The She Shed is starting to get some work done.
|
She got a nice coat of white paint inside and out.
I am thinking of painting the door a color like yellow or light blue.
Not sure if I should keep it white or paint it.
What do you think?
The door needs to be sanded down in some spots even if I keep it white.
I also would like to find a cute vintage knob for the top door.

Terry took the old door and made it into a dutch door. This way I can have the bottom door closed and still have the top door open. Helps to keep the critters out. Right above the door I am ordering a Fresh Flower Market sign.
Below are some samples of flower market signs I am looking at for the front of the shed above the door.

So far I only have this one chippy half post and vintage mail box hung for decor. I cannot wait for the weather to get decent and I can really start to decorate this sweet shed. I have lots of ideas for decor options. It will be great when I can begin to plant around the shed and hang a few flowering baskets and make the chicken feeder into a planter box. Hope your weekend of Shelter in Place was a good one. Ours was pretty wet with lots of rain. Today was pretty decent so we did get some things done.
Have a good week. Hugs, Kris |
The Dutch door looks great! I say go for a color for the door. :-)
ReplyDeleteI always love touches of i(true)blue in the garden ~ why not paint in the same shade of blue from your curtains?
ReplyDeleteHugs ~
OMG I love the sweet little dutch door!!! I can't wait to see which sign you decide on. It will look so pretty hung above the door. I love the idea of painting the door a different color....I vote for a light pink :o)

Just so cute! Love the double door and all the little details. Definitely use a color you love on the door!
ReplyDeletethat dutch door is just adorable!! I know you must be full of fun plans and ideas for this and the area around it. I think a hint of color would be perfect there. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteGOOD MORNING! Just the daily dose of beauty I need before I dig into my online school. Kris, that Dutch door is fantastic and I can see you spending a few hours out there just taking in the beauty. I love the idea for the signs and as far as the painting of the door, YES! Paint it! Any color really, from a butter yellow to a light aqua. For some pink lovers, that would be a fun option. Either way, it is coming along and all we both need now is good weather to get our plans underway! GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteLove the door, and think it would look beautiful in a color.
ReplyDeleteI think a light blue door would be so beautiful! Love the Dutch door, great idea! Looking so cute!
ReplyDeleteA Dutch door always reminds me of cottages and it is perfect for your she shed! The flower market signs are all cute. Love the decor you have hung up. It's like having a dollhouse to decorate and furnish. Your weather has been very similar to ours. Today is lovely, tho. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat about leaving the outside white and painting the inside a color so when it's open the color shows? It's a sweet little shed. You'll have so much fun with this.
ReplyDeleteI'm also looking for a garden sign. Can you tell me the sources of those you are looking at? Also, did you ever get a different camera? I still have the extra one

Wow, love the Dutch door, such a great idea. I love it all white. Your spindle looks great too.
ReplyDeleteWe had rain and lots of it too. Cloudy today as well, depressing.

I love the dutch door Kris. I think the door painted a color will look nice and same for the sign. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea turning the door into a dutch style door!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I say color the door!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! and I think a blue door would be lovely, particularly if you have matching blue flowers in a window box under that pretty window :) xox
ReplyDeleteI would paint the door, some soft color, but you will make the right decision, Ms. Styling Pro!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the door! I'd try a color on it. Why not? You can always repaint it white if you decide you don't care for the color. Of course, l love color so I say, "do it!", lol. Love the black sign. That would really show up against the white. You can't go wrong with any of those though.
ReplyDeleteWe finally had a sunny weekend. I moved my potted plants out and cleaned up the studio porch. I may need to paint my door. I noticed a couple of spots peeling. I want a lime green. Ha! Not sure what Bruce would think. Have a wonderful week!
The dutch door is absolutely darling on your sweet she shed! I'm team aqua or a light blue!
ReplyDeleteLove both the signs and your she shed! How about a colorful wreath or something on the door instead of painting? That way if you don't like it it's easy to remove.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love a Dutch door. Do the blue door, like the shade of the flowers in your post!
ReplyDeleteI would add some lovely turquoise to the door! It is such a cute space!
ReplyDeleteThe Dutch door looks so sweet. Maybe try painting a pretty color, if you don’t like it, you can always re-paint it white. I love the garden sign and also the decorative piece above the door. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Dutch door.
ReplyDeleteMy garden shed door is yellow and I do love the pop of color. I should do a post about my little garden shed. You have inspired me.

Charming, charming, charming! Love the dutch door, and painting it a color would look so sweet. Any color you choose will look perfect. Glad you're having fun. Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteAh, I know the weather barely cooperates. Just enough time to get the 'work' done and not the play. Hubby started to enclose eaves on the greenhouse, just hoping the wasps don't figure out how to get in. Already had one HUGE bumblebee in the greenhouse. I can't wait to see what you do---I'm hoping to add some fun to the greenhouse, when I'm not so busy taking care of all the plants!
ReplyDeleteKris, that Dutch door is perfect, I love it! We had rain all weekend, and I cooked and picked up groceries. Today cleared up, but looks like more rain this week. Hope yours shapes up to be better so you can keep busy.
ReplyDeleteKris, that door is just dreamy! I love Dutch doors. I had one in the living room and we had to replace it since it was rotted. I miss it. I think those flower signs are gorgeous. I can't wait to see which one you choose! Hope your weather is fabulous and you've been able to get outside and enjoy that pretty yard! xo
ReplyDeleteI think dry brush some color in the crevices, nooks and crannies of the door and see what that looks like!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea to make the door into a Dutch door! We’re getting some much needed rain. Hoping to see some tulips blooming soon! Hope your weather is good there.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that dutch door. I had one on the playhouse my father built me when I was a little girl. I vote for a blue door. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteSo charming Kris! I love the dutch door. I can live in there LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove it Kris. My grandgirls would think this was their playhouse! Just love it girl. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeletePRECIOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, Kris, this she is adorable. How about a light green, will work for every season?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with your shed, Kris. It is going to be fantastic..and is already really. Love the dutch door. I had one on the first house John and I ever lived in. It was off our kitchen onto a side porch. I loved it-especially with little kids because I could keep the bottom closed to keep the kids safe and enjoy the open air from the top. PLUS--I love how those doors look. xo xo xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHow Cute! I'd love to have a cute She Shed like this! Too badmy HOA won't allow them! :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway adorable Can't wait to see your updates.
