Hi Sweet friends.
Happy Saturday.
I said I would show you the treasure I found in Michigan last weekend.
It did start a switch a roo on the living room wall once again!!!!
|
I found this old fireplace surround. All chippy and beautiful. I also found this vintage fireplace insert on FB Market place. They fit perfectly together. |
|
Of course this was all rusty and chippy and I added some white paint to bring out the detail of this piece and it also fits in the surround much better. Down inside this I plan on putting some candles and greens for Christmas. |
|
On the fireplace mantel I found an old light fixture I made into a candle holder. Looks so pretty with the candles burning at night which happens for us at 5pm now ugh! |
|
I found this beautiful piece of art work on Etsy by a very talented artist. I bought this piece to place on the top of the mirror over the fireplace. It has been shipped and I cannot wait to receive it. |
|
I found this pretty planter on Etsy too. I plan on using this for Christmas. I love to support small business. |
We finally have the garage up. Yay!
We still are waiting on the electrician to do the final part of this garage build.
Then we should have a full functioning garage.
|
I found some vintage looking white lantern lights for the garage this past weekend too. As soon as the electrician can come they will be installed too.
The new windows are all installed on the house and what a difference that makes with how cold it has been.
Finally all the big projects are done on this house. Now we can move into the cold winter and holidays with all the building finished.
Have a great weekend. Hugs, Kris |
OH MY STARS. You nailed it. This is the ultimate. These two pieces Kris, I would have thought they came together, but you DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this fits perfectly and gives the cottage feel. Now both chairs are the perfect small cottage choice as they are hugged by this center piece. YOU are going to have a blast decorating for all seasons in this space!!! WONDERFUL WONDERFUL!!!!

ReplyDeleteThat is the most gorgeous fireplace and insert and candle holder and lights and... and ....and. It is incredible. You surely have the knack for finding good pieces and the know-how to put them together.
ReplyDeleteKris, it is all fitting together perfectly. That mantle and the insert look like they have been there forever. I love it all..Thanks for your visit and Happy Weekend..xxoJudy

ReplyDeleteKris.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fireplace!! I adore how you decorated around it and the chairs...So cozy looking!! Glad that you got all the building projects that you wanted to do before the Winter comes in even though it seems like it is already here. 19 degrees here this morning!! I hope to do new windows ion the Spring...I have put it off for a year because of my knee surgery.....
Stay warm, my friend!!!
Hugs,
Deb
Kris, The insert looks like it belongs with that surround. I really like how it looks like it was always there on that wall. Can't wait to see the outside lights. The new garage, I bet you are happy about parking inside on the cold days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWow Kris! Absolutely GORGEOUS! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE EVERYTHING especially the fireplace surround and insert!

ReplyDeleteGosh! I Love love love all of it! It looks amazing Kris - you must be SO happy with it all. When you decorate it for Christmas - it will look just so perfect. Neill has got 'garage envy' - I just showed him the photo. Hugs, Gilly x
ReplyDeleteWow, the fireplace and insert and the way you've decorated it looks so beautiful, especially flanked with the two leather chairs. It is absolutely perfect! You must be glad to have the garage just in time for the white stuff to arrive.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty there between the chairs. That garage sure went up fast!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
What a pretty insert for the fireplace! That will look so pretty with how you plan on decorating it for Christmas. Hooray for the house projects finally being finished!
ReplyDeleteThis may be my most favorite thing you've created - looks great with the new leather chairs, too! Barbara in MN
ReplyDeleteMore lovely additions to your home. Congrats on having your new garage just about finished and having new windows to keep out the winter cold.
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn ~ FlowerLady
Have missed keeping up with your wonderful makeover. Have to say, that fireplace is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like you scored again! How nice that you got new windows and the garage is finished (well almost)! This winter weather sure started early!
ReplyDeleteLove that fireplace mantel and insert...what great finds! Lovely garage too!
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again! The fireplace mantle and insert are just perfect. New windows can certainly make a difference, cant they? I noticed such a difference in the noise level with new windows. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe garage looks great! I LOVE the insert, and fireplace surround, Kris! It all looks amazing with the mirror, and lamps. You must feel so cozy in the evenings with the candles lit, sitting in your chairs next to your fireplace. So, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! xo
Wow love it all Kris! That mantel and insert are just stunning.. and I love the antique-i-ness of the insert... so pretty in white of course. I have mantel envy.. as we had our bricks torn out and our wood stove insert put in, but nothing is there to surround it and no mantel. I'm so bummed. We can't do it ourselves and can't afford to have anyone do it! It's so ugly! Love the candles on top and I can just see it all decorated up for the holidays. And that garage.. oh so nice to have with the cold snap that is heading your way! Have a great week! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteYour garage! How exciting! Finding that surround and insert that fit is crazy amazing! How fun is that? Looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteKris - you sure have vision. And I cannot even believe the mantle/surround and the insert didn't come together! That is true serendipity! Made for one another! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGrats on the garage.
Hope you have a lovely week.
Kris, I cannot believe how quickly you guys have transformed this home! Seems like you haven't been living there that long but everything looks so great. I have home projects that have been waiting for years and years and years! I wish I had your gusto! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWow Kris, you are so gifted with an eye for decorating and turning not so pretty into BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are at 7 degrees tonight!! CRAZY CRAZY weather, that is all I can say.
That looks fantastic, Kris!! I would be burning candles in that fireplace every evening! I put new windows in my house the first autumn also, and what a difference they make for keeping things toasty warm! The new garage looks wonderful, I'm sure you are both delighted to have those big projects done!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I can't believe how perfectly the two pieces fit together! Like they were made for each other! I love how you've decorated it all - those learher chairs look so comfy and inviting! Stunning angel pieces you purchased too! You've done it again, my friend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOH Kris...the fireplace is so perfect! Looks like it has always been there! This all looks beautiful! Great job!
