Hello sweet bloggers.
I got back from our Michigan trip and it was so wonderful.
The rain held off until Sunday afternoon when we were heading home.
It was cloudy but we still walked on the beach and enjoyed the pretty cottage house.

I loved this front room. It was decorated so cute. As you can see not a lot of sunshine coming in those windows! No rain so it is all good with me. |
|
All of her pretty furniture in each room was fabulous. |
|
This was the other living room area. I loved that this house had so many places to hang out. |
|
You guys were all anxious to see what I bought. Well it was these funky sunglasses!!!! Yep! no chippy shabby pretties found on this trip. :( The purpose was to relax and enjoy the beach and house. I am not sure about you but when I go places like this I either find a million treasures to bring home or not much! I did get a few candles and little things along with the sunglasses. It was just a fun and relaxing trip. |
|
The flowers are beginning at Junk Chic Cottage. I got my flower boxes planted and also my bike basket done. |
|
The perennials are beginning to come back to life. Pretty soon you will not see the dark mulch it will be filled with roses and hydrangeas and flowers. |
|
It is a welcome sight to see everything coming back to life.
We had a long winter and not too much of a Spring.
Lots of rain but hoping the nice temps and the sunshine will start to be more often and the plants will thrive.
I will have to take pictures in about a month when everything fills in.
I am working on the back patio/deck.
I am getting out my pretty lounge chair and getting my flowers going back there.
I hope to show you that soon. With all the rain it has been hard to get everything planted.
Have a great rest of the week and a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Kris
PS: I did find a beautiful treasure right before we went on our trip to Michigan. I am working on it and hope to have that up to take pictures and show it soon. xoxo |
Oh, Kris, you have too many teases! I can't wait to see. Your garden is going to be quite the beautiful sight in just a little while. You are so good to be getting things done in between the rain. I'm not that good yet. Thanks for your visit and I was wondering how long that insert will last!..Your hair looks so cute and the glasses look very cool..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteyes, agree with you on the feast or famine issue of shopping. Looking forward to seeing how your flowers fill in. I need to create better planters in our backyard.
ReplyDeleteI adore that house!!! and your garden is really taking off. Enjoy the rain, we have yet to have any this spring. I can't remember ever watering the garden this early before. Have a great weekend! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had such a nice, relaxing trip! I love that cottage and the decor. Your flowers are so pretty. I just now started on mine today. I hope to get more done tomorrow. I looked at our 10 day weather forecast and there is a chance of thunderstorms every single freaking day. When is this going to end?!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip. Love those glasses
ReplyDeleteGood morning my pal!
ReplyDeleteTHAT COTTAGE.....that is a great model to give some decorating ideas! I love that blue accent on the ceiling, as well as the blue painted armoire! WOW!!!! That must have been a sensational place to relax. Yes, just like you all, we are having a rainy and even colder than normal spring. It's giving us beautiful blooms (and allergies) so we are enjoying a lot of color, while we wear our PARKAS!!!!!!!! OK, there has to be some light at the end of this tunnel for us, right?
Oh what a fabulous place to stay! Nice! You look adorable in your new shades! Love your garden coming back to life. We've had a wet Spring too. Trying not to complain as I know all too soon, it will be hot, hot, hot!
ReplyDeleteSaying goodbye to my gardens and house as we pack everything up and move. I'm looking forward to whipping the farmhouse flowerbeds into shape. Here's hoping I don't have any run ins with snakes. 😬
Happy Spring!
Kris, I am so glad that you have a great time. And just look at your cute little self with those adorable sunglasses! I wish I could find some pretty ones to go over my regular glasses! I have to buy those ugly ones! Oh well, better than sun burning my eyeballs out huh? Happy Memorial Day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

ReplyDeleteKris - what is on the back tire of the bike, it looks like peonies. Flowers are gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a nice relaxing trip, Kris! You rock those sunglasses by the way. Hoping to get my bedding plants in tomorrow. Like you, so late this year because of the weather.

Oh, Kris, you look fabulous in your new sunglasses, and your trip sounds every bit of what I hope ours will be next week. So glad you had a good weekend. Love the beach cottage.
ReplyDeleteI'm about 1 car load away, plus my planting tote and stool in the garage, to being completely out of the house. Can I get an amen?!! Will dig up a few perennials when I get back and that's it, hoping the furniture is gone while we're away (fingers crossed).
I love the sunglasses. Glad you had a lovely trip. Always nice to just get away.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed your trip! Diggin the groovy new shades! Your flowers are so gorgeous, as always. I hope spring has finally arrived! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWow, that house looks just cute as a button. I love the decor and I'm glad you had a chance to just put your feet up and enjoy. I'm also glad to see that spring has finally sprung in your neck of the woods. What a welcome sight!!
ReplyDeleteThat house was really nice. Love all the blue and the space! Love your new shades! The planters look great and so does the bike! Thank goodness it’s finally time to plant and we can now enjoy it all!
ReplyDeleteHappy Planting is here. :-) Everything looks so nice. I always love your bikes.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you had a good trip.
Love, Carla
Oh how lovely, Kris!!! There is something fabulous about the instant gratification of buying mature plants instead of watching for months until they bloom like I'm doing!! Mine are just starting to take off, give them another month and there will be flowers everywhere!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a chance to relax - her home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great vacation! No one does flowers like you do, Kris! You have a green thumb and a magic touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet place to spend time in! Welcome back! Glad you had such a good time. Everybody needs to get away once in awhile! Looking forward to seeing your blooms.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely CoTTaGe GetAway!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled the bicycle!
ReplyDeleteahh, love that you had a relaxing trip. The sunglasses are indeed fab and look so cute on your pretty face. I love black mulch for the contrast it gives plants. To me it is a nice clean look. I need to get mine refluffed with a couple of fresh bags. I am having a late start on my planting this year...too much rain as of yet, but we are not supposed to complain as we have been in a drought so many years hence.
ReplyDeleteI just want consistent summer type weather so bad!!! I love your bike, I may show you a picture of mine sometime, however I never seem to get as full of a basket of flowers as do you.
Have a blessed rest of your Memorial day weekend.
Lovely decorated with flowers in your garden,
ReplyDeletelove that little angel!
Hugs, Ida

ReplyDeleteHi Kris! Oooohhhhh that sweet cottage - what I wouldn't give to have a darling place like that near a lake or in the woods. It is adorable - so glad you were able to get away and enjoy yourself a little bit!!! Sorry it was cloudy - but that's better for skin, just keep telling yourself, right?
ReplyDeleteLove your new sassy sunglasses and your stylin' spiky hair. You are such fun.
Your gardens are looking GREAT - and I am looking forward to seeing what project you are working on - will look for your reveal! : - )
