This drop leaf table is perfect for something I am doing in my living room. Perfect size and oh my the claw feet on this piece got me! |
|
It opens up to a nice size for two people to eat. |
|
Painted it white especially those sweet claw feet. |
|
This is where it is right now but will not be staying in this space.
I am working on something in my living room to show you soon.
I have to wait on a custom order to pull it together.
Hoping in the next week I can show you what that is all about.
Do you love the cable wire coming up through the floor and Buddy's toy.
Oh boy! not very professional when I took this picture!
Keeping it real!!!

This is my next project.
Stay tuned to see this get re loved to fabulous.
Trying to keep myself busy with little projects here and there during our captivity!
Have a wonderful week.

Hi Kris! Ooooh...two great finds! The little drop leaf turned out beautifully, but I'm especially looking forward to seeing what becomes of the wood piece. It's really pretty, especially the carving details. Jane
ReplyDeleteWow, you found some great stuff! Those feet would have gotten me too.....
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how you transform that hunk of oak.

I'm all for keeping it real!!! I had to laugh when I saw your title for the post. My imagination went into overdrive! LOVE those two pieces, that oak bed is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! I am back! Oh wow - what a gorgeous find that neat table is!!! I'd love to have one of those - out of the way, but set up for the perfect size tea table when a friend or two comes for tea.
ReplyDeleteBUT seeing as I am seriously social distancing, I am now hoping that day happens!
That antique headboard is amazing! You know I had a 200 year old bed growing up. I loved it. I always meant to take it but I wasn't fast enough and it was "gone" when I remembered it. Sniff. So stupid. I have the footboard but not the exquisite super tall headboard. Anyway, I am babbling. Just saying hi. And giving hugs. ♥
WOOOO HOOOOOO! I love ya. You are my kinda pal! That is a wonderful piece, Kris and now for the oak head board....I wonder what you will be doing with this!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKris, the suspense is killing me!!! I love both pieces and can't wait to see their new life in your home. It really makes me think about re-purposing things instead of buying new. I love the old stuff too - just like you.
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the claw foot table. Could I ask what is your method to paint the table? Spray paint? brush? It has such a smooth finish. Great job. Thanks. Sheila
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila,
DeleteI use Behr paint with primer in it. Just the middle line Behr. It takes a few coats but it does dry very smooth. Thanks for your visit. xoxo
What fabulous finds Kris. The table looks lovely, especially with the claw feet. I am intrigued by the oak piece. Knowing you and Terry, it become something very special. Have a good week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThat table is fabulous, can't wait to see what you do with the headboard too.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find these exquisite pieces? I look on FB Marketplace and NEVER see things this great!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Sweet little table! Graceful lines and she is very pretty in her fresh coat of white paint. I'll have to wait to see what you do with the oak piece. Pretty detailing on her and she will be fabulous also! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe new look is wonderful
ReplyDeleteI like the feet on that little table too.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see what is next. :-)
So pretty what paint do you find last best on your furniture pieces?
ReplyDeleteYou sure keep me inspired and oh well doggie toys are a must for a loved look.
Hi April,
DeleteI like Behr paint with primer in it. I use a gloss on furniture so it is easily washable without damage to the finish. Hope that helps. Have a great day. xoxo
Great job.
ReplyDeleteThose claw feet would hook me too. Such a pretty and versatile table. Oh my I can't wait to see what you're doing with that gorgeous oak beast. I think I know but can't wait to see if I'm right.
ReplyDeleteYou always find great stuff, Kris and then transform pieces smoothly into your home. Both pieces are beautiful and can't wait to see the after.
ReplyDeleteLove those ball and claw feet, Kris. That piece yet to come looks massive! Hope you can haul it.
ReplyDeleteA stunning table Kris - no wonder you fell for it. As for the other piece, I would guess that Terry is going to be very busy with that one! Nothing wrong about keeping it real! Hugs, Gilly
ReplyDeleteThe table is precious. Perfect size. Anxious to see what you and your magic do to the other piece. Know it will be breath taking. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that darling little piece and those cute legs. I need to go shopping with you!! Can't wait to see that oak piece. I can't even imagine what you'll do with that! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThose feet are doing a happy dance now that they are all spruced up! Looks great! Can't wait to see how the next project turns out!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with them. Love the feet too. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteI like how the round table looks painted white. I can't wait to see what you do with your new piece of furniture! It's the perfect time for DIY projects. Have a fun time Kris. :)
ReplyDeleteI so admire your talent with paint! Such a sweet little table. And that headboard is fabulous whatever your plans for it. Great to see you having so much fun!
ReplyDeleteKris, I love that table, even more since you painted it white. Can't wait to see the next piece. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSweet little table! I used to have a similar one but it didn't have the cute feet. Can't wait to see what you do with that gorgeous oak piece! Have a beautiful weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteKris, what sweet feet! I can see why you fell in love and I'm not going to guess about what will become of that, although I might be able to. Will let you know after you reveal it. Also the other piece is so pretty. I really can't think what it will turn into..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteThe feet would have charmed me too, Kris! When I first saw the before picture I thought they were lions paws but with white paint I can see the claws. Eagles?
ReplyDeleteI have always loved drop leaf tables! They are so versatile, especially for smaller houses and kind of cozy. I have an old primitive drop leaf table that my son gave me that I treasure and use for my desk, the back side down but the front up for my computer. It's painted a dull green with a little black trim on part of the legs.
I would have loved that beautiful oak piece but I would not have had a clue what to do with it so I'm sure I will be amazed when I see what it becomes in your cottage!
