Hello blogging friends.
I wanted to show you more of my flowers now that the rain has finally stopped to get a few pictures.
|
I will start with the backyard and deck. Of course my sweet lounge chair that has followed me to every home. This is where I soak up sun and read in the summer months. |
|
Sweet Karen Harmon (Lisa Harmon's mom that sews slipcovers for furniture) makes the lounge chair covers for me. This is the fabric for this year. |
|
With all the rain this flower box is over flowing and has gotten two times its size in just the one month. The flowers are trailing down nicely. |
|
This sweet angel was gifted to me by a special and dear friend for my birthday. I love how serene and pretty she is. |
|
I decided to go with hanging geraniums this year instead of petunia's. The petunia's are so pretty but they need to be dead headed all the time. I am giving these sun loving hanging geraniums a try. This one sits on my white chippy chair. Again it has gotten double in size due to all the rain that you can hardly see the chair. |
|
You cannot see the heavy round iron plant holder under this big plant of petunia's. The colors this year are vibrant even before I give them bloom booster. |
|
This is another one of my iron flower holders. The flower box flowers are trailing down this piece nicely. These are already a great size and we just started into June. By the end of August these will be trailing down and on the deck. |
|
Here is a look at the deck from the grass. With not having a proper dining area Terry and I enjoy eating out on the deck as much as possible all summer long. |
|
As you can see with my bike basket flowers they have filled up my basket and are almost to the ground already from the basket. |
|
My chippy birdhouse and welcome to the garden sign. |
|
Front porch garden boots. |
|
My flower boxes out front are doing really well too. Doubling in size. |
|
The hosta's are getting bigger and as you can see my poor hydrangea plant in the back is tee tiny right now. They need more sun and less rain. Last year at this time they were covering the ground around them. They are sensitive to weather conditions. |
|
On the other side of the house the hydrangea is doing a little better. Seeing buds. |
|
Junk Chic Cottage 3 is officially up for sale. Hope with the weekend going to be nice we might get some buyers through.
Prayers for a quick sale so we can venture on to find Junk Chic Cottage 4.
Have a good Friday and wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Kris

oh Kris your flowers put everyone to shame, especially me! Don't know how you do it. You must talk really sweet to them! I have 2 hydrangeas out front but they look like they're going pretty slow. It's been rainy and overcast most of the last few months. Praying that you'll get some offers soon. Real estate down this way is really booming. Have a wonderful weekend, your home is just so lovely someone will snap it up quickly! xo
ReplyDeleteEverything looks fantastic, Kris! I pray you get a buyer quickly!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are always so beautiful!!! I can't believe how much they have grown...with all the rain I guess they really took off? Your window boxes and bike in the front garden are stunning. Such a cute cottage!!! Fingers crossed it sells quickly so you can move on to cottage number four :o)

Kris, your flowers are gorgeous!! I love all that color! I'm thinking about planting some hosta this year in the back. We have a shady spot back there and the grass won't grow well. I'm hoping the hosta will and that they will be as beautiful as yours!! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty, bright and cheerful. Your lounge chair cover is a delight. What a sweet way to start the summer:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The size of your flowers is always astounding to me. I hope it sells quickly for you.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow,Kris! I can't believe those flowers. Yours have ALWAYS been beautiful but I think this year you outdid yourself. Gorgeous---everything looks lush and beautiful. I hope the house sells quickly and those flowers ought to just give it an edge to push it over the top. Love it! Hope you have a good night---xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour deck and the flowers are so pretty and so many. The sun and rain have been good to you. Good luck on selling and finding a new home. We have two years and we will be doing the same.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and garden are amazing. Things have really grown. Good luck with the sale.
ReplyDeleteGOOD MORNING!!! First of all, I am just beaming with joy over your garden my friend. I use Million Bells, the small version of petunias, since you don't have to dead head them (and I can't bother doing so!) - your flowers are so HUGE! We've had our share of rain but my flowers are still catching up to yours! And that slipcover fabric...that pink palatte and rose pattern...SWOON!
ReplyDeleteYou and Terry are my kind of people. Once you make up your minds, you get started immediately. I just viewed your FB posting on the house and the right person will come along, I'm guessing, SOON. The way you've kept that house up is admirable, and I love the Hip Roof of the home. WELL DONE!
Your place looks wonderful and buyers will be impressed. Good luck with the sale.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris - your flowers look amazing! So very pretty and a perfect time for you to wow your buyers, with all of that beauty. Good luck with getting a buyer very soon. Your home and garden are truly beautiful. Hugs, Gilly x
ReplyDeleteWow, Kris - gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYour house is going to sell fast, betcha. Best wishes, and now I can focus all my positive energy on you. We're turning over keys either this weekend or Monday!
WOW! Very pretty! Ought to entice some potential buyers for sure.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ~ FlowerLady
Wow, I can't believe how big your flowers are already! Your house looks so inviting and I'm sure it won't be on the market long. Finger's crossed for a quick sale. xo
ReplyDeletethose flowers are gorgeous Kris. They are so large. I wish mine would get a burst.
ReplyDeleteI also have squirrels who love petunias. Good luck with the sale of your house. have a great weekend. xoxo
Your flowers look amazing!! Mine are still so anemic. The weather is just not cooperative this year. Maybe I should add some slipcover flowers to my garden, too. That's something I can't kill...and Mother Nature can't stifle! ;) Hope you have multiple over asking offers this weekend...hugs!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so inviting and serene. Love the new slip cover for your patio lounger. No doubt all the curb appeal with your flower gardens and window boxes will help boost your sale. Good luck and fingers crossed for a quick sale. I sure do hope that your next home can be your forever home. But I have full confidence that what ever lays ahead for you and Terry, you will meet and excel at the challenge.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to dig up some of your plants to move with you? I'd hate to do all that work and leave it. But like me, seems you plant in movable containers too.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I just love the set up you have out back. I wish I was there reading a book.
ReplyDeleteOh Kris! Be still my heart with your plants. I thought mine were looking good in Pennsylvania but they don't look that good. Do you use fertilizer on the plants and if so what brand?
ReplyDeleteHi Betty,
DeleteI use miracle grow once a week and a bloom booster by miracle grow every three weeks. It really makes a difference. I get the bottles that hook into a hose sprayer and it mixes the feed and water perfectly. You can find these at any hardware or garden store or Walmart etc. Hope that helps.
Kris
Your cottage looks so ready to greet the newcombers that come to look! How will anyone be able to resist her! especially also the back deck area. It is so welcoming and wonderful.. and the lounger is inviting everyone in! Your flowers are telling me how much they LOVE lots of water. We live in such a dry climate that even watering once a day isn't enough for our flowers.. .twice is much better, or running the sprinkler for hours! Our water bill doesn't like that though... so we do what we can. I bet you will find buyers very fast! Good luck. Are you exciting to go in search for Cottage #4? It's always an adventure and I've always enjoying the hunt for a new home. xoxoxo Marilyn
