This weekend I was trying to open a few of your blog posts that came into my email.
I have Xfinity for my server and email.
I am finding that blogs that do not have the https// in front of the www. are considered to not be a secure blog spot.
Xfinity then in turn will not let me open your site from my email or even in Google.
There is an easy way to fix this and to have your site secure.
All you have to do is go into your blog and open your basic settings.
When you see this page below scroll down to HTTPS and where it says HTTP redirect click on yes.
Hopefully then your site will come up as secure to others.

This worked for me to make mine secure. am no computer wiz or expert when it comes to this stuff. I just want to share what worked for me to become secure.
I do not want to miss anything you guys are blogging about so hope this helps you to check your site and make the site secure.
Have a great start to the new week.
Hugs,
Kris
Hey Kris, can I share my experience with this? It's easy for a blogspot.com blog to get this security designation, but for some of us on Blogger that have a dot com blog from another domain (like Go-Daddy) are finding it is extremely difficult to get it all figured out. I went through this and finally got a Google tech to do it for me. So you may be seeing people that don't have a Blogspot designation. If they do, it's super simple like you walked them through. If not I suggest they go to Google and ask for help or get a monthly subscription for tech help. It was a real process for sure, but I finally got it done. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you! have a nice week hugs Nina
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! I haven't been blogging much these days so I haven't been near my blog, but I better check this out just in case. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
ReplyDeletewould you be so sweet and see if you can see my blog with a problem.
Hugs,
Karen B. x
Oh and thank you for this. I am sure that other like me were not really aware of this.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
A blog friend told me about this back when they first asked for us to change it and I remember easily doing it the way you've showed above. But like you I'm sometimes having problems now viewing a few other blogs. But Debra's comment above makes sense and that probably is the problem.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being the kind of blogger who wants to help the rest of us!
I've seen a lot of this too, Kris. I think Google was letting it slide for awhile...a grace period of sorts, but now they are setting up alerts like the one you're getting from your email company. I have a custom domain and I was able to do it myself from the dashboard, too, and it worked, but it looks like that might not be the case for everyone.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an easy fix for those who haven't done it.
ReplyDeleteGood idea. I think mine is secure but I will double check.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I just went and changed mine so hopefully it is secure now?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

I hit the button Kris and nothing happened. Maybe because I'm Wordpress?

Okay, I hit "yes"....thank you, Kris. Smooches. Debbie xo
ReplyDeleteHi Kris. I checked my settings and I am already on "yes" so guess I'm OK..Thanks for letting us know this..Happy Monday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteNow I cannot use your email address??!! what???? Debbie
ReplyDeleteMy setting was on "yes" also.. so glad for that! I don't remember doing it but guess at some point I did! Thanks for the heads up! Hope you will have a nice week. We're having rain and clouds here so guess Fall is here now... I got myself some Vanilla Chai tea at the store today, and adding some pumpkin spice Almond Milk to it as needed a "Fall" drink of tea! (some homemade sugars cookies don't hurt either!). xoxoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteSince you left a comment on my blog, I am assuming mine is ok....going to check it tho. Thanks for the headsup on this.
ReplyDeleteMine had NO in the box but you were able to see my blog anyway. I went ahead and put YES in the box so will see what that does. Would you kindly check my blog and see if you still open it?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the help!

Hi Kris, I read this blog post. I received your email yesterday about my blog. I made the changes to my blog a while ago when Linda from the blog Life and Linda helped me change it. When you go to google and google chrome it is secure. I do hope that you get your situation cleared up.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend. Julie
Kris,
ReplyDeleteI changed this some time ago after getting a few emails about it from Blogger....Thanks for sharing!!
Hugs,
Debbie
