Happy New Year.
This weekend I hope to take down the Christmas and start to arrange some new things into my decor. I found this cute table that was in natural wood and had a cute little drawer.
It is a sweet little table that I thought I would leave in the natural wood with my two white slipcovered chairs. After looking at it I think the top is a little too rustic for my taste. |
Cute table, can't wait to see what you do with it. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteWhata cute little table...such a great find! What if you leave the band of wood around the outside of the table top and paint just the inside? Maybe start with a grey color? Or you could also sand down the inside and restain it so it has less of a rustic look. Whatever you decide I know it will turn out amazing and I look forward to seeing the transformation.

i would paint the whole table white natural wood with all of your white not so good just my opinin
ReplyDeleteCute table. Can't you just sand the top to make it less rustic? Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI already started putting away some of my decorations. I too hope to take down the rest of my Christmas decorations this weekend. I like the small table and I can't wait to see the finished look. Kris, I hope you have a happy new year!
ReplyDeleteKris, I totally agree about the coming new year. May be we all can get vaccinated and have peace in our lives. What if you could paint the top and look at it for a few days to decide if you need to paint the whole table. I love that sweet corner of your living room. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteOf i was a betting person. I would bet the cute little table ends up all white! LOL Happy New Year sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteKris - give me a call when you have time to talk. I'm anxious to tell you something. Later...
ReplyDeleteI think white on top would look good but you always come up with such cute ideas. I'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super table, Kris! I love it and I know whatever you do to it, it will look great. You have a designer's eye. I've started putting away some of my Christmas decorations, but I think this year I'm going to keep the trees up for a while. I need a little more twinkle! Hugs my friend!! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly starting to pack away the Christmas stuff. I always get sad when the trees come down! Have a few ideas for the new year and new decorating, time will tell. I love that table -- while I love the top of it I totally understand your hesitation to leave it as is. Can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm and Happy New Year! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteKris, don't paint the legs, leave it in the natural wood. Look how perfect it matches your wood floor. The top is a little rough so it does need painting but I think just painting the top will look beautiful with the natural legs. It's a cute little table. I love the legs.
ReplyDeleteGood morning my friend. I'll be back in email. AND....the table has a lot of possibilities; have you thought about giving it a pickled look?
ReplyDeleteKris, I love your creative brain, always playing with new solutions to your downsized living space. I'm sure you'll know what's best once you start working on it. I've already gotten all my decorations put away. My tree is small enough that I decided to leave it up, just with lights, maybe another week or so.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I cannot wait for the vaccine. I pleaded my case with my PCP to be able to get on any list that might be in her control at my appt yesterday. Otherwise, we'll stay hunkered down for the most part until our turn comes.
Praying with you for a bright, new, happy and healthy new year dear friend. I just adore your beautiful tree and that spot would be quite cozy for a sitting area. Can't wait to see what you do with the table. Hugs and blessings to you dear lady.

What a sweet little table! I wouldn't want to block the bay window either but I bet it will look really cute there. Can't wait to see what you do with it! I am waiting until Friday to take down my Christmas stuff. Need to figure out how to have some sparkly lights to combat the dark days though. I have much hope for our new year. May it be a kinder, gentler one.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
Morning Kris,
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family had a Beautiful Christmas. Was finally able to check out some your recent posts. Your outside decorations were so so pretty as well as your inside ones and your tree was gorgeous.
Like you new table. very cute. I love oak and white together. So you might just be
pleasantly surprised when you paint the top. You could always paint the legs that pretty light blue you have.....whatever you do know if will look lovely as always.
I like your prayer idea for more love less covid.....that is one we can all pray for sure. Hope you and yours have a Blessed New Year.
Love and Blessings, Nellie
It is a lovely table, Kris. I quite like the two-tone idea but you could always paint the top white and, if it doesn't suit, paint the rest as well. Happy new year!

ReplyDeleteGreat find and whatever you decide it will look great.
ReplyDeleteHoping the vaccine will help. I know we still have to wear masks. This virus is unbelievable, can't stand it
Happy New Year!
Cindy
You could try a glaze over the top area, which would help richen it up and then paint the legs white.
ReplyDeleteLove your creativity! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
ReplyDeleteCute table Kris, I am looking forward to you working your magic.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Prayers for our world.
Love, Carla
Surely 2021 will be better and less dramatic than 2020. I certainly hope so. I don't know much about painting and furniture, but you always come up with the best choice. Anxious to see it!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
How about painting the table a dark gray or deep navy blue?
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Terry had a nice Christmas. May 2021 be a good year for all of us!
Cute table Kris. Sometimes you just have to experiment to see if something works. Most of my Christmas is out away. The house always looks empty. Let’s hope with the new year, we can get back to normal. Happy New Year. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cute table Kris - would it be worth sanding the top first and then deciding if it would be good enough to wax, and then paint the rest? Just a thought - I know that you will find the solution. I really loved all of your Christmas decorating and the outside was amazing. We must try to keep positive that next year will be better for us all. We have had good news regarding a second vaccine, made here in the UK and they will start to roll that out soon. Meantime our restrictions have all increased, because the cases have risen too high. So we must keep hope and pray that the world will become a safer place during 2021. Hugs, Gilly
ReplyDeleteLove the shape of the table, Kris. You will make it look just right whatever you do. I have faith! Wish I had as much faith in the new year. All we can do is try, I guess. BTW, I made the potato chip cookies and they were really so good. Hubby loved them, but they turned out so small. Just one little bite size. Did I write the recipe down wrong, maybe? I had one teaspoon size. They didn't spread and stayed really small, but a great bite with a cup of coffee..Happy Healthy New Year, my friend to all of us..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteCute lil table! Love the carved handle on the drawer. I know you will make the right decision and it will look adorable. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Kris!! Love the table but I agree that the shabby chic wood doesn't work with your decor. Can't wait to see what you do! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat table find..can't wait to see the end results. :0) ...Happy New Year and goodbye 2020. Hopefully, your wish will come true for our World in 2020!! :0). Peace to All. x0x0x0
ReplyDeleteYou have such great taste and ideas Kris, I know you will come up with a really fun solution for your table! I look forward to seeing what you decide to do with it. Your bay window is gorgeous, I completely understand not wanting to cover it up! Many blessings to you, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI like that! More love, and less virus!!! :D I like your rustic little table. Can the top be sanded down and left natural with the legs and sides painted? Whatever you do to it, I know it will be so pretty because all of your projects are!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Kris! Praying for a happy new year for all. Many changes for me in the new year - hubby joined me in retirement as of today, we are building a new house in KY to be closer to our daughter & sil AND we will become first time grandparents in June! Your table is super cute and I know you will find the perfect finish for it. Jane
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, my friend! Have you thought about painting the top and the drawer? Just a though....Cute little table and i love your tree!!
I know what you mean about a family of medical people...We have a lot of nurses, EMT's and paramedics and firefighters in my extended family...Nieces and nephews..Thankfully, all have managed to stay safe and not contract co vid..A 28 year old firefighter/EMT from Scranton just passed away from multiple pulmonary emboli from covid...So sad....
Wishing you and your beautiful familya very Happy New Year!!
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
You will know once you start on the table what to do with it...it will just speak to you like all your projects do. Haven't seen you screw up one YET! lol.
ReplyDeleteI love that corner and hope the table works out there with the chairs. I know you don't have a lot of room to play with there so it will have to feel just right or it won't work for you.
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend. xo Diana
