Hello Sweet Blogging Friends.
I cannot believe it is already Labor Day Weekend.
Yikes where did the summer go?!
Here is the living room reveal finally.
|
Before Picture of Living Room. Dark greenish blue walls and dark trim and moldings. |
|
Before Picture of Living Room Space |
|
We painted those darker green/blue walls in Pixel White from Behr. It really brightened up this front room and made it feel bigger. |
|
After Living Room Space. |
|
The back of the front door painted in the Pixel White like the walls. |
|
This corner has my old Farm house window attached to the window of the Living room. |
|
My friend gave this chippy framed saying from Mother Teresa that I love. |
|
We had to find Terry a new recliner since the bigger one did not fit in this space. Found this Walter E. Smithe recliner on Offer Up. A little darker than I would have liked but it is very comfy for Terry. |
|
I wish this window area could be open like this. If I do this then there is no place for Terry's recliner. :( |
|
This is the old iron bed frame that we hung on the wall for a focal point. |
|
On my coffee table I have this sweet little vignette. |
|
In this corner I have a cute bird cage on an old porch post. |
|
The beautiful angel is from a very sweet blogging friend. This is very special angel for me. |
|
My sweet birdhouse found a place over the TV armoire. |
|
Framed it out with some old salvage pieces I had. |
|
My yellow front door looks so pretty and cute for this cottage.
So there you have it. The new JCC#4 living room area.
Next up is the new kitchen so stay tuned.
Have a great holiday weekend. Be safe and enjoy the extra long weekend.
We are heading to Michigan on Saturday for the Found Cottage Mercantile Market.
I cannot wait to go and see what fun treasures I can find.
Terry and Buddy and I will head out early Saturday morning.
|
|
Apparently Buddy thinks he would like to drive to Michigan. Nope! He will be in his doggie seat! Happy Weekend. Kris |
|
PS: This sweet cottage home needs a white picket fence in the front. We will be working on that this weekend too. Hope to show you that soon.
Ok, I am really closing this post now!!! Hugs, Kris |

Love it. This looks so much more spacious and plenty of room for company. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!!! I had to go back and look at the pics twice to make sure I didn't miss a single thing!!! Buddy looks so cute driving too! LOL

Kris, Buddy knows he doesn't have a driver's licenses. LOL I love how wonderfully the living room turned out. All the cute signs and flowers just add the perfect touches. Love that yellow door. Have a safe fun time in Michigan. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThe room is as pretty as can be, Kris. You and Terry, and Buddy must love relaxing in the evenings all together in such a sweet space. I love the outside picture, as well. It's a darling little dwelling. Your picket fence idea will make it all look like a cottage from a fairytale. I'm smitten!! xo
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Add a white pillow and throw to that recliner and will be PERFECT!!! I know you have those lying around. LOL!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAh......the JunkChic strikes again. Simply lovely, just put a throw on that chair to calm it down and it will all be perfect. We are in the midst of the 'recliner' fight right now---! I saw some smaller lovely ones at Kildeer-Tuesday Morning. Pale Gray doesn't work in my home, but I am going in every week, hoping one shows up in my color range! Hugs, it's lovely and I love the ironwork you have brought in---texture, texture--texture!
ReplyDeleteYou made the living room so pretty, Kris! And I can't wait to see your fence...that is something we are thinking of doing at the lakehouse, too!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris, I just love how pretty the living room looks! I like the wall color and how you added in touches of blue. Your Buddy is just the cutest driving the car! I know you are both enjoying him so much and he looks so happy! Have a great time this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julie xo
Lovely and so happy that you are settling in so well Kris. Buddy has that look on his face - he IS driving. Love dogs and their opinions.
ReplyDeleteJoy
Oh Kris it looks wonderful!!! So cozy, and I am seriously drooling over those curtains!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris I'm loving the curtains in the new living room. The fabric is gorgeous and looks great with your whites. Everything is moving along.
ReplyDeleteBuddy driving gave me a huge smile. Hope the three of you enjoy your trip Saturday.
Hugs
Cindy
Oh, Kris. I love this little cottage as much as I did the others. The blue is the perfect accent and the new chair for Terry is great with it all. Everything looks like it found a place and all looks so right and at home. A beautiful, comfortable Cottage home..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Kris. Hope you have a fun trip. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of Buddy!! I also love the touches of blue in your living room. It all looks so fresh and bright now. You must be thrilled. Have a happy long weekend Kris! xox
ReplyDeletewow! so lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour new living room looks great! Love the touches of blue and very cool how you put that farmhouse window over the existing window.I hope you guys have a fabulous weekend trip to MI. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good, Kris. My hubby needs a new recliner that doesn't look like one and that one you got looks nice. Hope you have a nice long weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing transformation! I love it all, Kris. Everything is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me and for your kind words. I've missed you all so much.
