Selling, Buying, Packing and Moving Oh My!!!

Hello Sweet Blogging Friends.

Well things are moving quickly to the new job for Terry and the move into our new
Junk Chic Cottage #4.

Terry will be sworn in on June 24th as the New Fire Chief
and we will close on this house and our new house on July 8th.

We are going to rent back for a week so we can go to the new house and paint, clean and re do the bathroom to get it ready to move in.

Terry is also building me a new pantry for the kitchen.

We would like to have all of this done before we move in officially.

This sweet guy is very confused and wondering why furniture is disappearing and all the decor has come down off the walls.

To be nice to the new buyer we decided to touch up all the walls after taking down the decor.

This way she can move in and not have to paint a thing.

I have been getting all chippy decor I want to take to the new house down and getting it ready to move.
I have sold a lot of my pieces I know I cannot use in the new house.

Who ever invented this green bubble wrap that adheres to each other is genius.
When you wrap up fragile's it clings automatically to the bubble wrap.
The item does not unwrap.
The white bubble wrap does not do this.
I am glad I found this green bubble wrap.

My hydrangea plant on the one side out front is finally blooming.
They have been slow to open up with all the rain and lack of sunshine.

This is the one on the other side.
It is getting a few buds but at this time last year this plant was three times it size now and full beautiful blooms.
I really think this cooler weather and so much rain has hindered their growth.

On the other hand my annuals are going crazy with all the rain.
My bike basket is almost down to the ground and so full.
These usually are not this big until the middle of July.
They are loving all the rain apparently.

My knockout rose bushes are going gang busters with the prettiest roses this year.
Every day they seem to open more and more buds.

This is one of my deck boxes.  It is thriving too.

I am taking the two of these to the new house to hang out front as window boxes on the new house.

My hanging geraniums are doing great.  I will be moving those to the new house too.

I told the buyer anything that is not in the ground is being moved.

I love my flowers too much to leave them all here.

I have my garden angel praying with me that I can make it through the packing, closing and moving and small renovations at the new house!!!!

I may be MIA for awhile in Blog Land with needing time to pack up JCC#3 and move on to JCC#4.
I promise I will show you before and afters as I put my touch on the new JCC#4 in the coming weeks.

Prayers I survive the purging, packing and moving once again.
Hugs,
Kris

  4. Dachshunds do not like change! But he will do fine as long as his mama and daddy are there. You are being so thoughtful of the new owner to touch up the paint where you take things down. And they are very lucky to have all the improvements you two have made to your sweet house. I'm sure they will be happy there. Take care, dear Kris!

  6. As always your blooms are stunning! I don't blame you one bit for not leaving any behind that are not in the ground. You are so kind to touch up the walls for the new owner with everything you have going on. I'm sure she will really appreciate it?!?!?! Good luck with your new adventure!!!

  7. Holy crapazoides you two are surely the energizer bunnies! Where the heck have I been! Terry got a new job, you sold you JCC #3 in two days and bought JCC#4 while I was sleeping last week and now your packing your stuff while painting for the woman who bought it! Seriously can I buy the next house you sell so I won’t have to do anything before moving in? I’m happy Terry has a new job and wish him all the luck with it! Your new cottage is adorable and smaller homes are the best! Hope this garage goes easier than JCC3 went. I better not stay away this time because I don’t know if I could handle all the news in one setting!!! Take care both of yourselves! P.S. send me the name of your vitamin pills I could use them!

  9. How exciting. Cannot wait to see your new home. I told Hubby that when we sold this house I was digging up three plants and I would tell the realtor also. They were given to me by Our Son and My Hubby and they are so pretty. Lucky for me they are small plants or can be cut down to move.

  15. Wow...things are certainly happening fast! And what in the world are you feeding those flowers of yours? Do you do anything special and do you "dead-head" all those blooms when they die off? I can buy a pretty basket but can never seem to maintain one to keep it looking so full and gorgeous. Isn't it funny how our doggies know when something is amiss...mine don't like it one bit when I'm even working on a project! Looking forward to catching up after the move!

  18. You'll do fine. You're a pro by now! Nice of you to touch up the walls. I've never heard of that green bubble wrap. Maybe it was created after my last move, over five years ago. Or maybe I just missed it somehow. I'll be thinking about you!

  21. Oh Kris...I am exhausted just reading about all the hard work you guys are doing! I will be keeping you and Terry in my prayers that all goes smoothly and that sleep comes well and heavy for you at night. xoxo

  22. Oh, Kris. I'm standing with Buddy! I'm so sorry that you are having to do all of this, but the excitement must be unbelievable. Terry's job and the new house must be at the top of that list but having to leave your beautiful garden and all the work involved with the move would be something you don't want to do. But, you have left beautiful gardens before and the next one is always just a little better. I'm glad you can take your hanging baskets, OMG they are so beautiful. Can't wait to see how you make it your own and I know it will all be worth every minute..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy

  25. well Kris, we're pretty much pros at this by now, huh? Just not something we really enjoy! Your plants are totally amazing and I'm so glad you will be able to take most of them with you. That bike is just so cute! We're all praying for you guys for an easy move and transition. Can't wait to see how things are coming along on JCC#4!

  26. Oh so much to do and so little time! I don't envy you at all, but moving to a new place I always looked at with excitement and as a new adventure! It's just ALOT of work! I hope you have some help with the moving and UNpacking! Poor Buddy does look a little worried. Our cats get that way and I have to keep reassuring them it's OK.. they are coming too! Are you taking any plants or shrubs that are IN the ground, like the hydrangeas?? those take so much work to get started, it seems, in new areas or spots. And yours is finally doing something! Glad you'll have that extra time at the new cottage to do some of your magic there! Hugs... Marilyn

  27. I am in absolute AWE at your ability to do this packing, moving, unpacking over and over and...I told my family this last move will do me until I move to the 5.5 foot box. I am DONE with moving! lol Kris, I wish you and yours well, especially Buddy. He looks an old guy and needs his stability.
God bless you, yours and the work of your hands and heart.

  29. I get what you're going through, Kris. However, you know exactly what needs to be done, you're organized, and you will get through it with style and grace, as you always do. Congratulations to Terry on this new job, and how sweet and typical of him that he is already working on your pantry for the new cottage. God bless you two, and your sweet fur baby, too. Hugs, Nancy

  43. You should write a book about buying and selling and moving! You are a total pro at this point. I have to say, you're also a pro gardener, by the looks of your flowers. I know you get them at your favorite nursery each year, but wow! Do you feed them? My plants are still scrawny this year, too much rain and not enough sun, but I think they may need food. Hmmm....

  44. You've got a lot on your plate, Kris, and I wish you all the best in packing up and moving in! Your flowers never cease to amaze me! I'm glad you are taking them with you! I need to find that green bubble wrap. You seem to teach me something new all the time.

  45. What an adventure. Since I just moved the end of March, I remember the madness only too well. It will be worth it though. Can't wait to see the new place.

  46. Moving is not easy, both emotionally and physically. I don't envy you as we just made a move 2 years ago. I wish you the best with this move. Remember to take time for you. Rest when you can and let someone else take care of dinner. It will do you good to get away from the stress of moving for at least an hour. Moving is both exciting and terrorizing. Looking forward to see all you have planned for the new cottage. Aesthetically the new college is adorable.
