She Shed is finally all painted. The door taken off. I like the more open look. I cannot wait to start to decorate this sweet shed. My vision is flowers, lots of chippy shabby decor and garden items. Here in Illinois hopefully we will be able to start to plant by the middle of May. |
|
This is the two sets of new patio furniture I purchased for the new deck we just completed. |
|
I wanted both a dining area and living area. |
|
It all was delivered today. It will be so nice once we get it put together and ready to use. Hope to show you this soon. |
|
This was my vintage fireplace surround and the TV cabinet. I just was not too happy with how it looked. You know I love white but this just felt like it needed something. For weeks I have been trying to figure out what to do. I tried to paint it blue and that was not great. Sorry I did not take pics of that. |
|
So..... we decided to sand the cabinet and fireplace surround down to the natural wood. The oak fireplace surround came out pretty good. |
|
This is the sanded down TV cabinet. Lots of orange and black. As you can see by looking at this cabinet and the fireplace surround sanded down would not work well together. A paint treatment was needed. |
I hope to have the paint treatment I did to these two pieces in the next couple of days.
Hope you are all staying safe and well.
Happy Monday!
Have a great start to the new week.
Kris
LOl- You are the sanding and painting queen, Kris. I love that when something doesn't work for you you are not afraid to just ditch former plans and redo things. You are willing to do the extra work to get what you like!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with it. Loving the deck furniture and i am so jealous of your sweet She Shed. xo Diana

ReplyDeleteYour little she shed is sooooo cute..... I can't wait to see how you decorate it!!! Your new furniture is really pretty too. It looks substantial enough so you won't be chasing it down in the yard with the winds you have. Your back yard it going to be such a lovely getaway.....

Loving the she-shed and the new furniture is gorgeous. I keep thinking that I need to update our outdoor spaces.
ReplyDeleteGood morning my friend! OK, everything is looking really promising! Your She Shed is exciting and I can see it coming together with flowers. Is there a little picket fence in its future????
ReplyDeleteOK NOW FOR THE MANTLE! I actually like it sanded and left natural. No varnish, no paint, but natural. I can see what you mean about the "orangy" wood of the cabinet, but I know you and Terry will figure that out. Have you ever looked at Brooke Giannelli's books like Patina Farms or Patina living? She makes great use of the natural wood look and I think it fits the Shabby Chic style. Just a thought.
The she shed looks fabulous painted and I know in no time at all, you will have it decorated beautifully. The new patios sets look lovely on your new deck. It will soon be all in place and before too long the weather will be warm, so you can enjoy your sweet backyard. Xo
ReplyDeleteI 'LOVE' the oak surround. It is beautiful! You are going to have a lovely back yard filled with flowers, your sweetly decorated she shed and wonderful seating/dining areas on your new deck. ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteI love watching your mind race and your physical being catch up with it! You're incredible. Love the look of the furniture and that sweet she shed.
ReplyDeleteYou're killing me with the she shed It gets better and better. I'm dreaming of how beautiful this will be.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for it to warm up a bit to get plants.
Looking forward to seeing these pieces I know they'll be beautiful..
Hugs,
Cindy
Love the furniture you selected! You will certainly enjoy all of it when the weather turns nice. I hope there are no little critters in your backyard that would love to live in your she shed. It will be a little doll house, all dressed up. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOH boy.....is that ever a tease on the fireplace surround and TV cabinet! I'm waiting here's with baited breath 🤗🤩😍
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the she shed and the patio all set up. I know it will all look fabulous once you have decorated everything! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the shed and patio all done. It will be such a fabulous space to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI love your shed! So cute. And your new furniture will be fabulous on your deck. Hopefully soon, you will be able to have family and friends over to fill the spaces on that new furniture!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what you are doing to your fireplace and TV cabinet...I thought you loved white! Hmmm, what does Kris have up her sleeve now? :-)
Well we might have to social distance and not go out very much, but our yards will be beautiful! I love the she shed and can't wait to see the whole front and back yard.

I love the shed. It is looking great, I like all the little details. The outdoor space will be so much fun. Hang on to your hat, our weather is windy here in Northern Wisconsin!!
ReplyDeleteYour she shed looks amazing in that beautiful colour! The 2 sets of outdoor furniture look great too. Really looking forward to the photos of those when they are in situ.
ReplyDeleteI will admit to being surprised that you have stripped and sanded down those things! Again, I am looking forward to seeing what you do to those. There certainly isn't a dull moment with you and Terry. Hugs, Gilly x
The shed looks nice Kris! That outdoor set is going to be so comfortable. Looking forward to see what you decide for the mantle and cabinet! I'm sure it will be lovely!
ReplyDeleteBig hug!
I have to say I love the fireplace surround just as it is in its sanded down version. It looks like it came from a French country cottage. Whatever you come up with will be wonderful. One of the best things about all of your redos is that Terry is onboard with you. I think that's just so cool! Love you friend. Hugs. Nancy
ReplyDeleteGirl, your She shed is the cutest ever! You are surely staying busy. GIVE ME YOUR ENERGY! LOL! Love all that you are doing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLooks like you will be busy with projects! Love new looks!
ReplyDeleteThe new deck furniture looks wonderful! Yay on painting your she shed! I can’t guess what you’re going to do with tv cabinet and the fireplace surround! We had snow last night but the sun made it out and melted it this afternoon. Will spring ever come!
ReplyDeleteKris, everything looks beautiful. I can't wait to see it all put together and accessorized - inside and out! You always have such great ideas. I was in the middle of refreshing a few things around here before the quarantine, but I put it all on hold. You've inspired me to get back to it. I've spent the day gathering online and I'm excited to do some fun things around here. We need a distraction!! ox
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of irons in the fire...love the shed, so cute. Now the wood pieces I adore, but I can see if you may have some issues, getting them to match. If you can find a some wood from the top piece you can play with and experiment, perhaps an undertone of something with a bit of purple (yes, I said purple) might neutralize the yellow orange...look at a color wheel, find the wood tone, and go to the opposite--180 degrees around and try that color in a gray...? Only if you have wood to play with though. Hugs, and good luck! Sandi
ReplyDeleteLove the new patio furniture, Kris. I know you are looking forward to warm weather and it will look so nice on your new deck! Can't wait to see the finished fireplace and TV cabinet too! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris,
ReplyDeleteLove your she shed all painted white, gonna look amazing when you are done with it, I am sure....
All your new patio furniture looks amazing....that deck is gonna be one great place to hand out and celebrate. Can't wait to see how you put it all together.
and also what you do to your faux fireplace.....love how the wood looks on it,
but doesn't look great with the cabinet....just painting it a different color
might fix that up.....I am sure you will come up with some great idea.....lol
You are very good at that.
Hope you have a great rest of the week.
Blessings, Nellie
