This weekend I was finishing up all the planting of annuals and perennials.
Lots of work but if everything takes by the middle of the summer it should be looking very pretty.
I did work on my garden bike.
It is a work in progress but I think it is coming out cute.
I filled in the vintage bike basket with some old books and a pretty garden hat a friend made me for my birthday back in April. |
I will try to remember to bring in the books with the threat of rain. Wishing you a great start to the new week. We were working on the she shed this weekend too. Hope to have that to show you soon. |
Parties
The bike is looking pretty with her "seat" of pink petunias! This whole area will be gorgeous with some summer growth. What kind of fertilizer do you use on your flowers? Did you experience the heavy thunderstorm we had overnight? Didn't know if it made its way through the Midwest. Riley doesn't like storms so I put his Thunder coat on him. There was some thunder that made the Urban Farmer and I both jump...lol... More rain today, just hope it doesn't destroy the strawberries. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou had a post a while ago that showed a bunch of your garden bikes. What happened to the old ones? Do you sell them or are some of them the same bike just painted with a fresh coat of colour? This is a very sweet vignette that you've created! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI love it Kris! It looks so pretty dressed in matching pink. The Hydrangea around it will be gorgeous, you must be thrilled. We were able to get our plants this weekend, so happy.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cindy
Your bike is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty, Kris! Love how full the petunias are. I need to repaint my old bike. And feed the basket plants. Yay for Spring! Glad you are getting to plant. It's already looking so pretty. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cecilia
It looks great, Kris. Your old bike is much nicer than mine. lol Love how fantastic it looks all dressed for summer! xo Diana

This is looking so amazing. Love that bike.
ReplyDeletesuch a fun area, totally loving that bike. Your petunias are always amazing!! have a wonderful week, Kris!
ReplyDeleteLooking really great, Kris!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great Kris! Who cares if it doesn't have a seat ~ the flowers are a masterful touch!
ReplyDeleteLooks very pretty! Did you plantings survive the monsoon?? I decided to not plant anything yet (I'm out of town for 3 weeks with my new grandson) and my husband texted me a pic last night of our back yard half under water. Last year half of my flowers rotted in the ground so I decided I'd wait until I come back even though it will be later than usual for me to plant.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Kris...you must be an expert now in all the gardens you have done ...! The 'monsoon' was pretty bad up here, not so much wind, but the rain fall was just something scary. We got the garden almost totally planted, I still have to do all the annuals and flowers, but it is too wet. Crazy weather---always in the Chicago Burbs! Sandi
ReplyDeleteThe bike and the surrounding area look so nice, Kris! I think you'll be keeping those books and pretty hat indoors for quite awhile...looks like starting Friday, we're in for rain every single day for a week again! I think I'll have Brian take my old Schwinn down from the garage today and get it set up by our patio. At least it will get a good cleaning with all this rain!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, Kris! I knew it would be. Such yummy colors from your flowers bringing out the pink of the bike. That bell is so cute! The blue books are perfect with the pretty bird house nearby.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet bike is so pretty! Love the blues and the cute birdhouse. The books are a nice touch.. maybe laminate the covers somehow and cover the inside pages somehow(?) so if you forget to bring them in during the rains, they will be protected. Not sure how to do that though! Love the hydrangeas too.... wish they would grow in our dry climate, but don't seem to want to. Anxious to see the she shed! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteSo pretty....I love all the pink!

Love the bike!! I have an old one too propped up against a tree at the entrance of my shade garden. I think I’ll have to add some flowers in the basket. You are such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris - sorry I have been MIA so much - blaming the quarantine - just trying not to stay glued to all things back-lit.
ReplyDeleteLoving your whimsical garden. That is a very fun pink and white bike ya got there, lady. Hope you are staying home, staying safe and staying healthy.
Big big hugs. ♥
Hi, I like the color choices. We are having some nice weather today. Tomorrow we move Sam out of his apartment. The three of us! Oh Boy, I am so glad Atticus is such a big help!! Sam's lease expires at the end of the month. He will be deployed to the end of June. He will look for a new place in July and plans to room with his friend Dylan. I am happy we will have good weather for the move.
ReplyDeleteOh I do love that charming bike...the pink petunias are perfect! So happy to have everything growing again!
ReplyDeleteKRIS! Good morning! Thank you dear friend for coming to my blog to leave kind words! I am having fun with the local blooms and as I try to take photos in between school! Enjoy the day. It's going to be 80 here today but with rain on Saturday. BOO HOO! I had wanted to plant more flowers!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty bicycle, Kris! It reminds me of a picture I have on my blog right now that I took in Amsterdam of a bike decked out in flowers. Hope the rain holds off for awhile so you can enjoy that pretty vignette!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteYour bike and garden are adorable. I always love seeing your petunias.
