Happy New Year and New Week.
I wanted to share with you the re love of the small table and chairs.
|
This is where I had my Christmas tree. It was so pretty in front of the bay window in the corner of my living room. This is the space I was hoping to achieve a small eating area in the living space. |
|
This was the table I purchased a few months back from my friend Janet that owns and operates Lucky Junk. It is such a cute table and I really would have liked to keep it in the natural wood. The top even with sanding just was not working. |
|
I tried to just paint the top of the table white but it looked too funky. Forgot to take a picture to show! The whole table got painted legs and all into my signature white. |
|
Here is how it turned out. |
|
It blends in nicely with all my other white furniture. |
|
Excuse my wrinkles on the slipcovers. I do not iron lol! They will work themselves out as we sit on the chairs. Today was a gray and snowy cold day. I love this room when the sunshine is out. It fills the room with lots of pretty brightness and warmth. Not today :( Now we have a little place to sit and have coffee and tea and look out to the front yard. I have a real issue with blocking the bay window so I think with keeping the table and chairs like this it does not block the window.
We were promised sunshine this afternoon but so far the sun has not come out. I do not mind the snow and cold it is these long winter days with no sunshine that get to me! Have a great new week. |
You made it work my friend. It is the right size and it gives you just enough room to navigate the room and enough space to sit, eat and have a cuppa. Cozy for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I love it. I'd love a little snow. Just a little though. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThis table is adorable and it's perfect in your window spot! I think the white paint is by far the best!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!! It's so fresh and bright, even in the snow. I can only imagine how pretty it looks in the sunshine. You know I've always wanted to ask you, what exactly is your signature white paint? What do you use? It obviously works very well and has staying power. Do tell! xo
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect. Well done as always!
ReplyDeleteI am with you, if I do not have sun for several days.. oh boy, do I start to get down. I love the SUN. And I tell it THANK YOU when it shines bright after several days of gloom. ;-)
So pretty....the slipcovered chairs look pefect paired with the table.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
~Des
Everything is white! Even the snow outside is cooperating. I would've kept it natural but it does look clean and fresh. It's a cute table. Hope you get a sunny day soon.
ReplyDeleteThat corner is the perfect place to show off so many things. The tree was perfect and show is the table and chairs. I like to look out the window when I drink my coffee too. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect little corner - beautiful! Liz
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely project. A great space to do many things. Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteKris, you made it work! That looks great, and you still have the view. Are you happy with it?
ReplyDeleteYou made the table work for you. I can see you enjoying tge view look out at your beautiful flowers come spring.
ReplyDeleteImagine your perennials this year.
Hugs,
Cindy
Your table turned out lovely. Love the white with your chairs. It looks wonderful in front of the bay window. You are the queen of makeovers. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe table is so beautiful white. It blends into the surroundings so much better. You will enjoy sitting there when summer is here and you have flowers in the front yard.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Great Job! I love the table.
ReplyDeleteI love it, it looks perfect there.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness,, Kris, I love it! I think the all white is perfect, and it will reflect light around your room. I also like the placement as the table and chairs don't block your window. I like the wrinkles: very shabby chic.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Kris! I hope you had a nice Christmas break. The table and chairs is the perfect size and placement for your bay window and looks to be a nice bright spot to enjoy your morning coffee. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us this year. Hugs from Canada xo
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty slip covers. Do you do the painting of all the things, or does Terry. I used to paint, but now I leave it up to my husband.
ReplyDelete*Smiles*
Both of us paint. I have to admit that Terry does most of the painting of furniture. He has the patience to do it but I still paint too! Hope you are doing well. I have not seen you in a long time. Thanks for stopping by. xoxo
DeleteAdorable! It looks perfect for that spot - just the right size and being all white fits in perfectly. Very nice! 😊Cecilia
ReplyDeleteKris: Perfection! It looks like it is in the right spot and I'm glad you painted it all white. I love sitting by a window and dreaming when I'm eating. 3 very best things. Good job well done..Stay well..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Will 2 bump knees?
ReplyDeleteWe usually do not bump knees so far. We can pull the table out with the space there and it fits two people nicely. It is position like that to look neat but we can pull it into the room more when we use it. Happy New Week. xoxo
DeleteHappy new year Kris. I love this pretty little table you painted. It looks just perfect painted all white and it looks great with the chairs. What kind of paint and color did you use? Did you use primer or does the paint come with primmer already in the mix? You are the painting queen! Hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteI use Behr white cabinet paint and I do believe it has primer in it. I love cabinet paint because it is completely washable. Happy New Year.
DeleteLove it Kris! That white paint is so bright and the table looks brand new! Love where you put it. I can imagine sitting there reading my book and drinking tea. Now it just needs that pretty blue rug you used to have in that space, or a smaller one. I always did love that blue (checked?) rug! As usual, you guys worked your magic! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty there I have a table by my window I do wish it was a bay window though, Do you have a basement in this new cottage Kris ?
ReplyDeleteNo basement just a crawl space. Thanks for your visit. xoxo
DeleteI absolutely love it Kris. So fresh, so inviting and so beautiful. You are so gifted and talented. Lord, took me forever to get a new tablescape going after I put away the Christmas. I am getting slower these days. LOL! Wishing you a wonderful, healthy, New Year. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLooks great in that spot. Have you and the hubs used the table and chairs yet? Tea time?
ReplyDeleteThat looks great Kris! I could see me using my iPad sitting there with a cup of coffee!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!!!! I like the paint on the table and what an amazing spot to eat a meal.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! Your table and chairs are darling - you always have that magic touch! Jane
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Kris. That window is spectacular, and the table and chairs are the frosting on that lovely cake. :) Now you can really enjoy that spot. I know what you mean about overcast, gloomy days. We had so many on those in Oregon over the winter. So depressing. This is one thing I love about Colorado. Just about every day in the winter we have at least an hour or two of full sunshine. Usually much, much more. I find I deal with the winters much better here because there is more sunlight. Hugs and much love for the new year. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Kris - it all looks perfect! It is much more 'you' and it still leaves plenty of room, so as not to block your beautiful bay window. Hoping that the sun comes out soon. Hugs, Gilly
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to rearrange my kitchen table and I have and love white also.
ReplyDeleteLooking for a drop down table
You give me inspiration to paint anything white
I love it-it is perfect painted white. I didn't realize how big it was-I thought it was coffee table sized. This is a great size for that window with the chairs. Nice job- as always.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever say what color white you use? I like how bright and crisp it looks. xo Diana
Kris,
ReplyDeleteIt is just perfect!!! Such a charming space!! Just like you said, we have different tastes...I like color and you love white but that does not mean we can not appreciate each other's homes!! Too bad this can not be applied to Politic in this Country.....Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
Hugs,
Deb
Very pretty! Will you eat some meals there or will it be used as a place just to sit and chat or have a cup of coffee?
ReplyDeleteI don't iron either and I appreciate your keeping it real! It really is lovely -- I like the idea of having that little corner with all that beautiful light! I could see myself turning that into my little art table, with all that great light shining in. It looks quite perfect there. All good wishes for a happy new year! ~ jeanie from Marmelade Gypsy
ReplyDeleteI am always so enchanted with your world in white!
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference, it looks so much bigger now that it's white. So weird! Love the way it looks in the space. Great job Kris! xoxox
