together and are for sale. If you would like any of these or something made by Cil you can contact her at her email cilstephens.@gmail.com |
|
Cil is also sewing some beautiful ornaments like this one you see above. She also has many other projects like this so please contact her and let her know if you want to purchase any of her sweet homemade gifts to give to family and friends. |

Now onto some other sweet gifts you can find on the internet. This was on Oprah's Favorite List for 2018. Kate Weilser is a small business owner and makes beautiful and yummy chocolates. This is Carl her snowman made of cocoa and chocolate that you put the whole snowman into a pitcher of warm milk and you have a tasty hot cocoa for everyone in the family. This would make a great family gift. You can find this guy on Amazon.com

When I grew up in Michigan Sanders Chocolates were the popular gifts at the holidays. These are my all time favorite treat. Nothing better than sweet and salty together in one tasty treat. You can find these and other sweet treats here. |
|
This would make a beautiful hostess gift. |
|
I showed you these cute mugs I got on Etsy and then just added my own hot cocoa and candy canes. |
|
I tied off the cups in cello bags and added a gift card. Makes for a great gift.
I just wanted to share a few Christmas gift ideas. I really love the idea of buying gifts from small business owners and also making gifts of your own to give.
This final gift is one of the most special gifts you can give and I hope each of you do one or two of these to have in your car this season.

All you have to do is collect some things that the homeless need to survive on the streets. The most asked for thing in shelters is SOCKS. You can get great socks that are thick and warm at the dollar store.
In fact you can get almost all the things for a blessing bag at the dollar store. Protein bars, first aid kit, Tylenol, chapstick, toothpaste, soap etc. You can put these bags together for less than $10 to $15 dollars.
Keep them in your car and when you see someone homeless on the street you can hand this out to them. Also here in the midwest I keep a couple of old coats in my car to give out to the people on the streets too.
Hope this inspired you to think of getting your crafty on to make some gifts or help out small business peeps with purchasing gifts from them. Have a great week I have my annual charity girlfriend party this coming Saturday so I hope to have some pictures to share with you after the party. Have a great week. Hugs, Kris |
I love all of your great gift ideas. The angels are really pretty and I love the snowman hot chocolate. I have been looking at Oprah's gift giving list too.
ReplyDeleteHave a day.

You are seriously the most thoughtful person, Kris - I sure wish we lived closer!! Wonderful ideas, that blessing bag is the best. We don't see any homeless in my area but I remember when I lived in NYC I used to go into a restaurant and get a meal wrapped up and give it to someone on the street. Sadly they didn't always want it, they wanted cash for their addiction.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean the ones that refuse food usually do just want money for drugs. Sad. A lot of the homeless have shelters and are just begging for money for their habit but there are those that live outside that will appreciate this stuff. Around by me their are not a lot of homeless either but when we drive into Chicago to see the lights and do other things there are so many homeless. Especially on Lower Wacker Drive. It is underground and they camp out down there. So sad to see so many without homes, jobs or good lives.

Good morning dear, dear Kris! I was just thinking of you when I woke up this morning! Oh how I love small business. I am always going out to visit my small business friends for a chat AND a purchase! Unfortunately, this past weekend, I was unable to go buy from them, but I do know that via IG, a few of them got some business from my photo shares. That's about all I can do at times, but it's so fun to help spread the talent!
ReplyDeleteHaving fun decorating? Any snow for you? We're getting some tonight.
You are so kind. Those are all great gift options. I love supporting small businesses.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Kris and I shop often on Etsy. I love all the sweet items you shared.
ReplyDeleteI have been busy decorating and finished this weekend. Now photos have to happen and baking will begin soon.
Enjoy your day
Cindy
Lots of great ideas -- I prefer shopping online at small businesses but if I DO go out to shop, I still prefer the small, boutique gift shops. Downtown Wheaton, Glen Ellyn and of course Geneva and St. Charles are all favorite places to shop for me. Off to check out those cute angels. I really like that stocking too!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas Kris. As an artist, I appreciate the peeps who buy locally/handmade. Next year, I am going to officially launch my business! Excited and nervous but I know I'm doing what I'm meant to do!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
Great ideas, Kris! I've been doing some small business shopping too! Love Cil's angels! So cute! Looking forward to seeing pics of and reading about your annual party! Always a favorite post! Take care and enjoy the pre-holiday fun! 😘
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely gift ideas. It is all about giving. Cil has some beautiful angels, so very special and homemade. Small business need our help. Thanks for sharing some awesome gifts for the holidays. xo
ReplyDeleteKris, I love all of these! That snowman is much too pretty to drink, so I would just let him sit around all year! And chocolate-covered potato chips...oh my gosh...I would eat myself sick! :-) Yesterday, while at Wally World, I found some Oreo-flavored candy canes! I have them sitting on the counter so that I can drool over them before I tear into them and eat the whole box!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of keeping the bags in the car for the homeless! Everyone seems to think about them during the holidays, but we need to remember them all year! I will definitely be doing this for all year round! Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful gift ideas! Love you sweet friend!
I've always loved those cute angels!

You are so kind and thoughtful. I appreciate the ideas and love the baggie filled with things for the homeless.

I love supporting local businesses and do it often. I'd much rather give my cash to a small business rather than a giant box store. Of course, I haven't really started shopping yet. I need to get on that quick! Enjoy the week!!
ReplyDeleteKris, you are such a wonderful person. This world could use more like you, for sure my friend...Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteHi Kris - I love the baggie idea. We often go to Milwaukee during the holidays for different events and inevitability come across folks you could use this helping hand. I will definitely be packing up some care packages to keep in my care and try to sprinkle some love over people in need. Thanks for the wonderful idea. Jane
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more about supporting small businesses. Oh, those potato chips look amazing! I love your idea about the kits for homeless/shelters and the spare coats in your car. You are a good soul, Kris!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that buying local from small businesses is the way to go. Heading to a craft fair with my daughter tomorrow to see what treasures we can find. Your last gift idea touched me deeply and I'm going to incorporate this idea into my holiday gift giving plans. Thank you for the idea. xo
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas and some darling things! I shop Etsy quite a bit.. love supporting crafts people. Great idea to carry the little bags of goodies in your car, and also some coats. I have too many coats and keep wanting to donate them, and then I don't.. but I like the idea of carrying a couple in the car for when I see a family or people asking for help. I almost always give a few dollars if I can too. Sounds like you are in "full speed ahead" mode! I'm not anywhere near ready for Christmas! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteKris...what a kind soul you are....these are fabulous ideas.
ReplyDeleteNow...I am searching for a great menu for my Bunco ladies...I remember you have a get together ea year with girlfriends...would you suggest a few of your menus..and I need EASY...crock pot easy...:)
So many great ideas here! For the first time, I bought Oprah's Favorite Things issue and I'm having a ball with it! She really has good stuff in there! Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! The Angels are such beautiful

Great ideas!! I enjoy Etsy. I met an amazing Wisconsin artist thru Etsy. My Giant Strawberry is the name of her shop. She now has her own website. I just ordered some art work from her for gifts. You are right on about how special these artists are.
ReplyDeleteI like your keeping a coat in your car idea. I have some of my older coats and my husbands, what a great idea to put them to use. Thank You!