Blessings to TALENTED YOU! <3
Rebecca
Fantastic transformation. Love how you hang the bed frame on the wall. So beautiful
ReplyDeleteBente
KRIS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou did it. You worked your magic on this living room and it's ready to go....and there's someone else ready to go....BUDDY! LOL oh my goodness that guy is going to drive you all to Michigan! Have a magnificent time and get that picket fence up!
Well done! I like how you incorporated some of your accents and the overall affect is light and airy. That bed frame idea is very original and I love that that picture fit right in there. The white picket fence will really make it feel like a cottage. Love that yummy yellow front door! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBuddy is ready to go. He looks extremely competent. I agree about putting a throw on Terry's chair to tone down the brown and you are good to go.
ReplyDeleteKris, everything looks lovely. You have transformed once again a beautiful space. Love the floral curtains. The old iron headboard looks fabulous in the living room as a focal point. Have a happy weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I love every bit.
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteAs usual you've outdone yourself! I absolutely LOVE what your touches! You've been a busy girl I know how exhausting that can be! Have a wonderfully relaxing trip this weekend and enjoy the eye candy!!
As I have mentioned before, this is my favorite of all your cottages. I love what you've accomplished, and the whimsical ideas for the walls and windows. Yes! Needs a white picket fence. Buddy is so adorable and accommodating.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Cute, light and airy!! I like the sofa and love seat. What happened to the sectional at former house?
ReplyDeleteWow, absolutely beautiful, everything. The picket fence will add a real charming touch to this sweet cottage. Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely retreat! You two really are a great team. Have fun this weekend in Michigan, I'll be thinking of you! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteKris, you guys have managed to really use that space optimally. It lives big with how placed the furniture, good moves. Love your signature whites and the added floral. Buddy needs a break. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the color scheme! and your new home is so charming! Just wondering, do you really need the love seat and the sofa? If the love seat is gone, Terry's chair can move over and the space would appear much larger.... If you don't entertain guests often and don't need the extra seating, this would give you the open area under the windows you wanted. Plus you can always use your ottoman as extra seating if needed..... just a thought
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so fresh and welcoming. Love all that you have done with this room. But especially like the old iron bed on the wall, such a clever repurpose.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Michigan. I have been wondering if you were going to be able to attend Liz Marie's books signing. I am not sure of the date, as of course it isn't something I would be able to attend.
Safe travels on this holiday weekend.
BTW, I am quite envious of you cute cottage "round" coffee table. I want a round table for my space and I have yet to find one just the right dimensions. They are either to big or not tall enough. I have tried a few other shapes and am not happy, so now I am holding out for just the right one to find me!!
ReplyDeleteThis little house is probably my favorite of all your homes Kris, particularly the outside. Once that fence goes in it will be storybook ready for sure.
ReplyDeleteBuddy is SO FREAKIN’ CUTE! Have a wonderful trip ❤️
OMGOSH, Kris, I knew it would be darling but this is even better than I imagined. It is darling-just looks so much different than it did before and SO much BIGGER. Great job all the way around. Have fun at the Market. Hope you find a couple of little treasures!
ReplyDeleteSo, if I had a choice between riding with Buddy driving and riding with John driving I would pick Buddy. lol xo Diana
Kris - you have done it once again! What a fantastic transformation and I can honestly say that I love everything in it, and about it. Your inspirational talent shines through. Yes, I agree that the space where Terry's recliner is, would indeed look wonderful empty! However, Terry does need to have his chair there.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of Buddy, all set to drive away. Have a wonderful time - can't wait to see what treasures you manage to find. Hugs, Gilly x
Oh yes, it totally needs a white picket fence! Your living room looks lovely, Kris and I'm swooning over the pretty drapes. Happy treasure hunting today and have a wonderful long weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteyour new cottage is looking great.love the small touches of blue wish i could use more white however with 3cats and 1 dog[a big one] and my messy hubby no way.[i go with prim can't see the icks] also iwould like to say i am surprised to see cottleston pie as a fve of your you do not seem to be the kind who would won't the foul mouth they seem to have.
ReplyDeleteKris, you did it again! Worked your magic to create such a lovely charming room. And Terry's recliner looks very nice with those beautiful blue and white curtains behind it.
ReplyDeleteWherever did you find Buddy's harness? It's so hard to find something that works well on a dachshund frame. He is so cute sitting there! I want to gobble him up!
Your living room looks so charming.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and definitely says YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I like how it is all coming together.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Buddy wanting to drive. What a cute fella.
;-)
Kris, it's soooooo pretty and peaceful. What a contrast between before and after! The bed frame behind the couch is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteKris, you have been busy! Your living room looks so beautiful and happy now. I love the old farmhouse window you installed and the bed frame accent. It's not very often I wish I could climb right into a photo, but I would love to climb in, magically be in your living room, and see everything close up. Can't wait to see how the picket fence turns out!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I love it. I'm so glad you have room for a sofa and a love seat (and a recliner). :) I love the bedframe on the wall. I'm so envious that you got to the Found Cottage Mercantile. Fun.
