Wishing all of you a nice Easter weekend.
This is the table I saw a while back in one of my fave stores to shop when we go to Michigan. Vintage Goods. Diane that owns the shop lovely hubby and grandgirl are in the picture showing off the table. I thought this table would be great for the new condo. Can't wait to have a dining room again.
When I contacted Diane to buy the table she still had the table top but could not find the legs. I still love the planked table top so we bought just the table top from her. No worries because.......
| I had this small desk table in our current house that had some beautiful legs. I asked Terry if he thought he could fit these legs on the new table. He said he thought he could duh!!!! He has the tools lol! |
This is the tabletop we before picture. Very dark top and the sides needed some love.
As you can see it was not even painted white on this side of the table. Plus Terry decided to take it all apart and trim down the base about 3 inches for more leg room underneath. |
So we basically rebuilt the table. |
Terry sanded down the table planks to smooth out the surface. |
These are the legs taken off the small table. |
After sanding down the top and putting on a nice coat of polyurethane the table is looking pretty nice. |
We brought it into the house after it completely dried and it is ready to be moved to the new condo. I will keep the two white slipcovered chairs for end chairs and I will show you soon the score I made on four new wood chairs for this table. Wishing all of you a wonderful rest of the week and a great Easter Weekend. We are heading out to the lake house in Michigan for Easter. |
Have a blessed and restful Easter. SO exciting about your move and the pretty table for your dining room. I can't wait to see it and your chairs (without the peacock wallpaper, LOL)...
ReplyDeleteLove your find! As usual, Terry came thru! LOL. When do you move? Send me your new address when you have time. Can't wait to see all of your handiwork.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous that Terry is so handy! Between your ideas and his 'can-do' you do amazing work with anything you find. Hmmmm...wonder if I bring him a chandelier he would rewire it? lol. That is going to be great in the new condo. Any chance you can put short legs on that other table top and make it into a coffee table or something? It's too nice to waste.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great evening!!!! xo Diana
Love the table and Terry is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this in the new place.
Happy Easter and enjoy the family!!
Give Buddy a kiss
