My design assistant agrees with my choice of doing the long wall the bed is on.
I am looking for two vintage mirrors to hang on the wall behind my lamps on the nightstands. Going to hunt for some kind of neat architectural piece for over the middle of the bed to calm the pattern a little more.
I found a new duvet with a black and white rose pattern that went well with the wallpaper and approved by the design assistant!
I am on the hunt for some other things to go on the other walls and to make the new armoire stand out.
I will be back with a full remake of the whole room.
Next week Monday Terry and I rented a cottage home on Lake Michigan.
We need some down time after the last 6 weeks of working non stop on the condo.
Hoping the weather will be good for the beach and the house has a private pool.
Say some prayers we will see sunshine and pool and beach weather in Michigan. Boy we need this down time!
Hoping to maybe find a few treasures for the bedroom in the Michigan shops I love.
Wish me luck! Have a great rest of the week. I will be in touch after our vacation next week. Hugs, Kris |
It looks beautiful and so relaxing. I hope you enjoy your downtime. You deserve it with all the hard work you have been doing.
ReplyDeleteLove the wallpaper. Things are looking great! Have a fun vacation.
ReplyDeleteKris,
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!! when I first got married in 1978, an accent wall was the thing...I had one in every room!! LOL!! Enjoy your vacation! Hope you are felling better!!
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!

Looks fabulous, Kris, and I like your ideas to flesh it out. Have a wonderful getaway.
ReplyDeleteYou design assistant provides invaluable design ideas! He is so cute. My nephew has a dachshund who is 18 and a half years old.
ReplyDeleteThe mirrors behind the lamps are a good idea. You will find just the perfect architectural piece on your much-needed week away from nonstop work. The bedroom has layers of pretties without seeming busy or fussy.
Enjoy your break. Just think, you can lock the front door and go away without worrying about any flowers that need watering. xoxo
Enjoy your well deserved vacation, Kris. Looking forward to seeing what you pick up for this space.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I agree with your design assistant...that is a good wall for the wallpaper. Love the duvet too. Enjoy your down time. I know you'll find great treasures and hope your weather is perfect.

Hello Kris,
ReplyDeleteI love the wallpaper on that wall where the bed is located. I did the same thing in my bedroom with the wallpaper when we fist moved into our house 26 years ago. My wallpaper was so similar but blue flowers and a white back round.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation with your husband. You both deserve the break and fingers crossed you have good weather.
Take care and enjoy the weekend Kris.
English cottage style is my very favorite, and you nailed it in this room, Kris. I love the wallpaper so much! Brava!

ReplyDeleteAnother great decision Kris The wallpaper looks really good on that wall and I love your idea for the mirrors and a sign above the bed. It's always good to get the seal of approval from your design assistant - he has such great taste! I hope that you and Terry have a great holiday and that the sun shines down on you. Hugs, Gilly
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous paper makes such a bold statement! I see a big spray-type wreath above the bed that compliments the garland over the alcove. Something with this shape: https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/gracie-oaks-22-foamsilk-wreath-w003029328.html What say you?
