Hello Blogging Friends.
Our weekend escape to Michigan was fabulous. No snow only color and a little chilly so it was all good.
Thought I would show you a few pics of where we stayed and a few of the shops including Found Cottage's Holiday Open House.
This is the main house on the property. It is a two bedroom little lake cottage just as cute as can be. |
This is the back of this lake cottage. Two sweet decks to hang out. |
Really cute living room. If I owned this home I would not change a thing. |
Dining area. |
Cute Kitchen. We chose to stay in the guest house next to this main house. With it just being Terry and I we did not need this two bedroom. |
This is the guest cottage on the property where we stayed. |
Big comfy King size bed. Perfect for just two people. |
Nice little kitchenette area. |
A nice little screened in porch. We did not enjoy this porch as it was pretty chilly outside this past weekend. I bet it is nice in the summer months. |
A nice little fenced in area. These two homes are in a cute neighborhood and just a few blocks form Lake Michigan. Really cute downtown area and a great ice cream place called Oink's. |
Most of our drive was little back roads through Indiana and Michigan. Just pretty winding roads with lots of tree's changing. No Snow which was good. |
One of the shops we stopped at in Indiana is called Barn Styles. |
Pretty trees galore on their property. |
Sweet little entry way into the barn. |
We visited 4 shops in Indiana on our back roads trip. |
The Found Cottage had their Holiday Open House. Lots of pretty decor and items. |
Loved these Christmas trees made out of old doors. They had really big tall ones up front. I did not remember to take a picture of those :( |
One of the many trees all decked out for the holiday shoppers. |
Looks like a super fun trip and what a gorgeous place to stay.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, I am so happy you got away with Terry and no snow! Looks like such a pretty cottage and fun places to look and buy special items. I love looking at those types of places too. Hope you have a great week. Julie xo
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are fantastic. The leaves were a nice treat and no snow.
Can't wait to see your find.
I'm nursing Peanut right now. She pulled a muscle. Watching her is so sad.

I love that property and both houses! So charming. Can't wait to see what you brought home from The Found Cottage. Glad you had a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great time on your little getaway. The little cottages are so charming!!! Everything is still so green there unlike it is here. Can't wait to see the new treasure in your living room.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!!

Kris, I know where New Buffalo , Mi. is, my daughter took me there two years ago for a weekend get away. I loved that town. So many beautiful homes and nice businesses. We ate at the Dog place..can not remember the full name. LOL. Getting old . Hey now, door queen, I can not see you cutting up a door to make a tree. LOL So many nice things. Love the wreath of shoe forms. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSo cute! It looks like they're actually getting a fall season. Us Illinoisians went right to winter. I am surprised you didn't steal that chippy grandfather clock in the little kitchenette. I love that town and St. Joseph's. A nice escape that's close to home.
ReplyDeleteLOL I thought about stealing that clock it was so perfect for me. Just did not have a spare wall to put it on. Have a great week.
DeleteHugs,
Kris
What a wonderful escape, Kris! I would have had trouble leaving a lot of that decor in that shop behind....can't wait to see what you bought!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. Here we go again. Can't wait to see what you found this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed your mini vacay ~ it looks like a very peaceful place. And those stores ~ bet you spent hours in them!!
ReplyDeleteCuddles to Buddy ~
I would love to visit The Found Cottage! You guys have so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! What a charming stay you had at the cottage. My hubs and I have never done anything like that - it sounds like such fun. And I am with you - I wouldn't change a thing of that sweet cottage decor.
ReplyDeleteGlad it didn't snow for ya. I am originally from Michigan (born there) and it is usually so much colder this time of year.
We had a few flakey flurries on Halloween that didn't amount to anything, but it is official - lots of color now on those trees.
Thanks for your visit - can't wait to see the treasure you scored on your travels.
Hugs. ♥
hahahaha. I cannot believe that you found something that would start a switcheroo in your living room again. LOL Lordy, I love you!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you and Terry could escape the city for a bit and enjoy some time away by yourselves. I know it is so easy to get caught up in everyday living that it is good to just 'run away' once in a while. ope y9ou have a great night- xo Diana
I am so happy you had a lovely trip, with no snow. The place you found to stay for your get away looks just lovely. I would enjoy living in that two bedroom home and having a guest house for my kids when they come to visit, I like your idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun week with the projects on tap and give Buddy a sweet hug from me.

ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Those little cottages are adorable. We barely had the leaves turning here before we had a frost. Weird weather. I could live in either one of those places. Love the blue and white throughout!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

ReplyDeleteLovely! You're so lucky that you live so close to her shop. I bet there's new stuff there every time you go. I think I could get myself into big trouble there. Is it pricey?
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute! will love to stay there.

ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect weekend and place! Now Kris, don't you lie to us and say you wouldn't change a thing in that 2Br cottage. We know you better than that, lol!
ReplyDeleteWell that looks like a nice trip you had. Aren’t country roads the best! The cottages are adorable. The little shop you visited looked like it had something to offer for everyone! Now what did you buy.....😉
ReplyDeleteI love every bit of all of this! 😄❤️
ReplyDeleteNice photos from your trip. The cottages were cute!
ReplyDeleteLoved this trip....thanks for sharing...such beauty inside and out..can't wait to see your new find. :0) . Happy Fall.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! We wound around back country toads on a detour last week on the way to our daughters. Beautiful color!! Sounds like a wonderful time. Can't wait to see your new treasure. 😁
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the exact same thing as Rita! LOL I guess your readers are on to you ;).
ReplyDeleteEvery time you post pics of Michigan you convince me more and more we need to get our butts up there. So pretty!
If You were in England You would have been considered "Glamping" - It seems that was quite popular a couple of years ago (Idk about now.) Love the screened in porch - The shoe forms "wreath" is quite clever and neat - I love cottages - We have a lady in a neighborhood above ours whose house has a cottage look to it from the outside - I am trying to get out the door and go to Fantastic Finds and I wish I had all of You to go with me - It is a very cool place (Hubby did not care for it) - Kinda like an indoor Flea Market/Antique/Unique Things place with many booths (most good sized booths) and prices not too bad - Glad anyone gets a chance to getaway - It is hard these days for some strange reason - Enjoy early winter - We in NC have the same, straight to winter, however, today is nice and sunny. barb
ReplyDeletesuch an adorable cottage, looks like a wonderful getaway! I would have loved seeing all the beautiful changing trees. thanks so much for the shop pics, looks like a fun place.
