Happy Monday and Happy New Week.
Fall is finally starting here in Illinois and my summer flowers have given up.
New fall decor is moving in.
|
My sweet fall angel hangs on the front door. |
|
Terry hung up my white flower boxes. Oh how I am itching to paint those steps!!! |
|
A new birdhouse has joined in the decor out front. |
|
The leaves on the bushes are starting to change color. |
|
My pumpkin is ready for the trick or treaters. |
|
My new white flower boxes are stuffed with greens and mums and cabbage and pumpkins and gourds. |
|
This little garage is going to be taken down on Thursday and Friday this week. Yep! the permits are out of the city and the garage company is finally putting us on the schedule. |
|
The stuff from the garage will be under tarps for a few weeks while the garage comes down and the new one is built. Our backyard looks like we could be in an episode of Hoarders!!!! |
|
We had to re route Buddy's backyard location. We need him captured with the temporary fence and away from the action of the garage goings on!
As you can see all the beds in the backyard were cleaned out of all the over growth and weeds. You can actually see the fence back there now. Next Spring I will be excited to plant new perennials and annuals in these beds.
Here we go! Demolition and building Noises galore. Poor Buddy does not like loud noises so this is going to be tough on him. We may have to have some bye bye rides in the car!
Have a great new week ahead. Hugs, Kris |
Busy, busy, busy! You two don't waste anytime making your vision a reality. So happy to see you settling into your charming new cottage, Kris. Enjoy every minute! Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how quickly you guys manage to turn a house into a home! Reading this post has me wanting to add window boxes to the front of my house ASAP. Hope you are doing well, my friend. Miss you and need to catch up. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh the front of your house looks so pretty. I love the pumpkins and cabbages. Good luck with the garage and the demolition this week. Give poor Buddy and hug from me and Bosco!
ReplyDeleteSounds like exciting things are taking shape.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy to see all of your fun decorations. You certainly do take the bull by the horns and make that little cottage so you. I love sharing your updates.
ReplyDeleteThe outside of your house looks so pretty! Where did you get those flower boxes? And may I ask, how did Terry hang them on your siding? I would love flower window boxes hung below my living room window, but we still have aluminum siding. Brian says he doesn't think we can hang window boxes on this siding, but he's not a DIYer, so I have my doubts on his theory. ha ha Glad they are finally getting moving on your garage!
ReplyDeleteYou two, never miss a beat....charging ahead with everything! Love the boxes, and simply very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis will be great. Terry will love his mancave. Your window boxes are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIzzy hides whenever I get my tools out. Poor babies! Love your plans and your little cottage is so adorable. I'm so happy for you. Have a happy week! xoxox
ReplyDeleteGood luck this week. Praying for great weather and all to go well. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your fun car rides with Buddy.
The window boxes look fantastic.
Carla
Your home is so charming. It has a story book look. I am curious, since this is Cottage # 4. Do you have a favorite home or is the one you love the most the one that you currently live in ?
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
DeleteI think this is going to be my fave house of all of them. It is cute and the neighborhood is so sweet. We are in a great area too. Thanks for asking.
Hugs,
Kris
Your window boxes are so pretty....I love the addition of the pumpkins. The addition of the bird house to your garden is absolutely perfect. I LOVE your pumpkin on the chair for trick or treaters too. Everything is just beautiful as always.....
ReplyDeleteSo glad demo is in your future...how exciting!!!

Once you get this done, the rest is going to get such a makeover, I just know it! So far what you've done Kris and Terry, it's been amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think Nancy said it best in the first comment....you guys don't waste one minute making your vision a reality! It's going to be great. The front looks really good!
ReplyDeleteAh Kris! It all looks very beautiful - you must be so very pleased. Having followed all of your Junk Chic Cottages, I also think that this one is going to be my favourite. Good luck with all of the clearing and then the building work - it will all be worth it in the end. I am sure that Buddy will enjoy his increased outings, to enable him to cope with the noise and upheaval. Hugs, Gilly x
ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
ReplyDeleteWay behind, John started with a horrible cold and now yours truly is suffering from a horrible cold. I swear it's the devil.
You flower boxes cheered me up this morning. Poor Buddy, Reeses and Peanut say hang in there they don't like the loud noises either.
Cindy
Poor Buddy. I don't like loud noises either. Too bad he can't hang out here with me where it's quiet. Your cottage out front is just adorable! I bet the neighbors are thinking: "Wow, we've got great new neighbors!" I like the black fence in the back. Is it just temporary?
ReplyDeleteBrenda
The Fall window boxes and new birdhouse are so cute, Kris! Love that pumpkin on the chair, too! Yes, you are ready for the season. Your darling angel completes the look. Have a great week!

Your planters look great! Your going to love the new garage and it’ll be done before snow flies!
ReplyDeleteThe front of your cottage just gets prettier and prettier! I have to agree that this house such a storybook look to it, it's charming. And how exciting to be ready to start the garage! Hopefully it will be ready or almost ready before cold weather sets in there. Poor Buddy, dachshunds just do not like change, do they? Our BreeBree doesn't. Both his ears and your ears may need some bye bye rides before it's over!
ReplyDeleteOh Kris you guys DO sure get things done and planned fast! It's just amazing how fast you've done the upgrades and fixes to your sweet little cottage. I didn't know you were going to demolish this garage. Wish we could move it to our property here in Oregon! We need another little building for our stuff! hee hee...... The window boxes are so pretty and I bet Mr. JCC built them! Hope the weather holds for you. xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeletewow! I love your fall decor..
ReplyDeleteYour house is so charming, I love all your fall friends outside. And yay!! The permits!! I hope it's sunny for the next two weeks straight and they get it all done quick so Buddy can relax! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLooking good, Kris! I know you are going to be thrilled with that new garage-well worth the wait when it is all over with.
ReplyDeleteThe front looks great-window boxes and everything else.
Have a great day. xo Diana
those windowboxes are adorable! Love the pumpkin among the other foliage. the pumpkin on that perfectly chippy chair is wonderful. Have fun during the building time, can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteYour sweet house looks so good! Love the flower boxes filled with your magic touch
ReplyDeleteKnow you are ready for the new garage. Hang in there!
wow..how exciting re the new garage..know it will be great.. Glad you are so careful about taking good care of your baby, Buddy. Know how loud noises frighten my babies, and we have a crazy near the neighborhood shooting...had to go before County Council this week with neighbors to ask for help..as they are shooting within some old laws that need change..whew..Love living in Country..but no matter where these days..there are lots of nuts.....lol ... anyhew...Your Fall windowboxes look so nice and your door, too. I know one thing leads to another..as far as wanting to paint steps.. Have a Blessed Harvest Season. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage.....
ReplyDeleteThe house is looking terrific, Kris! The flower boxes are charming, as is the new birdhouse. Good luck with the garage reno - I hope Buddy doesn't get too upset!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the build. Prayers that "winter" will not invade you Fall as it seems to be in much of the norther areas of our country.
ReplyDeleteLove your fall flowers and the window boxes.
Kris,
ReplyDeleteLove those flower boxes!! Wish we could add them to our house but since we do not have central air and have to put the air conditioners in the windows, it would not look so good.... We have actually had a beautiful Fall here...One of the best!! If is strange that we did not go from 80 degrees to 30 degrees like it seems to have happened for the past few years....
Hugs,
Deb
